  1. A little unfair in general our loan players did well in league 1 and 2 but struggled for game time in the championship.(a full run down on the O/S) http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/20160526-loan-watch-review-of-the-season-3125681.aspx not that I'm saying that puts them in the frame as first team regulars just that most of them did make progress.
  2. God that Iceland team are so good you can see why England struggled .............
  3. Austin got 18 the season before last in a crap relegated team. I'd back him to get similar this season with plenty of game time given the better quality of our side has over QPR. If ( big if at the moment granted) Jrod can find some form he should easily be capable of 10 goals a season to.
  4. Not surprised take the emotion out of it and he is a 31 year old centre forward who scores about 10 goals a season whose value isn't going to go up from the clubs point of view I doubt they see the point in giving him a new contract.
  5. He is in good company mind.... so many big names taking bad penos.
  6. Pelle OMG.... maybe JWP can give him some lessons
  7. I think they do lots of articles like that. Take this random one about why saints should sign Bolasie http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/07/01/am-why-southampton-should-make-a-move-to-sign-bolasie/
  8. could save himself some time and just have a quick look on here to find out what the squad needs.....
  9. via video camera kidnapper style....
  10. Dortmund having a sly dig on breaking that news “After intensive discussions, BVB has complied to the wish of the Armenian national team member; to join the fifth-place English team last season, Manchester United, for the new season.Borussia Dortmund wishes Henrikh Mkhitaryan all the best for the coming season in both the Premier League and in the Uefa Europa League,”
  11. One of our ex targets looking for a new club... http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/525496/Jose-Mourinho-Marcos-Rojo-surplus-requirements-Manchester-United-find-new-club?utm_source=outbrain&utm_medium=recommendations&utm_term=paid&utm_content=ds-sport-football&utm_campaign=2016&utm_term=5422209
  12. I get the feeling the unhappy ones were the under 21s ....
  13. Yeah noticed who had good feet and who didn't ?
  14. Fair enough my bad..
  15. Not sure about Benteke looks good in the right system (which might well be Palace with all those good wide players). Think Townsend is dross so not fussed at all. Tomkins is pretty Meh to so not exactly green with envy.
  16. Honestly didn't think Liverpool would get back even close to their money for Benteke last season really dented his reputation. I wonder if this will be Mane next season..
  17. yep there are a few fans who can't let go of summer 2014 they ended up looking a little silly but they keep going because the very nature of football means they will be right one day and then you just know they going to tell everyone about it...
  18. I can't see it happening he has just signed a new contract for 6 years he would cost a hell of a lot and contrary to popular belief we do say no sometimes.
  19. seems like the penny is dropping on the Everton forum The way the market is at the moment this £100m "war chest" won't be going far. Ighalo £37.5m rejected! My word! Exactly. Been saying this for a while. When you see £20mill turned down for players like Troy Deeney...you know prices are going to sky rocket. Everyone has more money (TV Deal!)...so prices only go up. If the £100 million turns out to be on top of any budget we might have had post TV deal, then fair enough. But that amount on its own is starting to look a bit standard judging by the way prices are going.
  20. What an awkward looking photo
  21. I think the club have been pretty clear they want a training ground coach someone who will improve players. The new guy is consider a good coach of players (I mean if Thierry Henry credits you with making him the player he was you must haven't something about you) from bits I've read on the net. The general impression from club statements and ITK snippets is our last manager wasn't doing the coaching side of things the way the club wanted (including allowing academy players to train with the first team) so they've gone for one they think will. You've got to remember the club put great store buy coaching and improving players it's a big selling point and the big part of this US academy scheme they hope to set up. This means that we missed out on some "Names" which to the fans would seem the more obvious candidates but don't fit the clubs vision. All my opinion of course but looking at that way Puel doesn't look nearly as baffling a choice.
  22. Not sure if it will work but emotional pleas form 8 year olds might be the way to go.. http://irishpost.co.uk/irish-boy-8-writes-adorable-letter-football-idol-shane-long-urging-not-leave-favourite-club/
  23. Why would that be a surprise. I'd like to think with three years left on his contract the club wouldn't let him go right now....but well it's Liverpool......... so bye Ryan (probably)
  24. About all you can say about Stek was that he was better than super Kelv at a time when we were short of options.
  25. I still wonder if the attritional grind of the championship might be a bit of a shock to old Rafa they should comfortably have the best team in the championship though.
