Claude Puel's 1st day training tomorrow
doddisalegend replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
TBF towards the end of the season he was fit again but by that time Long, Pelle and Mane were on form and he couldn't back in the side. He still scored more than any of our attackers in a **** QPR team the season before if he is fit and gets regular game time I'd back him to get 15 goals next season. -

Never heard of him? Have we missed out on something good....as he has gone to Bournemouth I suspect not. -

Got the feeling Punch was becoming a bit part player there anyway didn't seem to be starting much at the end of the season. Pacey wide men isn't really an issue for palace thought they'd be better off spending money on a decent centre forward. -
I thought Jose had a good game (and so did Pepe) but I did think Jose was keeping it very simple (if in doubt smash it CB work) and is a lot calmer and better with the ball in a saints shirt than he showed last night.

Cheers. I was trying to get some context is fine throwing something like that out there but with out more detail it's hard to judge.

Which club? Over how long a time period? Is this one summers spending?

Look at the players Villa had Koeman or poch would have had trouble keeping that lot up..

The ones at my work reckoned we'd gouged them for another meh player ? -
Had a ST in league 1 and championship would do again ( its cheaper for more games for a start) but I doubt saints will be back there anytime soon

We are in no way comparable to that car crash of a club villa

Assuming we keep Pelle and J-rod is fit for a season we look pretty good on the attacking side. Midfield looks very light to me definitely need a player or two in there. First choice defence looks good, back up full backs ok but would like extra cover at CB rather than Gardos and Yoshida. Need another back up keeper but could see the club easily going with Gazza. So for me a quality CDM, an AM (to give Davis some competition), another quality CB and a good back up keeper. -
Yeah but Morgan lives in a bedsit in the middle of Salford..
-
Not disagreeing I was saying the same during the mid season slump but plenty were advocating bringing in the youth at that time so they should be happy now....
-
Would have thought this appointment would have made more people happy. I seem to remember lots of posters calling for Koeman to play more youngsters during our bad patch mid season. There was lots of complaining about Koeman's inability to develop youngsters like Poch. So now the club have brought in someone to ,it appears, do just that and people aren't happy...

TBH that should be how about 95% of saints fan should be approaching this. Very few if us have got a clue about this bloke if we are honest.
-
Tbh I have no idea how much individual players earn and its not something that gets mentioned when players sign so I'd have no idea how many players have taken a pay cut. Gaston did though to join Middlesbrough though iirc
-
The club should definitely try for Morgan if Man U don't want him but it would be understandable if he thought coming back here was a failure. Having said that his desire to play european football isn't likely to be well served by going to Everton. Spurs would probably be his choice but Victor beat him to it. Hate to say it but I could see him at Liverpool.
-
The club have already said (via their pet jurno in the telegraph) Pellegrini was spoken to but wasn't the training ground coach they want. The club seem to specifically want a manager who gets out on the training ground and coaches players to improve them. I guess having spoken to a few candidates the club feel Puel fits that criteria.

I thought Westham wanted him haven't they already bid for him and Bournemouth said no? I guess Newcastle are offering a lot more money than Westham... -
