He wasn't the only one to be fair but our passing was **** poor today (especially first half) so many of our attacks broke down due to players putting passes to far in front of or behind the open player. He worked hard and closed down well enough but his passing wasn't up to his normal standards.

Great game! **** poor football from both sides for most of the game but ****ing hell so much drama and we ****ing won. TBH Lovern should have been sent off and we should have had a pen in the opening minutes but the ref bottled it. I was fuming after that but now I couldn't care less. saints need to learn to counter attack better we slowed it down every time we one the ball back or the first time passes were to wayward. Liverpool were very good at the counter attack and looked to punish us. Second half you couldn't fault the players they scrapped for everything and dug I out. Very chuffed tonight

Totally on our day we can be very good and match for anyone but sadly we haven't had enough days it's been a two steps forward to steps back kind of season.

Crap idea. I think the JPT is an important ( or should be) cup for lower league teams and should stay that way. It should be a competition to give lower league sides a really chance of a Wembley cup final not a reserves cup for Pl teams second string/youth players.

Really? I'd like to win (even if it's just to keep the plastic pool fans at work quiet) but even if we beat them they will no doubt win their games in hand and it is so tight around us I still can't see us finishing 6th/7th. Coupled with the fact the FA cup winners are unlikely to be in the top six this season I think Europe is probably gone so really the season is just playing for place money.

yes looks like we will be stuck with both useless feckers.... In fairness I'm not saying no one will go but I doubt there will be much player movement between rival PL clubs next summer. Sure the big boys might get a couple but even then they are going to have to pay heavily to get a player. I'm sure I read somewhere all the PL teams will be in the top 50 richest clubs in world next season even Bournemouth there is going to come a point were money won't be a driving factor for PL clubs when it comes to selling players.

I would we did better the season after without those players, none of the players who left have particularly stood out (well they have but for all the wrong reasons)and the squad as whole is stronger than back then.

That comes down to the fans recognising a player giving it everything. Most fans love a hard worker. Personally always thought Long was a decent signing. His finishing could be better at times but then if it was he wouldn't be at saints.

Do we really want to put Victor "bull in a china shop" Wanyama up against a light and tricky no.10 and ask him to be physical. Victor now has a reputation among refs as a dirty bastard, we are getting **** all (apart from red cards) from refs this season and Liverpool always get the ref on side against us. Five minutes in and Judas will be rolling around on the floor clutching his face every time Victor gets within five yards, the Liverpool fans will be influcing the ref (something the saints fans never seem to do at SMS) and we will be playing with 10 men yet again.

We won't sell a player less than 12months into his contract especially as the club are keen to tie Koeman down to a new contract which certainly won't happen if we sell VVD from under him.
