Playing more games a season is easier on the players?

What apart from Mopo claiming he had no interest in the Europa league early in the season......

I don't remember players suffering badly back in the championship/league 1 when asked to play mid week games. I reckon while things are going well the players will want to play.

Still can't quite force myself to believe it will happen. I never subscribed to the theory we were relegation fodder last summer but I never expected us to be anywhere near the top four either. Most of the so called big boys are stuttering this season and don't really look like kicking on. So if saints playing in the CL going to happen it's going to be this season that we get there. I expect to see overhauls in the big teams squads next summer to get the status quo back on track..

I'm incapable of wanting saints to lose any game I want us to have crack at top four and the cup. If we do get European football next season are people going to suggest we put out weakened teams in Europe to concentrate on the PL? We should have resources to be competitive in the cup and the league.

Surely six months ago Koeman was available for both the Barca job and the Dutch national job with no strings. He does a decent job with saints and suddenly he is the manager they both want....not sure I buy it. I think he will see out his contract because I think that's the type of guy he is. I honestly think he is enjoying himself at saints in, at least in the football world, what is a pretty low pressure job.
