Ings is proving he can hack it in the PL and is almost out of contract so could be got for a lower fee (or even free in the summer?) Rhodes has never played above the Championship (doesn't mean he can't hack it in the PL just that no one really knows) and cost 12 million. I wonder if those that said weren't happy with Ings being linked with us think Rhodes would be a better option?

No doubt there have been some howlers in some of recent games both for and against us and some times you just have to wonder what game the officials are watching. I still think it's not always easy for refs though who have to make split second decisions, through a crowd of bodies, without the benefit of dozens TV replays from lots of different angles like TV pundits and viewers.

Wouldn't be my first choice and 12 million seems steep ......though player fees seem to be getting ever more crazy it's hard to know what's a fair cost these days. Still, if it's true, you just have to sit back and trust the club knows what it's doing.

Isn't diving just rampant in football now? It seems to happen all over. Must be nightmare for refs trying to sort out the real fouls from the play acting.

^^^ this. I think as we are pushing in and around the CL places the club won't sell in Jan unless the money is stupidly high. I don't think Arsenal or Spurs will stump up the cash for him so that leaves only Man U who might take him in the PL IMO. I'd like to see him go abroad myself.

Depends if we finisher higher than Liverpool and Arsenal, if we finish higher (not a given by any means), a lot of the CL talk from the want away players will still look pretty funny to me. Lovern alone could keep this thread going for some time.

Morgan will be gone this summer and victor has said he wants regular CL in the next two years so he'll be gone soon. Mind you this kid would have to be freaking awesome to replace either of them at 16 years old.

I like long but why would you not play Mane in his current form? Plus Mane won't be playing for us after the Arsenal match for a while so keep Long fresh and injury free if we can IMO
