  1. Thats not good news Leicester have been dire so far and were falling away nicely. I can see Nigel getting good results with the foxes squad and putting a decent run together. Might see Hull fall away into mid-table now though.
  2. yeah meant to put a ? at the end of the title.
  3. Yes we wondered the same thing. Still Salisbury also seems to be in Hampshire as well as Bournemouth and the Isle of Wight which make for some fun away days for an hour of under 11s football...
  4. No my nipper plays for hedge end. Hoping the cup will provide some light relief from the league were we are on a 5 match losing streak.
  5. MK Dons are expanding staduim MK to around 32.000 despite getting crowds of around 8,000 it seems that they have plans to use it for lots of non-football related things. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15636043.stm I know expanding SMS has been a topic around here for a while the main bone of contention being would we fill an enlarged SMS. But maybe there is money to be made from non footballing activites that would make having a larger stadium profitable, even if we don't fill it with saints fans. God knows what the atmosphere will be like at MK Dons home matches though with the place only a quarter full, it wasn't exactly good before. Same goes for SMS wouldn't enjoy a 45,000 seat stadium with 15,000 empty seats.
  6. I've been to Sachsenhausen Labour camp, which is right outside Berlin apparently after the war the local Germans claimed they didn't know what went on there...
  7. Seeing as Nigel bought him as a pacy impact player I think you're right, though De-ridder showing up didn't really help Jonno's cause much.
  8. Really there was I thinking it was team game? I seem to remember someone passing to him for the two taps in. I agree though he hasn't done anything to warrant some of the comments above...
  9. Hedge end rangers under 11 away to Thatcham Tornadoes under 11 in the Hampshire cup.
  10. I wonder how Brighton's 38 year old retired LB/coach will do up against Frazer and Chappers..... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/brighton/9633418.stm
  11. Oh come on Turkish with our catchement area 45,000 is never going to be enough. There will be 30k of fans who will come flooding back once we're in the PL happy to pay £60+ a ticket to boot.
  12. Brighton fans have their thread up. They seem to be quite confident..... http://www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?219079-Saints-match
  13. One plus point I suppose is saints players will start appearing on Match attax cards Richard Lambert attack 45 defence 26 woohooo my 9 year old will be excited
  14. The football club needs the PL - not getting there has to many negative impacts. You're either in the finacial elite or you're struggling - for that reason we have to get to the PL. As a football fan - I don't need the PL and all it's over hyped bollix and would be quite happy if saints never went back there. I have had in general a lot more fun supporting saints in league 1 and the champ than I remember in the PL. Probably best just to enjoy the moment while it lasts.
  15. He's to busy setting everyone else up, Rickie has to be one of the most unselfish strikers I've ever seen.
  16. Yeah the joys of things on the internet. I think Dons were a close call (supposedly) saved by moving to MK.
  17. Well it is hindsight unless you tell me you knew a swiss billionaire was buying us before it happened. At no point did I claim we were the same as any of the clubs on that list all it illustrates is how well we did out of admin and how many teams didn't do that well. Some of them have been in admin more than once no doubt becuase the first chancers to buy them didn't have a pot to **** in and end up in trouble only a few years later. If a swiss billionaire had bought pretty much any of the clubs on that list and invested they would probably be in a better place than they're are now. We could have end up like leeds and had someone like Ken Bates FFS. We did very very well out of admin, many clubs don't.
  18. Good summing up. I'm glad some where so confident that Admin would work out this well for us, I didn't feel it at the time though only a fool would argue it hasn't. Interesting list of clubs in Admin from the 80s below not to many of them setting the world alight these days. In hindsight we were probably one of the most attractive clubs on that list but it didn't feel like that at the time to me (just look at stockport who went into admin a few months after us). Charlton 1984 Middlesbrough 1986 Tranmere 1987 Newport County 1989 Walsall 1990 Northampton 1992 Kettering 1992 Aldershot 1992 Maidstone 1992 Hartlepool 1994 Barnet 1994 Exeter 1994, 2003 Gillingham 1995 Doncaster 1997 Millwall 1997 Bournemouth 1997, 2008 Darlington 1997, 2009 Chester 1998, 2009 Hereford 1998 Portsmouth 1999, 2010 Crystal Palace 1999, 2010 Oxford Utd 1999 Barrow 1999 Swindon 2000, 2002 Scarborough 2000 Hull 2001 QPR 2001 Chesterfield 2001 Leicester 2002 Barnsley 2002 Carlisle 2002 Notts County 2002 Bury 2002 Bradford 2002 Port Vale 2002 Lincoln City 2002 Swansea City 2002 York 2002 Halifax Town 2002, 2008 Derby 2003 Ipswich 2003 Huddersfield 2003 Oldham 2003 MK Dons 2003 Wimbledon 2003 Wrexham 2004 Cambridge 2005 Crawley Town 2006 Rotherham 2006, 2008 Leeds United 2007 Boston United 2007 Southampton 2008 Luton 2008 Stockport 2009 Salisbury 2009
  19. The joy of hindsight as others have posted we got very lucky, things could have been a lot different.
  20. Thats the most interesting description of Matabeleland I've ever heard. Matabeleland was a strong well organised kingdom (if rather agressive with it's neighbours). Sadly for the Matabele gold was discovered on the land hence the need for Rhodes to have them machine gunned.
  21. If things carry on they way they are we can looked forward to being last on MOTD every week (unless we're playing a team from Manchester) followed by that cock Lawrenson slagging us off.....
  22. Are Westham any good or just very lucky? I just expected them to be a lot better they looked pretty poor against Hull yet still won. Guly looked the dogs in those highlights wish they wouldn't call him julie though. LOL Fire alarm at boro.....though to be fair the place looked empty before the fire alarm.....
