5 strikers who will still get less goals combined than Harry Kane this season... -
Hughes is talking about Forster at the end of this echo article http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/16439149.southampton-manager-mark-hughes-on-sam-gallagher-and-fraser-forster/ There have been approaches but as yet nothing that has taken Forster’s fancy, but Hughes admitted a move abroad could provide the answer if the right team comes in for him. “There have been clubs in, some that Fraser didn’t feel were right for him, and that’s his prerogative,” he reported. “I think if a good option comes for him then Fraser will look seriously at them. “His situation is not what he wants because he wants to play and I have told him he needs to play.

I can't believe Pompey got themselves knocked out again. Is a proper south coast derby to much to ask for?

We aren't talking about relegation we are talking about the situation we and 14 other clubs would be in if the big boys left and the PL died. I'm challenging MLTs assertion I would be a disaster because we would see a lesser quality of football than now. It would make **** all difference to me I'd still be a saints fan and go and watch them. I'm guessing you wouldn't? -

Why would we need to? If the big boys **** off to form a super league we and the 14 other clubs will just end up in the same boat as the football league sides. That be a period of re-adjustment but hardly a massive drama. -

Which matters how? Real saints fans would go regardless of the league or quality of players because its our club and we want to support them. We where in the PL allegedly watching PL players last season at it was about as enjoyable as getting your scrotum waxed. -

You are assuming that peoples enjoyment is based purely on big name players ...it isn't I got plenty of enjoyment out of games watching Danny Butterfield and Dean Hammond as I did watching VVD and Mane. -
You're not going? I'm disappointed with your lack of passion... As someone earlier on the thread stated. "Fans need to stop taking crap from these idiots. WHU fans proving what's possible with a show of passion These clowns have had it far too easy. Unfortunately our fanbase lacks passion"

LOL Behave. Would you want Shane Long or Luke Shaw trying to work out what life saving medical help you need? Or Sadio Mane and Jordon Henderson trying to cut you safely out of crashed car while not giving you spine trauma....

I assume we aren't interested in anything he says when we win only what he says when we win or draw as managers don't make "excuses" when they win.
-
My point is why should they have to fight for a place in a "Champions" league while a side who won nothing but came third in a major league walk straight in?
-
I don't give a crap who plays the final in less saints are in it and as you pointed out those teams are never going to reach the final anyway. The champions league is just another way of ensuring the rich get richer an exclusive club for already rich clubs. Keeping out the winners of the smaller leagues is just another way to ensure they don't have to share the wealth. Might as well call it the elite league rather than the Champions league. I'd much rather they ran like the old days as a cup competition rather than a league. League winners and cup winners from every league in UEFA knockout rounds and if little old Caernarfon Town some how knock out Barcelona in round three ... fine by me
-
So make it two tiers instead of Europa have champions league one and two but make it the winners of the cups and the league you finish third in your league tough titties
-
I can understand that. I realise leagues are weighted depending on the perceived competiveness or size but Celtic won their league and are champions meanwhile the team that comes third in the PL just walks straight in. If it really is a "champions" league it should contain the teams that won their respective leagues and cup trophies rather than teams that came second and third.

Don't forget Leicester they won the league refused to sell Vardy and Mahrez spent a bit of cash and now look at them really challenging the big boys that could have been saints if we'd just shown some ambition... -

I know people like to highlight the perceived hypocrisy of the way saints fan treat various leavers of the last few years but it isn't really that hard to understand it just comes down to perception (which might not necessarily be the reality) of how a players managed the move. Lambert did it while maintaining a air of respect for saints that some other leavers just didn't manage.
-
I don't disagree but watching the highlights ( I was at the game to) Austin wasn't as bad as people make out and involved in a few of our better chances. Who ever played the first 60 minutes as striker would looked poor as,we had no control of midfield insolating the striker.
