Still guess work on your part as far as I can tell you have no idea what VVD and Tadic where on or what the four (now five) new guys are on. As an example of just taking a guess the only saints player whose wages I'm pretty certain of is Targett's (thanks to a source close to him) and that's 45K a week. If he is being paid that as a back up left back I could quite easily see the new guys getting similar as thier weekly wage that's another 11.7 million added to wage bill on five new signings in that comes down to how much Tadic and VVD where on and how much of Gudio and Boufals wages are being paid by their loan clubs but we could easily be close to the extra 7 million...but with out accurate weekly wages for all our players its impossible to really know.

Yeah I was pretty happy with our other four signings its just this one that I find Meh... Armstrong looks like he is going to be a good player at a bargain price Gunn was 15 million well spent to keep Forster away from the 1st team Mo has shown glimpses in pre-season he might not hit Tadic's heights but he looks a good addition Vestergaard was clearly signed to try and stop us being dominated in the air at the back by the likes of Giroud, Vokes and Murray don't know if he will work out but at least I could see what the club where trying to do This is 18-20 million for a Liverpool cast off with a terrible injury record and a not overly impressive goal record...ah well maybe it will work out
-
So we got another striking option then. Should make people happy.
-
Jeez I could live with a season long loan but 16-18 million next year Liverpool just love to **** us in the a r s e don't they? Not content with nicking all our talent they are now selling us their crappy cast offs
-
There was mention of us being interested to.
-
as in Harry the Bournemouth player?
-
I would have preferd Vokes if I'm honest..
-
Well people wanted another striker and they got one. I assume Ings and Austin are job sharing this season then.
-
You have to invest in the right players though as we and many other teams ,outside the big six, has shown spending big money on the wrong players is just as damaging as not spending. There are an awful lot of average players going for a lot of money and while the big clubs can soak up a couple of flops it can kill smaller PL teams.
-
We have no idea who our big earners are or what our new signings are earning you're just making assumptions and taking guesses on what players are earning. I've seen PL teams wages published all over the internet and no two sites ever agree with each other either on individual players or team wage bills. As an example on the Forster thread alone we had people claiming he is earning 100, 95, 90 and 60k a week. I'm not saying your wrong or right but your argument would hold more water I you could provide a detailed break down of our squads wages.
-
I hope your guess is wrong. Assuming some one is flying in now how long have got left to tie this up?
-
Last season lots of people on here seem to be of the opinion we had a decent squad poorly managed. We brought in a new manager that most people seemed happy with a few weeks ago. We've brought in four new players to bolster the squad and made sure Forster never sees first team action again and now people think we are more likely to be relegated than last season?
-
Well if he had actually been creative we might not have needed saving from relegation by his one wonder goal. Any one trying to credit our survival last season to Boufal is having a laugh..
-
Surely that depends on how Mo works out?

An interesting article on Chinese football investment

We should be fine I don't think our owner has, or plans to, invested anything has he? -
People said Les was in Spain right? Probably nothing but Brighton and Southampton target Martin Montoya has been excused from training today by Spanish giants Valencia. http://www.insidefutbol.com/2018/08/09/brighton-and-southampton-target-granted-permission-to-miss-training-by-valencia/385623/

Summer 2018 - Other teams Manager/transfer business
doddisalegend replied to Batman's topic in The Saints
Out of interest does anyone know how many of their signings are clients of Jorge Mendes. Seems like we should be looking to find a super agent to be an advisor to our club.. -
A couple of positive things about this summer among all the gloom. We did our business quite early at least those players we have signed arrived early in pre-season and have been involved in training and playing friendlies that can only help in the early games of the season. We replaced Tadic with a like for like type player ( yes I realise he might turn out not to be as good as Tadic) straight away something we have been guilty of not doing the last few transfer windows. So while we might not have got all the players and cash spunked we would have liked maybe the club have learnt a couple of lessons after the last few windows. ...or is that a bit to positive?

Matt Targett - Joins Aston Villa (Official)
doddisalegend replied to Kaiser Soze's topic in The Saints
Says deal looks likely. I wonder if that is likely like Walcott or Promes or actually likely -
Not sure why people are bothering to put up teams in formations that we clearly aren't going to play this season. Hughes swapped to five at the back last season got some results and judging by pre-season is going to stick with it this season. I really don't see him practising and playing five at the back all through pre-season only to swap to a completely different system as soon as the first game of the season starts

Or the Celta Vigo midfielder Lobotka http://sportwitness.co.uk/midfielder-interacting-repeat-way-tottenham-southampton-e25m-offer-goes/

Cedric Soares - Official: Loaned to Arsenal
doddisalegend replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
I read somewhere on the net the other day (no idea where now though) that the season under MoPe Cedric made four errors leading to goal the season before under Puel he made no errors leading to a goal. Don't kniw how true that is but it would certainly underline how his form dropped off last season. -
No he is far worse cost us a load of points with his comical goal keeping we would have been relegated if he had stayed our No1 last season. £15 million to never see him playing for the first team is money well spent in my book.
