I wonder what our resident trolls are up to these days now that there is no football to bet on? -

Hmmm. I wonder whether the appearance of this story is an attempt to flush out any more potential buyers. -
If the Premier League is voided will the Saints web Prediction League also be consigned to oblivion?? I sincerely hope so.

I don't expect that many of the people who call it the "Chinese virus" have any Chinese friends.

Premier League clubs set for summit with health v money top of agenda https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/apr/30/premier-league-clubs-meet-medicine-v-money-top-agenda? An interesting summary of the position of the Premier League.

Duncan Spedding. I looked him up on Saturday evening when the website opened. My wife met him briefly about 20 years ago and he gave us a signed football. It was one of junior Tamesaint's most prized possessions when he was growing up.

An amazing interview this lunchtime with some female supporter of Trump - I think that her name was Mrs Guided Missile or something. Apparently Trump wasnt being sarcastic when he talked about Dettol injections. He thought he was being sarcastic but Mrs GM claimed that he wasnt. He was just putting forward suggestions to be investigated and the Lying media misreported it. I can just see the Noble (sic - Trump's spelling of Nobel) prize committee viewing his application now. Its all so clear now .....
-
You missed out arrogant.
-
I wonder if Trump is going for the Nobel Prize for medicine or for chemistry??

Calling Guided Missile to the testing room.

Trump lost the popular vote in 2016 and it was only the electoral college based system that saved his bacon. That was when he was facing an unpopular Democrat candidate and a divided party. Now Sanders has already thrown his support behind Biden who is less divisive than Hilary Clinton. Biden's support base is also widened by people/ those minorities who continue to have fond memories of the Obama regime. Biden may well be an old man but Trump is no spring chicken. An inspired choice of running mate (Kamala Harris would fit the bill) would also widen his support base further. It will not of course be a shoo in for Biden. The title of POTUS will earn Trump some support. He will also have plenty of opportunities for good old fashioned "gerrymandering. " Democrat voters will find it harder to cast their votes than voters in Republican areas. Nevertheless in the end I think that Trump will be defeated.

Trump won't win in November.

Exactly the same. An awful day but memorable for one of those "where were you when" moments.

Westie on this thread reminds me of the Black Knight in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. He was the comic figure who wanted to fight - even as his limbs were being hacked off. There is the aggression. (" Come back you cowards" from the Black Knight // "Dinlos," "Dullard" from Westie). There is the keenness and determination to fight ( "I'll bite you to death" from the limbless knight // the best part of 40 posts on this thread in 24 hours from Westie). The idiocy of their argument ( "I will stop you all from passing " by the knight // countless examples from Westie but the latest is the 80%/500,000 debate). I am sure that there are other similarities. Perhaps the "you are just a loony" comment from Graham Chapman is one of the most apt.

Why not? I would love to know what Johnson would have to do to "screw up" in your eyes? Has his handling of covid done everything to cause you to criticise him ?
-
Really? Do you really think so? Please divulge.

Exactly. This is where the Government has let us all down so badly. For some reason, because we were British, we didn't need to follow the procedures then being followed by many other European countries. The Cheltenham racing festival, which attracted some 250,000, would never have been allowed to happen in almost any other country. I know someone who has died after catching covid from a Cheltenham racegoer. Being British didn't help him.

Just wait for one of the resident nutters on here to appear and claim that Boris is "playing a blinder."
