  1. Important point that. That is very frustrating.
  2. As I say benjii - based on our current team's performance, I should have included 'and manager' but I thought that was implied! Sack Wotte and we might not relegate to League 2, but we need more than those in the current squad WHO WILL STAY to get out of League 1.
  3. Could be that if we are to lose the 10 points (which we are) the price of the Club is less and Fry is forced to sell for a smaller price thus releasing more funds for managerial selection and players. They may be waiting to assess exactly how much the manager is going to get to spend.
  4. Put it this way. Our team of this season would struggle to stay in League 1, based on a couple of games I have seen at strugglers Swindon. The players we have do 2 things well and one thing badly. In League 1 the average is 3 things well one thing badly.
  5. It is not a no-brainer for 19... come on 19 tell us exactly where you stand. We'll be bought out Mike.
  6. Not the question I asked. Who has contributed more to SFC 19? But I'd say the answer to your question CL is not necessarily Lawrie Mac! You need a c. Both.
  7. OK - if this is true on the Canadian bid I wouldnt right it off but I would prefer to opt for the MLT consortium as it hints on a lack of funding. But I say that without knowing the facts - it may be a good idea. Pinnacle are wise here. The 10 points deduction mean that any plan to hit the Premier League in 5 years is almost certainly delayed a year. Thus funding would need to be more cleverly spread or increased and may impact on the type of manager employed. MLT's association gives me a degree of confidence I have to say. Certainly seems to be the best 'feel good factor' bid.
  8. We know about most of these but it is still nice to have the stories 'confirmed'. What I am looking forward to hearing are the stories about Lowe from the plethora of managers and players we have seen through here... hence the Confidentiality Clause question. MLT has started to give out the odd snippett, I wonder how long before we have some more stories about the mismanagement of the club from those really in the know.
  9. For the record 19 answer this please for everyone on here: Who has done the most for this Club: a. Lowe b. Lawrie Mac a or b?
  10. I think Lawrie is trying to do a wonderful thing, but a buyer is coming. People are waiting to support the new manager and team once its known. Commendable Lawrie and he has put together a super evening potentially.
  11. 3. There is an international one remaining out of the limelight for some reason...mmmm. Imagine if we'd sold ourselves as a Premiership concern, imagine if we'd sold ourselves not long after relegation. Imagine if we'd sold ourselves last year to SISU. Now look at who we are selling ourselves to now. You are wrong SOG. We couldve sold this Club for years. But each time we didnt the quality of buyer fell. We are not being bought out because we're bargain basement - we're being bought out for our fanbase, infrastructure and marketting potential - that was and is always there. SISU proved one thing - there were always buyers for this club, they were just the one that was confirmed and became open knowledge. The interest now shown also proves it.
  12. GM - please tell everyone why you posted this, some people dont get it and think its real!
  13. Tricky when we can't compare the options... and frustrating. But we have no choice now, had we sold a year ago we could have scrutinised, now we are in Fry's hands.
  14. 38 when we're cheap and no doubt at least one when we werent. Always been buyers Nick. Always been members of the boardroom looking for their own power and status before club. Sorry but we collectively should never have allowed Lowe to reemerge last summer but got off our punchdrunk backsides and sought a buyer with legends, boardmembers, MPs et al then. Shame it has taken administration, relegation and the near complete destruction of our team to get to the stage where people act. Still onwards and upwards eh?
  15. Messageboard boycott? Can't see it catching on.
  16. To be honest I think most fans think all this benefit stuff is irrelevant as we're about to be taken over.
  17. That's true. But, to get the right manager you need to spend cash though. And in our case - with the stripping out of the team this summer - we'll need to spend a packet on new players. We need to get someone like Ince IMHO, on a long contract, and with some cash to buy the nucleus of a decent side. Our current players and manager (& -10pts) are likely to relegate us. Priority number 1: ignore the consortium 5 year plans to the Premiership etc etc and employing Dutch coaches for £60K, it is BUY THE BEST MANAGER YOU CAN AND SPEND TO DO IT. If nothing else it eventually produces that well balanced and managed team regardless of the current crop of players.
  18. Which is why Lowe, Wilde, Crouch et al should have SOLD the club to SISU or to another owner last summer. The ultimate incompetence along the whole road of mismanagement was what happened last summer. Putting in Lowe and failing to put the club up for sale was sheer incompetence. As has been proven for weeks now, Saints have always have people out there who wanted to buy us.
  19. Of course - the point I am making (again sadly) it that we have an instant start point internationally with an ambitious foreign owner.
  20. He was paid severence the last time he was sacked. Details are here: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/untoldstories/4350803.Supremos_poles_apart_financially/
  21. Phew on MLT and management! I dont think it IS a 2 horse race though... the international option has remained very much out of the limelight but appears to still be on the table. But this is certainly my second choice in principle, without seeing the international bid details.
  22. Shame though. When Southampton was a great club (pre-Lowe plc) we all used to enjoy the respect that was generated from others. Hope we can get that back. Right now Crouch, Lowe, Wilde, Wotte and to a certain extent Fry over the points deductions fiasco have dug us a trench which frankly isnt in the Spirit of what this Club was and is.
  23. Shouldnt really be surprised on that. Surely the SCW debacle and Simon Clifford's appointment by Lowe should be all the evidence you need to know that Lowe was likely to do this. Looking forward to reading about this one in The Echo. SCW, Kim van der Waals and Simon Clifford. Lowe was a genius.
