Get with the times Grandad. His ‘laddy’ behaviour would irritate me after a while but he’s in the dressing room with a load of early 20 somethings who would probably irritate the **** out of me too, so I’m sure he fits in.

When he was here and before he could drive, we were training twice a day under Poch. He would get dropped off at home in-between sessions, order a dominoes, sleep and then get a taxi back to training. Pretty much every day! His diet was horrendous and doesn't seem to be much better there.

Exactly. If we lose to Colombia then Brazil would have absolutely killed us. That isn't disrespectful to Colombia, they could well beat us, but it's just fact. I'm not interested in glamour ties, I want England to have the best possible chance to reach a World Cup semi-final. When we lost to Brazil in 02 I can't remember anyone saying how pleased they were with the result and that thank god we went out to Brazil rather then beat Hungary or whoever. For all the talk of momentum and other ********, we have to beat two of Colombia, Sweden and Switzerland. Who wouldn't have taken that beforehand? For what it's worth, I think we'll do it and reach the semis.

Get a few early yellow cards and then play for the draw. It's easier to try and not particualrly attack, you only had to watch the France Denmark horror show yesterday!

I know people harp on about momentum, but I think it’s important to finish second in the group. Much better chance of a semi final appearance on that side of the draw.

No chance why England can’t have a really strong tournament here. The standard is pretty weak all round. I think a potential semi final (and complete national bedlam) is on the cards.
