  1. Dont understand the love-in with Vieira, we all know he was a great player but his managerial record is appalling
  2. Exactly! We've known for ages, the team never gave any sign that things would change, so there was no shock, just disappointment spread over a long period. Last time it all hung on the last match, and we took the lead and hopes were high until the last 45 mins of the season. Very different this time.
  3. Several (most) have looked inept (polite word) but they aren't, they are good players some very good indeed, international standard. The managers/coaches have failed to bring anything like the best out of them --no continuity, no recognisable style, changes changes changes sometimes three systems in one game--enough to destroy any player.
  4. Experienced in what? Playing, like Lampard and Rooney? No thanks. Experienced as managers---Rafa, Poch etc yes please, but why would they take a step down, that's the problem. I believe Sport Republic are well intentioned and have had a big shock. They will reorganise themselves, come to their senses and repair the damage they have done. That's our hope, r
  5. You wouldn't recognise Terry Gennoe, didn't he make a club record and keep seven clean sheets in a row? And then made blunders and cost us the Final at Wembey against Forest?
  6. 20M for a young goalscorer? 40mill at least, he will be a hit next season and his value will rocket. His manager knows how to use him. That never happened here
  7. Does anyone remember Terry Paine going in goal against Pompey at Fratton? Our goaly had been injured (fouled} I can't remember who it was (Reynolds?) I think we drew.
  8. Potter is my first choice. Could be perfect for him and for us. He got Brighton from nowhere playing very attacking style. O for the days when that was our style....not just Ron Davies Mike Channon Martin Chivers but also Phil Boyer, George O'Bryan, Derek Reeves and of course Steve Moran all in the steps of Charlie Wayman, we've always had goalscorers. Potter is my choice to bring back style. Chelsea was overloaded with millionaire egos, not his fault they were so bloated. He wouldn't have that trouble here. He wore the red and white a few times, he must know he is the perfect fit.

Walcott actually merited his place to my surprise. Sad way for his career to end but he was one of our better players in this disaster of a relegation capitulation.
  10. Passing the ball back and square, back and square and again does not win matches, is a pointless exercise boring to watch and frustrating in the extreme and we've been doing it all season with the results we've got.
  11. No more lower league experiments thank youi
  12. That's what was said about Mane
  13. yes, like Jones who did an amazing job at Luton
  14. I dont believe the problem is lack of effort from the players. They've lost confidence (so have i) and they are clearly depressed (who isn't?) but a goal--even one--could begin to change all that. We just don't get a goal to raise the spirit of the crowd or the players. The problem isn't lack of effort it is lack of direction, they all run around like headless chickens but it is wasted effort. And that is down to the management more than the players.

WE wont want to keep them but they have contracts and wont want to go. We're lumbered.
  16. Yes, Man City trusted us with some Academy youngsters becos we have had a good record producing young talent and Ralph had a good reputation as a coach. After this shambles we won't get top clubs trusting us with young talent again. We've messed them up, as well as ourselves
  17. Yes, but to get those points we have to score a goal and when will we do that?
  18. Yes Ralph would be here and we would be in top half
  19. Can anyone explain to me what is attractive about Marsch as manager? What has he ever done to be considered? I know he would have been better than the madman who got our job but that doesn't say much.
  20. Who will clear them out?
  21. if you've no confidence in your defence, all the more important to build the attack. That's just common sense
  22. We are not hopeless. We have several very good players but no one who puts the ball in the net. Is this because they are incapable or because the coaching is wrong and makes us look hopeless.?
  23. Those of us who remember last time will say 'yes, it really is that bad'. No, we didn't boss the league and come straight back up. We struggled and struggled and then got relegated again. It was five years before it was enjoyable.
  24. The ones you list as key players to hold are the ones other Clubs will want and the ones you list as 'to exit' are the ones who will stay until contract expires becos no other Club will top the wages we pay. That's the problem relegation brings. The power lies with the players
  25. Alcares is the only creative player we have. We are passive/negative. We lack any creativity---so Alcares is on the bench. Is this Alice inn Wonderland?
