  1. Whether we go up or not we need to replace 5 or 6 of the players. We were a bit of a surprise package this season - and had the momentum at the start of the season. I'm not sure this same team would make it to the play-offs next season. We need two fullbacks that can defend - at least one new first choice centre back - wingers with pace - a centre forward with pace, power and physical presence to lead the line - and more strength in depth. I still think we should have bought Juktiewitz in January to lead the line and to provide cover for Lambert - as well as giving us two tall players upfront to grind out results.
  2. Boro wanted it more! Our fullbacks cannott defend! We can't grind out a draw! We lack real pace! And it seems our players lack the desire!
  3. I'm not sure our layers can take the pressure - or have the desire! Why oh why can't our players close down other teams on the edge of he box - we let players run at us - give them time and space - and give goals away!
  4. I'm not laughing right now I have to say!

    Oh, Fonte....

I think Fonte has reached his level - whether we go up or not he needs to be dropped to the bench next season and we need to bring in one if not two first choice centre backs.
  6. Riyo Miyachi, Jonjo Shelvey, Josh McCreachan, Henri Lansbury - any of those on loan could be good!
  7. Whichever division we are in next season I think we'll make bids for Hooper and Jay Rod, possibly Matt Phillips, and probably Upson and Scott Dann. Signing them is another matter though as other clubs will be interested in them - obviously if we do get promoted we'll have a much better chance of doing so!
  8. Blimey I can't believe The Portsmouth News actually printed that article - I thought the Echo was bad!
  9. Well thanks for jinxing that!
  10. Well let's hope Coventry don't spoil our party then - coz it looks like they might need to win the last game to stay up.
  11. Reading are like the Wigan of the South - a small town club with a better a bigger and better rugby team than football team - and a wealthy owner
  12. We pass the ball too much - we take 3 passes to move the ball across or down the pitch when it should take one - we take two or three touches when it needs one touch football We seem scared to make the killer pass or though ball or shoot - and lay it off or go wide for the cross - it's ver predictable and too slow We lack pace up front and down the wings - and make too many individual errors at the back Whichever division we are in next season we need pace, power and height up front and pace on the wings - and more depth in the squad Sharp, Do Prado and De Ridder need to be moved on - and we need to bring in 2 centre backs, 2 wingers, 2 fullbacks and a centre forward Today's loss felt like the ones against Derby in the play-off season. We may have the prettiest team but I'd rather be brutally effective like Reading tonight That Reading team wouldn't have drawn to derby games with their dirty neighbours when they were there for he slaughtering like we did
  13. We p*ss around with the football too much. reading showed how to attack with pace and a direct style. Yes we had 12 shots on target to their 4 but how many times did we cutback or take two touches when it was crying out for a first to ball and simple one touch football Billy Sharp was a waste of space today - we're desperate for a striker with pace, power and height to lead the line. It's not that he's a bad player - he just doesn't have the physical attributes we need upfront

    Chaplow

Why oh why didn't he play on Saturday!?
  15. Henri Lansbury and Jonjo Shelvey?
  16. If he goes anywhere it will be Reading Hooper from Celtic and Jay Rodriguez from Burnley are more likely signings for us - whether we go up or not.
  17. We also lack wingers with real pace who will give the team width Our best midfield is Lallana, Schneiderlin, Cork and Chaplow. Do Prado and De Ridder are both weak links - they don't give us enough going forward - and neither provides enough cover defensively. Do Prado is probably better as a forward. If only we'd kept Andrew Surman and Oscar Gobern and brought in Jonjo Shelvey on loan this season.
  18. Could be the point that sees us both in the same division next season. A south coast derby is more the just another game. Both draws this season have been like wins to the Skates - and felt like losses to us.
  19. I hope they all get banned - if you dont think it played a part in our players losing focus and Norris scoring the equaliser your simply wrong! Idiots!
  20. Our support was terrible once Pompey scored the equaliser but with the way our players were playing we all though there we go again - and do you know what we were right! One big point - what were you all doing in the bloody pub until kick-off!?! The skates were in the ground 30 mins before kick-off making their players feel at home. If we'd had a packed ground for the warm up maybe we could have unsettled the Pompey players - put the fear of St Mary's in them and won the bloody thing before a ball was even kicked!!!
  21. Thats alright and everything - but I really really wanted to be those dirty skate b*stards - and not just beat them - smash them - to wash away all that pain from the cup defeat and our relegation season - that's twice they've got away with it and got a fecking draw! Well yet again they will be the ones Sha la la bloody la la...ing and laughing tonight! The players really let us ths fans down again. And I've got to go around the bloody skate brother-in-laws tomorrow and play nice!
  22. No end product - at all!

    Guly

Neither De Ridder or Do Prado are good enough - simples
  24. There keeper made at least 3 if not 4 great saves by they deserved the draw if not more. But their players wanted it more than ours. Do Prado had another bad game - he has game changing moments but for a while now his moments have cost us. At the start of the season his moments of magic were creating goals - now his moments are when he fails to close or chase the ball and the opposition are gifted the ball. Such a moment led to the first Pompey goal which really came out of nothing. Surely after the game at Fratton Park where he bottled it he shoul have been on the bench for this one at best. De Ridder also had yet bother one of those days where he runs fast with ball but fails to do anything with it. He beats his man creates the space, open the game up for the through ball to a red and white shirt with time and space in the box - but does he pass it - oh no he doesn't - he runs down a blind alley snd yet again fails to get the cross in, loses the ball or smashes over the bar! Sharp scored two goals - But he goes down far too easily - and way too often. And why were we playing long balls to the shortest man on the pitch!? Lallana also went down too easily - and really should have stayed on his feet to score at the end. Morgan's injury could be the worst result from today's game - he's more important to us than most people realise. We will really miss him if he's out for long. Cork had a great time - we really need him to step up now - and for Chaplow to get his form back. Our fullbacks need to learn how to defend and the whole team need to learn how to defend against width and pace. And why oh why did we kick the ball long with a minute to - giving away possession??? I have a horrible feeling today's result could well see us play each other again next season in the same division. Momentum can be a horrible thing. And despite what anyone may say todays was not just another game. Pompey have done the double on us this season from where I'm sitting - our players have really let us down when it matters in my opinion! Whichever division we're in next season Guly and Steve need to be replaced - and we need tovbuy fullbacks that can actually defend!
  25. I was sat right behind the goal for the second half in the front row - Grobbelaar let the goals in - I distinctly remember him diving for a save with his arm outstretched but folding his arm back as he did so he failed to save the hit and hope shot from Ronnie Rosenthal.
