Am I the only one that thinks this transfer deal is all about selling shirts in Japan (and maybe Korea as well)? I'm just not convinced a player used to the J League will give us what we need in the English Championship to get us promoted - or that he'll cope with the speed and physicality of the Premier League is we ever get back there either. I can see him frustrating the crowd in the same way that Do Prado does now. I'd be much happier if we were signing Lucas Juktiewitz who has proved he can get goals in the Championship for a bad team.
-
Brighton fans would argue we only won the game at St Marys due to dodgy refereeing - although I would argue that we won that game despite the referee as he was truly awful. He seemed to get virtually every decision wrong! But we were 1-0 up and would have won anyway!

# blimey you lot are a right bunch of muppets - read it again - at no point did it say we wouldn't bring any players in! Aaron Martin needs playing time to improve and the only place he's going to get a lot of that is probably another club in League 1 - saying that he was great covering for Fonte last night so may get a run in the team if Jose is out injured for a while. But I have a feeling we're still going to sign another centre back Seabourne is probably nowhere near being match fit for the Championship - and I can see him going on loan to get games under his belt - and for the same reason as Martin as we don't have a reserve team to get them game time or match fit Dean and Doble are already on short term loans and Puncheon is already halfway out the door - and Forte is rumoured to be on his way - and Bart is another that needs to move to get games Holmes looks like he'll stay though as his 2 or 3 touches against Bristol City when he came on last night was pure class - so I'll take that one back

Lee Holmes out on loan to a League 1 club Jonno Quick Forte - Walsall for a small feee Bartosz Bialkowski on loan to a League 1 club or back to Poland for a small fee Puncheon to Blackpool in part exchange for Matt Phillips or £ cash to Millwall Aaron Martin out on loan Dan Seabourne out on loan if he is anywhere near fit Harlee Dean on loan to Brentford Ryan Doble out on loan
-
It will be Jay Roriguez and Lucas Juktiewitz
-
but Martin O'Neill was in Winchester that infamous time - he was visiting Steve Guppy
-
We need two strikers really - someone who can provide cover for Lambert - a big man such as Juktiewtiz who can also lead the line - and a fast pacey striker to lead the line and play in front of Lambert such as Maynard. I really think we should have signed Jukiewitz from Coventry on loan - he would have made a big difference today in place of Do Prado. His signing probably would have given the whole club some impetus . And I couldn't see him chickening out of the 50/50 header with Ward like Guly did today! I'd like to see us bring in Juktiewitz and Maynard as early as possible in January - and push on from there!
-
Guly cost us the win today - chickened out of the header to let Pomey equalise, failed to chase the ball or close down for much of the game!

what about a decent pub in Winchester?
-
he's your father in-law - he's not your father - fake an illness and stay home to watch the game if he's a rugger b*gger he deserves no less
-
its on BBC 1 isn't it?
-
we obviously need to move some players on in January such as Holmes, Forte, Seabourne, Puncheon, Dickson or Harding, Jaidi, Connolly for example to free up some money on the wage bill
-
My brother-in-law will be in the home end with his cousin. My nephew - his son - has a season ticket at St Marys along with me and my father. We're not taking to Fratton Park for this game though - although he's been there a few times with his Dad.
-
Nope - they all play football in Scotland which as we have learnt to our cost means they are ****e - a la Neil McCannt and Rudi 'bloody useless' Skacel! just look at Middlesbrough last season if you need further proof! And before you say it Hoovied proves the point as Celtic never really played him -coz he made everybody else look really bad!
-
And how exactly are they going to get promoted when they are 3rd from bottom and in all probability going to lose Nicky Maynard in the January transfer window? And people think some of our fans are deluded!
-
I hope they play that new song by Jessica Lowndes - her off 90210 - 'I wish I was Gay' - now that would make me laugh!
-
if they play like they did at St Mary's last season 'Boring Boring Brighton' should do it - but I have a feeling We're Southampton we're top of the league' will simply be enough to wind them up quite a bit!
-
he's not playing for Wolves and will score goals in the Championship - so I'd bring him in on loan now and see where it goes from there in January. We need a couple of young powerful strikers around the 22 age bracket with potential and the ability to score goals at this level - Connolly at 34 and with his injury record isn't going to last forever - that Leaves Do Prado and Lambert who are both 29/30 and Barnard who is 26/27. Vokes and Juktiewitz would fit the bill whether they were Saints fans or not - much like Jay Rodriguez. The fact they are both Saints fans is just a big plus - they would give a little bit more and care a lot more than most players - and how good would it be to see either score against Pompey!
-
It's funny how other fans don't seem to get it that when we went into administration every debt was paid in full - other than to the bank which held the mortgage on the stadium who accepted lower figure for an early settlement as they needed the money more than us. It was the fans who had shares - like me - who lost money - and Lowe and his fellow directors who also had shares. Well I'd gladly have given my shares away to see us where we are now - and Lowe and co more than took their fare share out if the club in the 10 years they were in control.
-
Well I hope we would extend Hoovied's loan to the summer at least - with the option of making it permanent in the summer. We also need to sign another striker to give us a bit more strength in depth up front. One of Juktiewitz, Sam Vokes on loan, Maynard or Jay Rodriguez would do. We could also do with another centreback - either permanently or on loan - as with Seaborne and Jaidi being quite some way of playing we only got 3 in the squad. Kilgallon on loan would do. Maybe another creative player or winger as Guly is now a striker or so or seems. I'd like to see a few players lime Forte moved on as well though.

the city council lack real vision - and the dynamism to make anything happen! firstly they need to deliver the arts quarter in and around the guildhall square - turn the old cinema /square balloon into a discovery centre with the city library, a gallery and performance space like the one in winchester - add a cafe or two as well - they turn the old plummers building into an art gallery to house the city's art collection - and put all of it on show (its a real hidden treasure) - build the two new building and relocate the University and Solent University are galleries there - and refound the Gantry Arts Centre there as well with the library and gallery moved they could turn the whole of the civic centre into a museum - with a Titanic wing and Spifire wing and all that stuff! problem is it all takes cash - and all Labour's went up North and now the Conservatives wont spend any - and SEEDA was a waste of time - Southampton is in South Central England or Wessex - not South East England and is certainly not subsidiary to Guildford which is where SEEDA was based and focused face it Southampton is a working class industrial city in the rural conservative South - part of the working class urban south coast based around the solent -an island of red in a sea of blue politically - no one wants to admit it exists up north they have no idea that there is any industry or working class south of London - the rural conservatives in the south dont care about it - and neither did a northern focused Labour harsh maybe - but there is some truth in it
-
maybe we should look to the German model where clubs are getting crowds of 50-60K on a regular basis - and there not even clubs we would think of as being big - and they are from cities the same size as Southampton. Werder Bremen, Borussia Dortmund etc. but its based on larger capacity stadiums with standing areas/terraces and ticket prices in the £15 bracket if we had the stadium capacity, were playing in the premier league and had lower tickets prices I think we could get much larger crowds - but I don't think thats a model English clubs are bothered about - its all about the SKY money!

You need to add in 50% of Basingstoke and the IOW to that, as well as 40% or more of Bournemouth and Salisbury - and possibly 20% of places like Weymouth and Dorchester. Leeds is a weird one as the surrounding towns like Bradford, York, Halifax and Huddersfield all have their own clubs with fairly loyal support - and a fairly strong anti-Leeds sentiment. But then the smaller towns like Dewsbury, Mirfield and Wakefield are all hotbeds of Leeds support. My distant family based in and around Wakefield are all die-hard Leeds United fans - but when it comes to rugby league they all support Wakefield Trinity and loathe Leeds! My mates at Uni in Hudderfield who were from Mirfield and Dewsbury we Leeds fans, but in Hudderfield itself you were more likely to see a Man Utd shirt than a Leeds or Hudds Town shirt!

Yep Winchester - he's often in Sainsbury's. He was renting an apartment in Winchester last season - but was planning to move into a house over the summer when his family moved down - his kids are still at school and I think his son was on S****horpe's books
-
Yes - Nicky Maynard or Jay Rodriguez
