It's funny how other fans don't seem to get it that when we went into administration every debt was paid in full - other than to the bank which held the mortgage on the stadium who accepted lower figure for an early settlement as they needed the money more than us. It was the fans who had shares - like me - who lost money - and Lowe and his fellow directors who also had shares. Well I'd gladly have given my shares away to see us where we are now - and Lowe and co more than took their fare share out if the club in the 10 years they were in control.

Well I hope we would extend Hoovied's loan to the summer at least - with the option of making it permanent in the summer. We also need to sign another striker to give us a bit more strength in depth up front. One of Juktiewitz, Sam Vokes on loan, Maynard or Jay Rodriguez would do. We could also do with another centreback - either permanently or on loan - as with Seaborne and Jaidi being quite some way of playing we only got 3 in the squad. Kilgallon on loan would do. Maybe another creative player or winger as Guly is now a striker or so or seems. I'd like to see a few players lime Forte moved on as well though.

the city council lack real vision - and the dynamism to make anything happen! firstly they need to deliver the arts quarter in and around the guildhall square - turn the old cinema /square balloon into a discovery centre with the city library, a gallery and performance space like the one in winchester - add a cafe or two as well - they turn the old plummers building into an art gallery to house the city's art collection - and put all of it on show (its a real hidden treasure) - build the two new building and relocate the University and Solent University are galleries there - and refound the Gantry Arts Centre there as well with the library and gallery moved they could turn the whole of the civic centre into a museum - with a Titanic wing and Spifire wing and all that stuff! problem is it all takes cash - and all Labour's went up North and now the Conservatives wont spend any - and SEEDA was a waste of time - Southampton is in South Central England or Wessex - not South East England and is certainly not subsidiary to Guildford which is where SEEDA was based and focused face it Southampton is a working class industrial city in the rural conservative South - part of the working class urban south coast based around the solent -an island of red in a sea of blue politically - no one wants to admit it exists up north they have no idea that there is any industry or working class south of London - the rural conservatives in the south dont care about it - and neither did a northern focused Labour harsh maybe - but there is some truth in it

maybe we should look to the German model where clubs are getting crowds of 50-60K on a regular basis - and there not even clubs we would think of as being big - and they are from cities the same size as Southampton. Werder Bremen, Borussia Dortmund etc. but its based on larger capacity stadiums with standing areas/terraces and ticket prices in the £15 bracket if we had the stadium capacity, were playing in the premier league and had lower tickets prices I think we could get much larger crowds - but I don't think thats a model English clubs are bothered about - its all about the SKY money!

You need to add in 50% of Basingstoke and the IOW to that, as well as 40% or more of Bournemouth and Salisbury - and possibly 20% of places like Weymouth and Dorchester. Leeds is a weird one as the surrounding towns like Bradford, York, Halifax and Huddersfield all have their own clubs with fairly loyal support - and a fairly strong anti-Leeds sentiment. But then the smaller towns like Dewsbury, Mirfield and Wakefield are all hotbeds of Leeds support. My distant family based in and around Wakefield are all die-hard Leeds United fans - but when it comes to rugby league they all support Wakefield Trinity and loathe Leeds! My mates at Uni in Hudderfield who were from Mirfield and Dewsbury we Leeds fans, but in Hudderfield itself you were more likely to see a Man Utd shirt than a Leeds or Hudds Town shirt!

Yep Winchester - he's often in Sainsbury's. He was renting an apartment in Winchester last season - but was planning to move into a house over the summer when his family moved down - his kids are still at school and I think his son was on S****horpe's books
-
Yes - Nicky Maynard or Jay Rodriguez
-
they've tried that move a number of times in recent games - it was the third time on Saturday that it resulted in the goal - a great move straight from the training ground
-
a return to the Premiership - with an FA Cup or League Cup Win! keeping hold of players like Lallana so we can see them play for Saints in the Premier League spending the money in January to make us odds on favourites for automatic promotion doing the doube over Portsmouth - with Cortese putting Cotterill and Pompey in their place in the press!
-
never quite got that far - but it probably would have been the elected chairman of the Saints Trust. At one point that was Um Pahars but its true he didn't want the job

Cork is a lot better in the middle than at right back. Abd We still need a young pacey striker with power to lead the line. The whole team switched before half time but the substitions in the second half allowed us to play out the game for a win. We were great going forward at times but not great defensively - particularly down the flanks. Boobies looked good - but didn't look like he was used to dealing with so many high balls - his distribution was great though.
-
He was terrible against Millwall - Bouazza did him for pace, strength and power repeatedly - he nutmegged him a couple of times as well - and was given 3 clear shots on goal. Frasers positioning was terrible throughout the game. Sounds like he had a similarly bad game at Leicester as Cork was moved to right back to plug the gap. Saying that he was brilliant against Leeds and marked Gradel out of the game.
-
Yes we do - and one in their early 20s with potential
-
Surely The Only Way Is Essex for him isn't it - he's the younger brother of Mark and Jessica Wright of the TV isn't he?
-
It will be interesting to see how they police the Notts Forest game as the last few times we've played them there has been trouble somewhere in town - although it has been while. Didn't they smash up the Lizard Lounge's windows many years ago?
-
Sanchez Watt? Jonjo Shelvey?
-
They can only be 3 month loans can't they?
-
Richardson and Guly are a real weakness defensively on our right flank. Fraser was shocking against Millwall. Bouazza could easily have had a hatrick. And it sounds like we were just as bad there against Leicester. I'm not sure how we solve this problem apart from playing Cork at right back - but we need him and Morgan in the middle to keep the ball.
-
I hope it's not Andy Johnson - he's injury prone, passed his best and a right old diver!
-
Richardson had a nightmare against Milwall - and we were lucky to get away with it.
-
Is that apart from Forte?
-
Maynard has a better record at this level than Long - Rodriguez I'll give you his record was pretty much the same as Long. Reality is Long was very overpriced. He didn't look that special until he hit a purple patch in the second half of last season
-
have you got the blinkers on or what!?!?!?!?!? Forte was not a great signing - yes his two goals were probably invaluable - but the reality is we are stuck with a player for the next 2 or 3 years that we don't really want and who is probably past his best and not really going to improve. I hope I'm proved wrong - but I dont think I will be and that is part of the reason we are supposedly looking for another striker. At the time it looked like a panic buy as we couldn't get anyone else. As a 6 month loan it would have been a great deal! the Elliott Ward deal was done and dusted by all accounts - but then we dropped it and went for Seabourne. For me Ward would have been a first choice partner for Fonte and would have made the difference between finishing where we did and getting us in the play-offs. It also made the club look a bit stupid and a bit unprofessional - which will come back to bite us and maybe already has done so Seabourne was the cheap option - and he's been OK - but that's it The Fontaine and the Billy Sharpe situations haven't done us any favours either with agents or other clubs Jaidi was great last season - but at 37 he probably should have retired - as it is he's carrying an injury so it will be some while before we see him play again - and a long time before he hits the levels he did at the end of last season. It's also why we're supposedly looking for another left sided centreback. I expect Adkins and Cortese probably think it was the wrong decision to give him another year now - unless he's on a pay as you play deal. Must admit I was 50/50 on whether to give him another year at the end of last season by the way we don't need to worry about Plymouths third keeper - we've got Forecast! the Do Prado, Jack Cork and Steve De Ridder signings and renewing of Schneiderlin's and Lallana's contract's were all brilliant bits of business! Particularly the signing of De Ridder before selling Oxlade-Chamberlain (which in itself was a masterstroke of business)
-
Jonathan Forte? Failure to sign Elliot Ward? Renewing Jaidi's contract? Just thinking. Not saying it's all bad but it's not all good either. More good than bad to be honest but like most things in life it's not black or White.

At 36/37 he was probably too old to play on. Problem is players lose match fitness over the summer and at that age it takes them a lot longer to regain it. And they get injured more easily. It took him two years to get fully match fit - and we saw the best if him at the end of last season. However I don't think we will see it again. I think we should have let him retire on a high at the end of last season.
