  1. The transfer window ends 31st August I would venture to suggest that of all Clubs in Div 1 should have had the resources to get the players they want well before the start of the season The closer it gets to the deadline, the more a Club has to pay generally speaking, that's assuming that SFC are in the market I don't think we are in the market, and, judging from Pardews "amended" comments, ie "2more signings", then "it will be tight", then sillence, I'm sure he knows that as well
  2. No, everyone on this board needs to look at things realistically, and not through rose coloured glasses
  3. Oh, sorry ..... have I missed the new CM, striker, etc etc ????? I expect they will be slotted in tonight without me realising
  4. With the exception of future ones, yes of course One match does not make a season I agree But you can see the way things are heading Pardew cannot/does not know how to change tactics during a match, to turn things around And, it is now painfully obvious that he is NOT going to get funds to add to the squad I wonder why ???
  5. Get a grip ??? As you said, one mustake by us cost a goal ... which was enough to win the Match We "dominated and dominated" Yes, but we did not capitalise on it did we ?? We did not know how to break them down Players out injured etc etc .... All you are doing is using excuses to cover up the fact that the Team, Pardew's Team reverted to aimless hoofing the ball up in the air THAT is not good enough, though you are apparently satisfied with everything
  6. I am genuinely pleased that you are obviously happy with how things are panning out There is a big difference between being "depressed" and being Realistic. Try being Realistic for a minute
  7. What is even more worrying is the fact that YOU slept on it, woke up, and decided that it was not a good idea to comment on our second half performance I suggest you go back to bed
  8. I apologise if this should have gone on another thread However, no comment re my post ?? You are happy with the way we played against Plymouth in the second half ?? You like aimless kicking the ball up in the air against loads of defenders ?? Some people are easily pleased
  9. "There is something rotten in the State of Denmark ...." And I think that rings true for what is going on at St Mary's, behind the scenes OK Leibherr/Cortese do not communicate with us FANS like most Football Clubs do, but, from the outside, they do appear to be alienating the very people that bring in the money that enables them to run "The Business" The withdrawel of staggered payments for season tickets at virtually a minutes notice, a Press ban, an obvious cut back on purchase of new players, the withdrawel of the Supporters Charter, are just but a few measures that have not gone down with us SUPPORTERSp Even an Amoeba could work out that things are NOT right behind the scenes. IMHO, Cortese does NOT get on well with Pardew, who, in my estimation, has proved that he is tactically not capable of taking Saints to the promised land Cortese wanted promotion last season, and it should have been achieved, Although last Saturday was only the first home match, it showed quite clearly, that once Saints go behind, Pardew's tactics are non existant, and hoofing the ball up in the air against a mass defence over over six footers is NOT going to get us anywhere, yet that is how HIS players play Crying wolf about injury's does not work in my book. It is how he instructs the Team how to play that is the telling factor. It is much easier if Saints score first, of course it is, but it is when we don't that the test of a Manager's real calibre comes to the fore, and in that, IMHO, Pardew is sadly lacking I honestly do not think Pardew will be around for much longer. Cortese is an impatient man, who only has time for success. If he waits too long, the season will be lost
  10. I expect so, and Leibherr sell up and they will both leave
  11. Great reasoning So, three more First Teamers get crocked, and are out for the MK Dons game Brilliant !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stuff the Cup(s), we made that mistake last season That's why we are still a Division One Team
  12. Agreed, Forget the Cups, the League should be the ONLY aim Field the "Reserves" We have too many injury's as it is
  13. Sorry, I forgot, he's only the Manager. His Team does not play to his Instructions do they ?? Silly me
  14. After you have gone to Specsavers, and can see things for what they ARE, and not what you THINK they are, then perhaps you too will rtealise that we are nowhere near as good as people like you think we are
  15. ....... who have Managers that can adapt tactics, and do not lose to defence minded Teams "Spineless" ?? NO Realistic ?? Yes We were Poor, for the SAME reasons as last year... Pardew does NOT know what tactics to adopt against Teams that pack their defence Cortese should do a Bryan Gunn on him It did not do Norwich any harm did it ???
  16. Too True Terry Paine was the master at that Took the ball to the Goal line , then crossed it BACk acroos goal, still the hardest thing for a defender to defend against And Paine "floated" it over, not bl;asted it across at the speed of light It makes you wonder what Coaches do these days
  17. An excellent point , they did They sacked Gunn, and went on to get promotion So, all we need do is sack Pardew, and we will do the same
  18. We have such a good Manager, that he STILL cannot adapt tactics to suit the occasion Pardew does not know how to play against an eight(or more) man defence minded team There are Twenty Two more home matches where the opposition will play more or less like Plymouth Pardew's so called tactics are virtually non existant We do NOT have the best Squad within the division Negative comments ?? Yes when they are warrented. Get behind the Team ?? Yes of course, but not Blind Faith. I honestly do not think Leibherr/Cortese will put up with many more defeats, especially at home
  19. Isn't it funny that two people can look at the same match and come away with a different view point I had a completely different take on it Plymouth were not great, but they were worth their win They came for a point, then got a goal, and ended up with all three Saints Team was Pardew's Team, playing to HIs "system" or "tactics", and they did not have a clue as to how to break down a packed defence minde opponent Don't think Plymouth will be the last, because EVERY visiting Team will be playing the same way, all 22 of them Pardew once again showed himself to be tactically inept. He does not know how to CHANGE things if things are going against OK, people will say I should not criticise after just one match, and we were up against a Team rated to be a Top Six contender, but I say Eyewash. This is the sort of Team that HAS to be beaten. What we saw on Saturday was just a continuation from last season when things were against us. Pardew doesn't know what to do, and he didn't try to change anything Far too many people on here were of the opinion that we would "walk" the League, well, we arn't. Time for a reality check, and the reality is we are just an ordinary Division One Team, who cannot change tactics mid match to turn things around Ricky Lambert missing ?? well, if people are just relying on a free kick specialist to get us out of the mire, then that just about sums it up "A good workout" ??? It was a LEAGUE MATCH , or do you mean it was "A good workout" for Plymouth as well ??? As I said, Two people, Two views Funny old game innit ??
  20. It will most likely take five "Home" matches to realise Cortese has changed our colors 125th Anniversary or not, I still think changing from stripes is a Crazy move For those that disagree, Time will tell as they say
  21. Cortese DID know, but for some strange reason, did not act THAT is why Coppel got tired of waiting And Cortese missed getting a BETTER Manager than Pardew IMHO
  22. As it is not "secret", then it will not happen. It is not the way Cortese does things
  23. He should be in now IMHO Davis looks past his sell by date, if people are realistically honest
  24. I think we should get Pulis (Senior) to negotiate ALL of Saints deals Because he certainly stitched us up when he got his son one
