  1. Good post. In addition to the reasons you state why we supported him through his recovery, there's the small reason of preserving our asset. I'm not sure the bench at Newcastle is the best place for the lad, but good luck to him.

Ha!! His post about that CoT nonsense was ridiculous, then he's had a pop at someone else. There's no mob, just a bloke firing off left/right/centre and getting fired at from left/right/centre.

He's responded to when he hurls labels at people calling them racist, narcissistic, etc, etc. That doesn't make him a victim of mocking. Seems to me that he reaps what he sows.
  5. It does, and it'll be telling which players we do and don't cup tie. I'm expecting to see KWP play, I I don't think he'll go.
  6. Not in tonight's squad. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/66435099?ns_mchannel=social&ns_source=twitter&ns_campaign=bbc_live&ns_linkname=64d21a2bb569ec25b6b94628%26Lavia not in Southampton squad%262023-08-08T10%3A35%3A17.576Z&ns_fee=0&pinned_post_locator=urn:asset:cf99d434-cba7-474d-b855-6d2bf0c91275&pinned_post_asset_id=64d21a2bb569ec25b6b94628&pinned_post_type=share
  7. It's a similar message Del... accept shit you can't control and focus on your life, your day and being happy. The vitriol and SoG's post up there are a wee bit tragic.

  9. There's a Marx quote for all seasons. This one feels apt: "I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it".

  13. And from the deftest header you'll ever see.
  14. That makes sense. Personally, I'd agree to to let him go next summer if we don't go up. Although I'd hope that that may make the difference, my instinct is that he'll go.
  15. Hitting the channels is something you'd hope most of our players could do. The issue for me will be whether AA could make the right runs, and whether Martin wants to play that way anyway. It seems that we'll need a forward better suited to getting the ball to feet and doing something with it and/or getting on the end of cute passes between the defence and being ruthless. Che would be perfect if he could actually finish!
  16. You could take that 2 ways mate...not sure why anyone would jump on the bandwagon, or why anyone would dive in with abusive/personal responses as per the above. Pretty daft all round imo, but each to their own.

  18. It has all got a tad silly that's for sure.

  20. Spot on mate 👍👏
  21. You're not wrong, although I think Russell has more class than to sport a Daytona. Strikes me as an IWC Portugieser kind of guy, with aspirations for a Patek Philipe Nautilus as a reward to himself after promotion.

Looking up, seeing play and making decisions is something that good players develop early. The kid hasn't developed those basics yet, so you've got to wander if he can. There's the makings of a bloody brilliant player, but a winger who doesn't score or create isn't an effective winger regardless of how exciting they look with the ball at their feet. For me he flatters to deceive.

He's in the above average category for me, and definitely someone we can improve upon. He just doesn't get his head up enough, and when he does, he seems unable to see what's going on and makes poor decisions on terms of using the ball. It's easy to see why City let him go. Squad player at best for me.

    Gavin Bazunu

Yep. And with Baz the big issue is positioning...a keeper will concede more goals on any league if he starts in the wrong place.

Yep. Very odd bit of business.
