The subs all made sense to me, and just no place for him today. Armstrong's pace stretched play on the left, Alcaraz pushed up from midfield, AMN beefed up the middle of the park, Mara ran around up top, Perraud did the job that Salisu was struggling to do. All good subs at the right time imo.

As I said above, I'd replace him with Djenepo to push their LB back and give a bit more going forward. It's a tactical change with a player coming on better suited to that role. I'd bring the Croatian fella on down the left. I'd also like to see Alcaraz for Diallo at some point. There's options if Jones is willing to be braver.

Then explain what Ely hasn't done that you expect someone playing his role to do, and what he's done wrong. KWP, Adams, Edozie have all been worse.

Indeed. If people are watching it beggars belief that they think he's playing on the wing. It's an in/out role deepish on the right. That said, I'd stretch the play with Djenepo on that side playing higher up the pitch.
