The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.
egg replied to CB Fry's topic in The Lounge
Sure will, hopefully it'll be all or most of the 1922 committee. -
Yep. The youngsters at work are shitting themselves. Sad.
-
Yep, sure is. The panic in people since Boris's announcement is unbelievable. Christmas events being cancelled all over the place, and people looking like the world is ending. Gotta live with this and crack on with life.
-
I think it's inevitable that 3 jabs for a pass, and a pass to do most things, is coming.
-
So will you be declining your booster Del?
-
This keeps getting said. The vaccinated can also pass the virus on. The unvaccinated are putting themselves at risk, ditto the NHS, but aren't a greater risk to the vaccinated than the vaccinated are.
-
They'll have one on the team. I knew a lad who was in house counsel for a now disbanded team, he followed them everywhere.
-
Couldn't agree more. Max put himself behind several cars when putting and to have them cleared, and the gap eliminated is a disgrace.
-
Are the restrictions actually restrictive though? Ours aren't in reality, pop a mask on inside, but otherwise go where you want and do what you want. For now anyway.

Good post and agree with you. The zonal marking is appalling. Arsenal aren't so fluid that our players can't mark a man. The tactic is so easy to exploit its embarrassing, and as you say, the players haven't got a clue. The worst thing I hear from fans is that we can't get anyone better, so let's stick with what we have. What a load of bollocks - if I was in a shit relationship I'd get the hell out there regardless of whether I've got someone else lined. Sticking with it would be mental, just like sticking with Ralph is. He has to go.
-
You're not wrong. We're done. Ralph was done last season but stayed and look at us now. Sure, we've got injuries everywhere, but those that we have look like they have no idea what's going on at the moment, and after 20 mins or so yesterday, looked like they didn't want to be out there. Staying up looks to be a challenge. I'm guessing it'll be Redmond up top with one of Tella, Long or Walcott over the next few games. Fuck. I'd like to see the lad Olaigbe given a go personally but can't see it happening.

Some people here are lined up for jab 4. My mum is. She has an underlying health issue so apparently needs it. Here's the thing though, there's no "ffs" about it. She's told that she needs it for the good of her health so she'll roll up her sleeve, take 10 mins out of her life, and give herself a better chance of fending off covid if/when she gets it. I'm accepting that covid is here to stay and I'll need boosters regularly. Not sure what the issue is.
-
That was dire. We're fucked.
-
Where's this herd immunity that you said we reached months ago?
-
We haven't got herd immunity...we're getting nearly 60k cases a day. Not your best post.
-
I'm so sorry for your loss winner. My thoughts are with you.

I'm not disagreeing that unvaccinated people will inevitably be more likely to need hospital treatment. There's a selfishness in that respect by not being vaccinated, but the thrust of this thread is covid passports at football and that's a point that relates primarily to transmission at football. Its wrong to highlight vaccines as being relevant to that issue.
-
Of course, but it doesn't help sensible discussion if people conflate issues and assume that anti vaxxers dispute the existence of Covid. I know anto vaxxers who believe in covid, have had, test, and mask. Your refusal to answer my question tells me that you agree that mask wearing / tested non vaxed people are less of a risk than vaxed people who don't test or wear masks. The vax has become the focus whereas it should be people's behaviour.

Have you read anything else? There's article upon article (Google is your friend) telling us that viral load transmission is equal or broadly equal between vaccinated and unvaccinated people. Sure, there's articles out there to support your argument, but taking a balanced view, it seems that the unvaccinated aren't the danger some would suggest. Who's the biggest danger to us, the unvaccinated who regularly tests and masks up, or the vaccinated who doesn't?
