Cheers mate, seen that. Thank you 👍

In this case Doherty was clearly going for the ball. Forster then moves towards him. Are you saying its a foul when a keepers own movement, combined with the momentum of both players, causes them to come into contact?
-
@Lighthouse culling some of the crap on here is no bad thing, but the link to the clip where there was a decent discussion re the drop/foul was deleted. Any chance of having that back please?
-
Cheers, interesting discussion on there and it shows differences of opinion on it. Some call foul, others weak goal keeping. Either way, we got the call, so all good.
-
The ball was in the air and the keeper and player were both going towards the ball. The keeper dropped it and the players touched. The player had his back to play to avoid a smack in the face. People see it differently, but no need to be a cock about it.

Can I join in after my new years day rib if beef, and have a cheat day each day?

Yep, some daft comments in that. I have a lot of time for Wright, but his comparison to the Euros was plain silly. The euros happen in the off season, or to put it another way, the tournament respects the existing football calendar and works around it. The ACON doesn't respect that calendar, nor the players commitments to their clubs. I appreciate that heat and weather is an issue, but if it was played in the off season, there'd be no fuss.

Once for me as well. Horrendous. I was young and super fit and have never been so ill. Hospital several times inc coronary care unit, and a throat so inflamed it warranted a biopsy. Hideous stuff and I've made sure I have the vaccine every year as a result. Your timing was better than mine, every cloud etc.

Ha!! True story Whitey 🤣

I doubt many on here have ever had actual flu or know people that have. What people call flu isn't. When you've had actual flu, you know about it, and cab understand how it can kill and why it needs an annual vaccine.

It may have been me. His asset is running from deep and dragging us up the field. For me, that gets nullified by him starting 30 yards up field, and in a position that's alien to him. That said, I reckon he could do a job up and I wouldn't mind seeing it, especially in a 4141 where the wide men have a different role.

Sure covid will be grim for some, but I'm not sure what you're advocating should be done. We can't lock away the majority to protect the minority. Life is going on for the masses, and quite rightly too. That should apply to sport too. Sure, businesses, services, infrastructure, etc are creaking because of Covid but they're getting on with it. Football clubs, managers and players should look at that, stop moaning, and follow suit. With that all said, I hope that you and your wife will be OK.

Self isolation is one part of it. It's very easy to say that players are too unwell to play. Newcastle may be playing with a straight bat, but I suspect they're milking the system.
-
I saw that 7 out with covid comment, then saw that squad, and couldn't join the dots. It's bollox to suggest that they have 7 first team players unavailable with covid. He's someone who likes a moan, worst in the league by a mile.

You boys seem to struggle with the concept of a forum.

If course, but if a man likes a challenge and has money to burn...personally, I see more appeal in pushing for top places here than fighting PSG for top dog status in Ligue 1. It'd arguably cost more to do that than fund a top 6 push here.
-
For me it's whether he sees value /any point in trying to take Nice from 2nd to competing with PSG. It'd cost a fortune and he may see acquiring us as a better use of his cash.
-
Well that ties him more to the area, and yes, he's moved out of the shadows for sure. I won't count my chickens, but stranger things than this have happened.
-
Indeed. He also had a look at Newcastle and ruled out a premier league club for the "foreseeable future" as he wanted to build up Nice. I'd hazard a guess that he's taken them as far as he can without chucking daft cash at them to compete with PSG, but where's the global attraction of being France best team? The Prem has more appeal for sure. He's been trying to get planning on that house for ages and I'm not sure where he's at with that, but he certainly has an affinity with with area and has called his yachts Hampshire 1 and 2. Ineos/Ratcliffe would be very good news.

Due diligence and prep for a deal like this would have been done well in advance. The actual process of transferring shares/creating new holding companies/moving money around isn' a complex one. If it's happening now, the lawyers and accountants will have been on standby and draft docs will have been circulated ready to go. The timing ain't an issue.

Can't see it. They're a huge brand worldwide already, and I can't see what's in it for them commercially by paying £125m+ to buy us and tens of millions a year to improve us.
-
I agree entirely - saying that someone is playing the keeper not the ball because he has his back to him is very dumb. That was my point.
