There's part of your answer. Tank systems are horribly expensive. We run an efficient combi. Two showers are electric, the other is fed by the combi. We mostly shower and the bath gets light use. We use the George Foreman as much as poss, rather than the oven. We steam veg over pasta or rice etc to use one ring rather than 3 or 4. Our tumble dryer hardly gets used. The house is really well insulated, walls and lift plus really good double glazing. We're about as energy efficient as we can be but as prices continue to rise I'll look to make savings where poss.
-
You running tank system rather than combi? Baths rather than showers? Oven on lots? Tumble dryer? Non energy saving bulbs? Not using energy saving in your telly? Ours would be much less if it wasn't for the layabout and running a dehumidifier 24/7. Something's amiss in your place.
-
Our water bill dropped from £80 PCM to £30 when we went to a meter. That's with 3 girls always in one of 3 bathrooms, washing machine on, washing cars etc. Gas and electric is another matter. Think we pay £120 PCM, poss a bit more for a 4 bed semi. That's largely down to a layabout teenager sitting in front of TV all day, lights on, etc etc. 10% annual increase is outrageous and fuel bills will be unaffordable to many.

How does a club persuade an international keeper to come and sit on the bench and risk losing their international place by not playing?
-
Whichever way you argue this case, there are conclusions and actions that that aren't rational. Why refuse to answer plods questions? The DNA? The blood? Why wash your missing child's scent off her teddy? I defy any parent to say that they wouldn't treasure that scent.
-
Indeed. Having stayed at these type of family friendly complexes many times, I'd be surprised if someone could roam around said family friendly complex and happen to stumble across a couple who leave their kids home alone. That, the 48 unanswered questions, and the washed teddy are unusual features.
-
More fanciful than the idea of random blokes roaming around a holiday complex hoping to find kids left home alone while their parents go out for tapas?

He cost us 12m plus wages and isn't contributing. Sell, recoup, and reinvest.
-
Agreed. Whether his heart's not in it and/or he just doesn't suit our style I'm not sure. Either way, he's had a season to step up to the plate and enough is enough.

This. Fox is clearly out of his depth but I think Guly can do a job at this level, albeit further up the pitch. Hated by the fans who loved Chaplow. We'll finish 7th btw.
-
Just to clarify. You say "not guilty" -does that mean that the club agreed that you were not drinking alcohol? Or, was this a case of you admitting a fair cop and pleading for leniency?

This. I did ankle ligaments 2 years ago and kept getting odd pulls and strains that come and go. Physio tells me I'm compensating without realising it. I'm managing it with good sports injury massages, kinesiology tape and properly fitted running shoes which suit my gait.

A mate of mine got caught drinking from his own hip flask during the west game and had the same treatment. He phoned the head of security on the Monday after, explained that he didn't realise that he'd done wrong but acknowledged that he had, apologised for being a bell end, promised to be a good boy and got off with a warning. Personally I'd do exactly the same in your position.
-
I'd agree with that but swap JR for Gaston, play him In the hole and Guly up top.
-
Pretty much as above. Not much in Southampton at all. Anything good is in the surrounding areas. The pig is great but I'd go to winchester instead and try The Black Rat or the chesil rectory. Both are excellent but the black rat the better. Chanteclerc at cadnam is decent. Restaurant on one side and bistro on the other, but same food from the same kitchen. The bistro is much more relaxed and better value.

Easy choices: 1. Go and reapect their (outdated) law; or 2. Go and don't respect their law; or 3. Stay at home. The choices apply to fans and the scores of openly gay players.
-
I hadn't realised they're so bad. They could do a South Korea, 9 years is a long time.
-
You're right there is no choice, but you miss the point about advertising the fact. If a gay fella knows he'll be knicked for kissing his fella in the street he'd be pretty stupid to do that. Agree? The bottom line is that if any visitor feels unable to comply with the law of the land then they don't visit.
-
It's not a matter of hiding something but more about not advertising it, applying common sense and respecting the laws of the country being visited. The laws may be wrong but they are theirs laws and compliance shouldn't be an issue.
-
I doubt the police will go round asking blokes if they like a bit of cock or only eat kosher meat. Unless a fan advertises something that could lead to arrest he won't have an issue.
-
I agree.

So would a 4-3 defeat be better than 0-0? Personally I'd take a 0-0
-
That's actually a very good point. Playing devils advocate, we appear to all be up in arms because we think that the World Cup should revolve around our league calendar, don't we?
-
All fair points. For me I'm not convinced his positives outweigh the negatives and that over the course of the season that he'll help us improve as a team. I hope I'm wrong and time will tell. The Gaston point is interesting. Sunday was made for him to play in the hole and be the link between big VW and the forwards. The question is whether VW would have been able to supply him the ball. In reality his distribution is such that the manager may have preferred to keep Morgan in there knowing that he's better equipped to breakup play if/when VW gives it away. Maybe I'm being overly harsh but his limitations do affect the way we play and team selection.
-
But Del, Essien and even Mikel are destroyers but on evidence so far (inc his performances last season) VW isn't as good a footballer as those 2. Cork and Morgan are able to break up play but are also great footballers. Time won't give him the ability to pass better, but he may adjust to the pace and release the ball sooner. You're right on the price though. To my money he's never a 12m player, but for that price I think we should be entitled to a better footballer than we bought and I'm staggered that we spent that money on a player who has weakened us a football team.
