Seems he intended to reply to Iansums.

If you weren't implying that by this comment "The fact you don't know the religion of the other group tells it's own story", what was your point? Those idiots had an extreme view to the extent that they wanted to burn brown people to death. People have extreme views, and take extreme steps, whether they be Christian, islamic, atheist, unknown, racist, nationalist, on the streets of the UK, in US schools ,or anywhere. Yes, a tiny minority of Muslims take extremism further than people of other faiths, but you seem fixated on this one particular group.
-
Extremism is not just a religious thing. Beliefs go beyond that. You know that.
-
Thanks. I don't support your views, but do appreciate the honesty. Safe travels.
-
I disagree. Rejection of a belief is support of that rejection. That can be fierce, or extreme if you will. Anti Christian beliefs by people of nil faith, for example, have a can be taken to extremes.
-
Absolutely, and only serving to negatively impact on the mentality of the players, which would have been better before they ever met the bloke. He's more of a scar tissue machine than a manager.
-
There was nothing patronising in his comment. It was an acknowledgement that you can take that stance, which you can. I repeat his question. Why? If someone admitted being racist or anti-Semitic, it would be reasonable to ask why. The same applies here.
-
You won't find me disagreeing with you.
-
If people can take an extreme stance on the name of their god, they can surely take it in the name of no god. Alternatively, the idiots I referred to were behaving in an extreme manner in the name of nationalism. The point is that extremism comes in various forms, and certainly not just in the name of religion. Extreme Zionism is another.

Have you not realised that the lad came here as a kid and is British. That's why he was here. He hadn't crossed the radar of the authorities. Whether he should have will doubtless be looked at.
-
I dunno, there seems to be a lot of likely atheists (or possibly Christians, who knows) out there. I mean, suggesting that people burn down hotels housing brown people feels somewhat extreme.
-
Brilliant! Mate, every word isn't a word until it becomes one. Islamophobia is a thing, as this thread demonstrates.
-
Nonsense. It's a recognised thing (UN, and elsewhere) albeit rarely recognised by some for their own reasons.
-
You still assume that the perpetrator was an immigrant. Sure, he was undoubtedly an Islamist, but that doesn't make him an immigrant. The removal point is an emotional response and not much more than an extension of the send them back mantra re the boat people. Nothing we do, any politician or party, renders it possible to change the law to oblige a 3rd party country to accept someone we don't want. We don't have the clout to force that a la Trump. I appreciate that what's happened is appalling, but, an emotional response and reality don't align here.
-
I get that, but it doesn't address the point you made. You asked why these perpetrators (this one I assume is what you mean) are here. If they were born here, there's your answer. If they weren't, and are here legally, there's your answer. If they're here illegally, your question is valid. Your "get them out" line only makes sense if you've assumed this was an illegal immigrant who could potentially be removed. That's a pretty wild assumption.
-
We don't know whether he was born here or elsewhere. I'm not sure that his origins make any difference, it was an evil act of terrorism regardless of his place if birth.
-
He's been playing as a RWB in a back 3, so not really an advanced role. I've always liked the lad. Solid defensively and pretty decent technically as you say. I'm not sure that the new lads give us much if any more.

Point 19 covers it, but, it's that there 'may' be pathway in the future. Yep, it's a flawed plan, but, this has to end and there's no other way on the table, and Israel won't stop, and nobody is helping the people of Gaza. Sometimes the only deal is a bad one, but the only one, thus the best deal.
-
I don't dispute that, but, I'd hazard a guess that there's leaders in the group. People are just assuming that there's no leaders amongst our squad of players which is a strange assumption.
-
Yep. I don't buy this "we have no leaders nonsense". It's an excuse for management shortcomings. Coaching ain't managing.
-
Stephens, Manning, Downes, McCarthy, Stewart, and others, are all seasoned pros. Leadership and confidence comes from the management, then to the players.
-
They've looked a bag of nerves all season. Pompey was a case in point. The players looked full of fear, couldn't handle the stage or pressure, kept giving the ball away, etc. Last night they looked shot to pieces, when leading. I agree that it shouldn't be a hangover from last season, but the players shouldn't be such a bag of nerves this season. Good management teams instill confidence. Hopefully the win will be a turning point.
-
The detail of the 20 point plan: Lots of sensible stuff in there, but 16 and 19 will be big issues...no Israel occupation, but Israel to stay until it agrees that it's ok for it to move out...and 'may' be a pathway to the statehood that Netanyahu has already dismissed. What's ridiculous is the process to get here. A carve up between Netanyahu and Trump, then presented as a take it or annihilation ultimatum. Hopefully the contentious areas can be ironed out and this situation ends.
-
I get that the confidence was drained from the players who were hear last year, but it's surprising that it's still an issue this long after Still's appointment, and with so many of last years players moved on and the sheer number of new lads. The management team isn't just there to pick the team and coach tactics, it's job is also to manage the players. I'm staggered that these players are such a bag of nerves - they shouldn't be.
