Because I watched them play in the Championship in 21/22. The absolute shitshow that they've become this year is not a full reflection on Cooper, in my opinion. There are little to no positives for the other two, unless Beale is holding Gerrard's hand.

JWP and Lavia are the two that deserve a move. Che/ABK/Salisu/KWP can all play at this level and I think will get one. Then there's a few more who I'm hopeful we can get rid of in the likes of Orsic/Armstrongs/Bednarek/Lyanco/Aribo but you never know with 1. how bad they are and 2. the unjustified wages they're currently on and if anyone is likely to take that up. Onuachu/Mara Sulemana - Alcaraz - Tella/Edozie Smallbone - Diallo Perraud - ? - Stephens - Livramento Bazunu I think one or two players you expect to leave always end up sticking around in the Championship, so that could be a few of the new guys signed in January (unless they had clauses in their contract in the likelihood of this situation), hopefully Alcaraz in particular who I think could be great. Don't particular care if Onuachu does/doesn't, but I'd echo the idea of Gyokeres if we lose both him and Che. It doesn't look like the worst outline of a team which would obviously need a few experienced additions, particularly in the central midfield & centre back departments which look very weak. Maybe we don't manage to get rid of all four of Bednarek, DCC, Salisu and ABK so one of them could slot in. I'd like to see us be pretty firm on cough-up good money or tell Burnley to fuck off with Tella. It'll be an interesting Summer for sure though. Imagine we pull in a pretty large number from outgoings.

Not sure why anybody would be looking at Gerrard or Vieira. Neither deserve the job and their successors have immediately proved that they were both doing a poor job. Vieira perhaps less so, but the Palace fans I spoke to on Saturday were saying how Roy has just changed some "obvious things" Vieira was falling short on and now they're twice the team. I'd be happy with Cooper if they get rid, and I'd also be looking at Carrick if Middlesbrough don't get out the play-offs. Don't trust them to get it right after Jones, so it wouldn't surprise me if we ended up with Wilder.

If we had either of Forest's keepers we wouldn't be in the relegation zone.
-
I can at least see why we signed him. We needed a creative player with a bit of unpredictability in our incredibly dull attack. Hasn't quite worked out yet but I don't think it's all down to him. I hope he sticks around next year and hasn't got some sort of relegation clause.
-
How anyone has ever seen him as anything other than the worst keeper in this leagues history as an absolute mystery. An absolute embarrassment of a signing.
-
Love to see Paul give that a go.

Going from the same cycle every week! Somehow now decided we could beat Palace, Forest, Fulham and Bournemouth after absolutely shitting the bed in every single must-win game we ever have to face. I just do not trust any of these players to step up when it counts, and I also do not trust Selles to put the ones on the pitch who have the best chance to.

Things to look forward to in The Championship?
Saint Matty 76 replied to whelk's topic in The Saints
I don't think many people are saying it's going to be great, this is literally just a thread of a few things to look forward to from a bad situation. Looking forward to having a bit of expectation going to St Mary's again, seeing us score a few goals and hopefully (very optimistically) managing somewhat of a clean-out of a lot of the shite that's caused this in the Summer. Don't expect us to piss it by any means, and the managerial appointment is key (and their history of that is already beyond worrying), but we have a decent amount of players who I think will do a good job next year, on top of what should be a decent budget from outgoings to add to that. I've felt the most detached that I have in the past couple of months, so I think the fans need the reset as well. -
Our players didn’t give them much to get excited about, no issue with some fans clapping a legitimate piece of quality. 1st half wasn’t bad until another lapse in concentration at the back.

One of the few occasions where a loan move has actually been brilliant for us. Either we tell Burnley to cough up in excess of £20m for a player who wasn't good enough for us at the time, or we get a player who's just torn apart the Championship to hopefully do the same here. Smallbone's looks to have gone okay as well. Would imagine he'd have a role here next year with JWP and Lavia being two who are almost certain to depart, interested to see how they've both developed.
-
What kind of nonsense is this? Not a single person should be blamed for not spending upwards of £500 to watch what we have for the past few years.
-
Yeah completely agree. It was never the wrong decision to try to, I meant. Similar with Forster and Bazunu.
-
Actually got a 3rd assist in the end too, 1G 3A. Was never the wrong decision to replace him, but you've got to laugh at the fact that we'd probably have stayed up with him, Romeu and Forster getting minutes over the ones who have.
-
Assisted the first two as well, pretty funny timing.
-
You'd have to be absolutely mental to think there's a single chance of him coming here right now.
-
Going to be difficult to drag myself down to this one. The 5:30 kick-off with plenty of beer time pre-game may help.
-
Put a good ball into the box and our 6’7 striker nearly scores, who’d have thought?
-
So bad. Such a strange 50/50 player.
-
We’ve literally had comfortably more possession than them. We are both terrible. They have not been far better by any means.
-
This isn’t even remotely true though. We haven’t been outclassed, they have not been any better than we have.
-
Get a fucking striker on the pitch maybe??
-
Every fucking week we look better with these players on the pitch and he still fucks up the selections. Can’t be bothered having hope any more when this manager can’t even see the most obvious mistakes he’s making. West Ham cruising to 3 points despite being fucking atrocious. Added to Forest, Wolves x2, Villa and I’m sure a few more.
-
A bit of direct play? Get him gone.
-
1-0 down against 18th in the league and we don’t have a striker on the pitch.
