I'd probably start the same as United but with THB in for Stephens. BBD and Archer incredibly lucky but I'd probably rather go with them than anything else we have at the minute.

ABK is never coming back into the fold then. Also don't agree with Wood being ahead of Edwards in the pecking order as he's looked shite whenever I've seen him. Let's hope Cornet looks a bit more impactful than his sub appearance. I wouldn't be wasting minutes on Fraser instead of Amo-Ameyaw at this point either.

I don't disagree by the way, this was just my prediction. Based on how devastated RM has said he's been to leave these guys out the squad, he's not going to completely give up on them yet. I'd play SAA as well, but I doubt Stewart is ready to start yet.

Can't argue with that really. He's been somebody I find quite easy to support, and I was worried he'd stick with his favourites all year which he hasn't to his credit. Unfortunately, the football which worked last year by tiring out the opposition and eventually breaking them down does not work in this league where you have less of the ball to do it with, and some of the worst players in the league attempting to play it. It just seems like we're going to have a decent spell each game, followed by something stupid at the back which gifts a goal away and completely changes the course of the match. It'll be interesting to see what happens if we actually take the lead in a game during one of these decent spells which we've had against Newcastle/United. Stephens and Bednarek was a horrible partnership years ago, and it's still a horrible partnership now. ABK was a Premier League standard player whilst he was fit a while back, and we should be utilising that if he's still here. I don't think he's been done much favours with the recruitment this Summer, as we seem to have just added potential and Championship-level squad fillers to an already weak Championship side. Think it's going to start getting a bit rough for RM if we don't win one of our next two. The feeling within the ground for him still doesn't seem so bad at the moment.

Would be the time to try pairing Downes/Ugochukwu for me. THB lucky to keep his space but ultimately I do still think he is better than Stephens. BBD a bit fortunate as well, although hopefully he operates a bit better with a striker on the pitch. Wouldn't be opposed to a Lallana start as well. Feel like I can always understand us going for players like Sulemana, because just a little bit of improvement on their end product can see you making huge money. Unfortunately he never really showed any signs of doing that, and a £25m~ player making as little of an impact in the Championship is embarrassing. Hopefully we've loaned him to a good league, he performs well and we end up getting £15m or so back. Whether that's the option Ajax included or from elsewhere.

Sulemana to Ajax, suggested that move at the start of the window as a way to hopefully increase his value like Minteh. Says a buy option is included, no idea what it'd be but hopefully around £20m in case he explodes.

Great summary, and completely agree regarding Fernandes. Made Smallbone look like an amateur once he came on the pitch, and he wasn’t even spectacular.

Rightly or wrongly, it's the hope that THB can be/become a good top flight player. We've seen plenty of cases for the fact that Stephens is not.

Yeah, better than him saying that’s what he wants from us at least! It’s a bit of a sad reality but after last season I don’t fear relegation any more, if we go down so be it. Just want to enjoy the matches a little more than today, and I think I will do so with the likes of Fernandes and Dibling being more involved. (bit of positivity after whining for the last hour)

I was thinking that before the season started, but I'm a bit fed up already. It's just stupidity that's losing us these games, not a gap in quality to the other teams. Pure stupidity. Obviously he gets more time to try and turn it around, but I seriously wouldn't care if we rolled the dice in a couple months if he refuses to change things up.
