  1. It's mental that ex pros can't see the malicious intent - digne saw red and did something nasty - he certainly isn't the first and he won't be the last. Next they'll be saying that Lou's Suarez taking a bite out of an opponent was just a bit of affection
  2. Really good result. Tactics we're spot on - neutralise Everton by forcing them to play through the middle and pressing their midfield. I don't get the Redmond hate. He didnt have his best game on the ball but was good off it both going forwards and back. Ward prowse or romeu motm for me - difficult to pick between them. I'd probably give it to jwp on the basis that he got a very good goal at the perfect time.
  3. I'm not sure that's quite right. I expect Walcott to be the back up for Armstrong and stephens/vestergaard and salisu/bednerek to be the choices at centre back (ball player and ball winner). Long is the back up for Adams IMO. My concern is backup in centre mid. I'm not sure smallbone has developed enough yet and one injury to either jwp, romeu or diallo and we look in trouble.
  4. He's been probably the worst player on the pitch and yet scored the goal. As you say very strange performance!
  5. I'll take credit for that
  6. What is djenepo doing? Constantly out of position - is like watching an u10 player.
  7. Just saw that too. Clearly hasn't seen him play
  8. Tella has a bit of pace (not sure what else he offers), Theo has lost much of his plus I'm pretty sure he will just get injured
  9. I'm not sure Theo would offer us anything. He's not been very good for some time now.
  10. No - really wasn't. I think we're missing Redmond, but not the Redmond who has played the last few weeks.
  11. Djenepo losing the battle with bardsley. Time for a change... Awful game. Burnley relying on head tennis and shithousery... Who would have thought? It's like something from the 80s.
  12. Why should we expect our owner to waste his money on buying players? It's not like he's a life long saints fan. He's clearly bought the club as an investment in the basis that football clubs appreciate in value at a rate that is out of kilter with the real world. He's trying to sell and isn't going to throw any money away at this point and who can blame him? As depressing as it is watching other clubs spend loss more, unfortunately the reality is that we don't generate the same commercial revenues as a lot of other clubs and our owner isn't going to dip into his pockets. What we can do is spend money wisely, but unfortunately we've not done that either and until we deal with the consequences of overpaid bad signings things aren't going to improve unless someone with deep pockets comes along and buys the club.
  13. There has been so many: boufal, carillo, hoedt, vestergaard, Gunn, elyuseless, lemina to name a few. Depressing that those responsible weren't stopped sooner
  14. Perhaps we are still suffering from the sh1te that Hughes bought???? Not many clubs backed so many managers with a load of duff signings over such a short period of time
  15. What is the high line all about?? We have a keeper who is shit with his feet and indecisive so can't play as a sweeper and 2 slow centre backs. Absolutely shocking. Bad tactics has lost this game for us
  16. Shooting on target would be an improvement on Hojbjerg
  17. Being skint doesn't matter to the majority of fans and spurs fans aren't exactly known for being the rational or realistic... I'm just surprised there isn't a major spurs meltdown going on based on a lack of ambition, etc, etc
  18. I just cant really understand why... He's at best a bang average player at a (this season) mid table club and they have ambitions of a top 4 place and winning trophies. Still let them believe they got a good deal and that KWP isnt the better player :)
  19. Unless salisu is expected to take his starting spot and bednarek has asked his agent to find him a move... Or the Austrian chap (or another CB) is joining
  20. I'll give you that he's poor in transition, but I don't think he's positionally poor when we're defending. Just woefully inept in possession which leads to him being out of position as you say when he inevitably loses the ball or turns possession over. It still begs the question what exactly are spurs getting for their money?
  21. Right now hojbjerg is exactly what spurs want, but I can't help feeling that when mourinho is gone he'll be a forgotten man (particularly as levy tends to select the opposite sort of manager to what he's just had). He's great against the ball, he's disciplined, works hard, wins the ball back well, etc. This is what makes him a player that mourinho wants and what made him so effective when we were trying to grind out results last year. However, he's entirely limited on the ball, he's ponderous, his passing forward is bang average at best and his shooting is awful. The next progression in Ralf's master plan is about being effective with the ball - something that hojbjerg just isn't good enough at, which is why he had looked so poor in the latter part of the season. IMO we're well shot of him and the fee feels like we've done very good business.
  22. If I was hojbjerg I would be starting to question whether spurs really wanted me or whether they saw me as a squad filler they can get on the cheap. If they see him as essential to their plans next season the £25m is still a good deal. I wonder if this one is going to go the way of so many other supposed spurs signings and we'll end up keeping hojbjerg next year. I seem to remember a similar amount of fannying about over grealish
  23. Off the ball Hojbjerg is very hard working, disciplined and works well in our system, which is my guess as to why our manager likes him. On the ball it's a completely different thing. He would do very well in a slower league - his brain and his natural instincts just aren't up to the pace of the game in the premier league when he has the ball and as a consequence is ponderous and frequently misplaces passes unless they are in the direction he is facing. His shooting is woeful. Attitude wise he runs around a lot which in the relegation scrap last year was really valuable, but as we've got better and are looking upwards he's looked more and more limited. I'm not sure he's an Idrissa Gueye replacement, more of a poor man's morgan schneiderlin (as mentioned above). I guess he's young and could improve, but I suspect he's more cut out for a different league. IMO if we get £25m plus we've robbed you or Spurs.
  24. Hojberg is such a waste of a space. Thank fuck for Danny ings
