  1. I'll give you that he's poor in transition, but I don't think he's positionally poor when we're defending. Just woefully inept in possession which leads to him being out of position as you say when he inevitably loses the ball or turns possession over. It still begs the question what exactly are spurs getting for their money?
  2. Right now hojbjerg is exactly what spurs want, but I can't help feeling that when mourinho is gone he'll be a forgotten man (particularly as levy tends to select the opposite sort of manager to what he's just had). He's great against the ball, he's disciplined, works hard, wins the ball back well, etc. This is what makes him a player that mourinho wants and what made him so effective when we were trying to grind out results last year. However, he's entirely limited on the ball, he's ponderous, his passing forward is bang average at best and his shooting is awful. The next progression in Ralf's master plan is about being effective with the ball - something that hojbjerg just isn't good enough at, which is why he had looked so poor in the latter part of the season. IMO we're well shot of him and the fee feels like we've done very good business.
  3. If I was hojbjerg I would be starting to question whether spurs really wanted me or whether they saw me as a squad filler they can get on the cheap. If they see him as essential to their plans next season the £25m is still a good deal. I wonder if this one is going to go the way of so many other supposed spurs signings and we'll end up keeping hojbjerg next year. I seem to remember a similar amount of fannying about over grealish
  4. Off the ball Hojbjerg is very hard working, disciplined and works well in our system, which is my guess as to why our manager likes him. On the ball it's a completely different thing. He would do very well in a slower league - his brain and his natural instincts just aren't up to the pace of the game in the premier league when he has the ball and as a consequence is ponderous and frequently misplaces passes unless they are in the direction he is facing. His shooting is woeful. Attitude wise he runs around a lot which in the relegation scrap last year was really valuable, but as we've got better and are looking upwards he's looked more and more limited. I'm not sure he's an Idrissa Gueye replacement, more of a poor man's morgan schneiderlin (as mentioned above). I guess he's young and could improve, but I suspect he's more cut out for a different league. IMO if we get £25m plus we've robbed you or Spurs.
  5. Hojberg is such a waste of a space. Thank fuck for Danny ings
  6. Hojberg and vestergard both showing why we will be best off without both of them. Not exactly putting themselves in the shop window though...
  7. Redmond looks absolutely terrified to lose the ball - shocking performance from him going forward.
  8. KWP now responsible for 2 goals. Too narrow both times.
  9. Won that cleanly. Absolute shambles from the ref and var
  10. Good I hate Everton. Done absolutely nothing and then score playing anti football.
  11. Amazing performance!! Superb goal for che and brilliant defending - especially from Stephens and KWP
  12. Unbelievable. And some people say we don't need a new keeper
  13. The way the majority of premier League footballers have behaved in all this has really turned my stomach and for gary lineker to ask why footballers are being targeted and not CEOs, when CEOs are working harder than anyone to save jobs and their companies beggars belief. What exactly is it that footballers are doing right now to deserve their millions?? **** all is what... I knew football has been rotten for ages, I just hadn't realised how much I despised those involved in the game I love. Sent from my HRY-LX1 using Tapatalk
  14. I'm very suspicious about United despite their global fanbase. They have spunked a lot of money away without any champions League income...a Sent from my HRY-LX1 using Tapatalk
  15. They're not called liVARpool for nothing Sent from my HRY-LX1 using Tapatalk
  16. With Kevin "Liverpool's" friend in charge.... I think you'll be disappointed Sent from my HRY-LX1 using Tapatalk
  17. Blimey there is some mass hysteria on here... We're sensibly letting Yoshida go, we've replaced a bang average Cedric with KWP a player who is no worse, is young and has some potential and we've let some youngsters go on loan. There is no good business to be done in January unless we want to pay through the nose. We've set ourselves up nicely for a decent summer window. Now I'm not saying the summer will be decent, but I don't think the club have got much wrong this window. I've previously been very critical of our transfer business, but credit where it is due Sent from my HRY-LX1 using Tapatalk
  18. Keeping Gunn, Vestergaard and Yoshida out of the side, sticking with a settled 4 at the back, fullbacks playing at fullback and a largely settled team with a consistent approach. Reading between the lines he's worked out who will play his way for him and who won't. Sent from my HRY-LX1 using Tapatalk
  19. Also I think Ralph has finally worked out who his first choice team is (particularly at the back) and the team is massively benefitting from consistency. Sent from my HRY-LX1 using Tapatalk
  20. Keane played for England and he's proper dog**** Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  21. Playing the same back 4 week in week out seems to be starting to pay off... Who would have thought it Great result. Let's hope Ralph can make a couple of decent additions in Jan and we can push on.... (Sorry Im getting carried away now) Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  22. At some point someone at the club needs to realise that new manager bounce can only take us so far.... We need better players and have done for ages. Our academy isn't producing, our find a gem strategy is flawed now that everyone else is doing the same thing, ... Time to ditch the Southampton way and do something else Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  23. Fundamentally Ralph needs to realise that the players at his disposal have not been bought to play his system and never will be up to it. Ditch the 4-2-2-2 and go back to a 4-3-3 with romeu playing as a holding player and shielding the back line. All of our centre backs are woefully inept so the last thing they need is the chuckle brothers playing to-me to-you in front of them. The players are mostly ****, but Ralph needs to wake up to this and do something different (I'm beginning to think he's a one trick pony) - after all the club aren't going to buy him one decent player in January. 24. Given the way West ham fell apart last night I suspect this will be a game where we fight it out for 70 mins and then both teams try their best to lose for the remaining 20. The least fragile team will win and the ref/var will probably have a big part to play in deciding. 3-2 to saints, but it will be a hard watch Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
