  1. Maybe you're right but the last 2 signings in January were Carrillo and Austin neither of which fit our supposed strategy and both felt to me like panic buys. In a Austin's case at least he has done a job when fit... Agree with you on some of the other turkeys. Sent from my Lenovo TB-X304F using Tapatalk
  2. I wasn't suggesting that for a minute - don't be so sensitive. I was disagreeing with your made up fact that we've decided to ignore injuries. Panic buying is what we've been doing for the last couple of years and it hasn't worked well. I'm just glad to see we're been more prudent. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  3. No we haven't we've decided that there is sufficient strength in depth to cover any injuries. That is the decision that should be questioned. I think a strategy where we don't panic buy has to be a better way forward. We're only "short" at right back/right wing back and we've got umpteen players who could do in there. Still we shouldn't let that stop a good old fashioned meltdown. Sent from my Lenovo TB-X304F using Tapatalk
  4. Shane longs you tube clip is called "Shane longs tireless running and goal" Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  5. I'm not sure where the notion of penny pinching comes from? We've spent a small fortune on players who don't get in the side and whose wages we continue to pay. If anything we've been irresponsible with money and have expensive players like Carrillo, Hoedt, boufal, who all appear to be superfluous. If the club is finally trying to be more responsible, then I'm all for it as long as the strategy is to spend money more wisely - and the is no evidence to suggest this isn't the case. 6. Does that mean we're also not allowed to use the word clubbing any more? Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  7. Exactly this. IMO we don't need to sign replacements for players who aren't first choice. And to answer batman. Try reading through this thread and the Cedric one - seems like an awful lot of hysteria to me Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  8. I'm struggling to understand the mass hysteria about players leaving. We have a bloated squad and it strikes me that Ralph and the club are addressing this. We want to create pathways for the youngsters. We can't do this if there is an experienced highly payed player in the way. Yes the youngsters may be raw, but only through experience will they learn. I don't see how we can address these issues without letting players go without replacing them? Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  9. Let's hope Hughes finds himself a new club soon and takes his lovechild with him Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  10. Couldn't agree more. I can't believe that people are so quick to write attacking players off who have played badly under the ultra defensive/clueless managers who've been managing us for the last few seasons. You only have to look at the difference in Redmond... Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  11. Isn't that something that hassenhutl said in a presser? I'm not sure hassenhutl told Blackmore anything directly... It's like me saying "jwp told me there is now a clear game plan". When will Blackmore actually say something true that everyone already doesn't know? Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  12. Do you honestly think that it is simply a case of spending more on better known players? We're not an attractive proposition for really good players (no European football, wage limits) so we'd always be looking at players who wouldn't quite be good enough to play for the big teams - if we want someone who is proven. Looking for undiscovered gems or young players with potential is the right approach in my mind, but imo for every gem we will have to put up with some players who simply aren't good enough. 13. I can't wait. Fingers double crossed now! Sent from my Lenovo TB-X304F using Tapatalk
  14. It's almost like we have a manager who understands players strengths within his system and plays to them. Fancy that... A long departure from Hughes picking his 11 favourite players Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  15. Have you seen Cardiff's squad? Ours might be poor but it is no where near that bad! What I can't believe it's that Cardiff are above us... Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  16. I'm not convinced the problem is a lack of money for buying players. I think we need to move players on to create space and free up wages for new signings. Only an idiot would bloat an already massive squad and wage bill with more players and wages before dealing with the underlying problem. Carrying on is putting us on a fast track to bankruptcy (also known as the Harry redknapp school of management). Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  17. We really do have some utter plebs as fans. I wonder if these are the same fans that l only ove players who run around a lot and kiss the badge Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  18. OUT: Austin, Long, Hoedt, Forster, Gabbi, Davis, Carillo IN: Centre Back, Creative midfield player, Striker BRING BACK (if possible): Boufal, Sims, Reed
  19. Not my point. He wouldn't get near their bench now (nor would anyone at his level) let alone start a match. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  20. I'll try and be objective: Positives: very quick Good at pressing (when he can be bothered) Makes a nuisance of himself particularly against tiring defenders Half decent in the air Negatives: Inability to time his runs meaning he is continually off side (This season) Spends too much of the game jogging about aimlessly getting his breath back from the last sprint Woeful touch Dreadful shooting Poor passer My problem with him is that he seems to lack too many of the basic attributes of a footballer which at premier League level just isn't good enough Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  21. You do realise how much football has moved on in the last 3 years don't you? E.g 3 years ago ihanacho started for city... The gulf between the top 6 and the rest has never been wider. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  22. Or you could argue that wh demonstrated what a good attaching player can when other players run well off the ball and create space for them Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  23. Beaten by a better side and two poor refereeing decisions. Clear pen and once again Carroll gets away with gbh We've got to get better players into the side than targett, long and Austin. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  24. Long is a turd. No excuse for being continually offside Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
  25. Does anyone who isn't a West ham supporter actually like them? They're a thoroughly hateable club run, supported and represented by utter bell ends. Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
