Why ?

The number of jittery posters is increasing by the day and the 'R' word is being used more frequently. The trickle of 'bedwetters' is becoming a torrent. The club need to make a real high quality signing to stop the perception that we are in free fall and encourage other quality players that they will be signing up for a team that will be comfortable in the prem as opposed to fighting relegation.

We always 'dilly dally' when it comes to essential summer signings. Must be a club policy or something, perhaps everyone is on holiday. Whatever, it has cost us in the past and this year it could cost us our premier status.

Agreed, it is sad, looks like we flew to the sun only to have our wings burnt.

That is very generous indeed, would be delighted to be anywhere near the top 10.

Crucial we sign this player imo. One good signing could persuade other good targets that we are a good prospect and neutralise the feeling of uncertainty created by the high profile leavers. If we fail then I am concerned we will go into August weakened and with a bad start to the season find it even harder to attract quality.

Yep. Year before 17th and we finished 14th so not far out. The year we got promoted I was way out, I am not going to deny the facts.

The Hoddle debacle only comes up now and then, I will admit though, I have not been impressed with our summer signing inaction in the past. I stand by that. Did we strengthen key positions like GK last year during the summer ?

Agreed I have underestimated our league position in the last three years, but I did not predict 17th last year, that was the year before.

No. I have predicted 19th but have said more likely 18th. A turn of phrase not a prediction. I stand by my prediction and will change it IF we make some significant signings.

Exactly, which is quite a tall order. So, unless we get a shift on we could well find ourselves in deep trouble. Let us hope the Board are not burying their heads in the sand because if we get this wrong we will be punished hard in the unforgiving world of the Premier League.

It could be and I am serious about this that we have to drop a level to attract players who have a point to prove and who are hungry to journey with us to the top echelons. The sad thing is that they will be off once they get the plaudits and so the cycle begins. I have been villified for saying it before, but we could become a 'yoyo' team, carefully managed financially, building, rising through the leagues, dropping down again and then starting a new cycle.

Surely deserving an infraction. I am more interested to know whether you have an opinion I have already seen that you can be obnoxious at the most base level.
