Hope that the tweets are not a false dawn and will in fact grow from a twitter to a dawn chorus....Koeman !!!!

Interesting if genuine. The manager vacancy has to be the most important issue facing the club right now. Reassuring that KL has interests of club at heart.
-
Up here in Norwich I am fully aware of how the two clubs fortunes have been closely tied. Like you I am convinced that a high quality manager will make all the difference as I reckon the board will take the right actions but are still wet around the ears and it is a cut throat 'dog eat dog' world in the Premier league ! Koeman or Hoddle would do the job well.
-
If we fail to appoint Hoddle this time, I doubt we ever will. Shame really.
-
Well, I do know one thing, it is important to get the right manager in place, sooner rather than later ! Does anyone think this will happen next week ?
-
Hopefully we will get news of a new manager in the next few weeks. Hopefully a really decent manager will steady the ship. Glenn Hoddle would be ideal imo.
-
About right and how I see it. KL and the board being realistic about what we can achieve. Of course, there is the dread of relegation, but if we get back up we should be OK and if we stay down a few seasons we are not in a P****Y situation. Someone mentioned Norwich. Well, they are not in financial straits and they have a sustainable programme. The advantage Saints have is I think KL has a little bit more money to 'pump prime' SFC if needed than Norwich.
-
Maybe SFC want top get in the new manager and see if that will persuade Lallana to stay. IMO if he is hell bent on going then I think we will have to accept that and vargain hard for a top notch deal. At least if it is done early it gives the new manager time to replace Lallana and get the side ready for the new season.

Conspiracy theories abound, but I think it is more straightforward. Faz's post was excellent. KL wants to run the club in a 'sustainable' way. NC wanted to gamble on top 6, but KL and her team can see that this is not possible unless SFC go into heavy debt or KL pumps in 10's of millions of her own money. However, mid-table IS SUSTAINABLE and possible ! NC falls out and MP decides to go to a club aiming for top 6 and European football. Some of our 'star' players realise that this is their chance to move on. After, Saints were one of the great success stories but it migh not always be so, especially if we bobble along mid -table. FUTURE: KL will be looking to get in a good solid manager to create a good solid mid table club with good solid players and also to allow academy players to come through over the years. We have put a lot into the academy and we will continue to define ourselves as a centre of excellence attracting the future Luke Shaws, who also know there is wvery chance of breaking into a good premier team before moving on to the the BIG 6. RISKY ? Yes, and if we do get relegated then of course it is a blow. But, if we have been prudent and sustainable we will not face the QPR or P*****Y situation of implosion and we can 'yoyo' back up. So, be patient and wait and see.

The bedwetters are going to look very foolish if, in the next couple of weeks we appoint a top quality manager. As for the Hoddle detractors, he is the only one talking snese over the England Peru game.
-
Honestly, we are not on the verge of being relegated. One good manager, that is all, one good manager and we shall see the ship steadied. I expect that is the priority of the board now. I am quietly optimistic for that reason.
-
That is the key. So instead of running around like headless chickens, the board need to stay calm and focused and get a strong manager with the type of status and clout that protects the club from the circle of bloody mouthed hyenas and vultures ! Glenn Hoddle would be my choice.
-
Osvaldo could come good and I still have a lot of time for Billy Sharp. we have to hope that Jayrod gets back to his best and we buy in a couple of good strikers. Moyes would be a good manager and a good alternative to Hoddle.
-
How do you know that we have't got a plan in place ? The first thing to do is get a first class manager in place, quick ! If the board make a good choice, are decisive and act promptly then I think we will overcome the challenges that are ahead. However if we 'dilly dally' throughout the summer in our usual manner then I would suggest that my prediction of '17th' may well look ambitious. It is too early to judge yet, but I would expect a manager in place in the next couple of weeks. My choice would be Glenn Hoddle.
-
A laughing stock ? The bedwetters rich new depths of hysteria. We may well end up with a better manager than one we have lost and with first class replacements. IMO we will strike back once our new manager is in place.
-
People are making judgements on an irrational and emotive basis. I will judge on the following: 1. Who is made the new manager. (Hoddle for me) 2. The time scale that above is achieved, ie giving time to steady and raise morale of the squad and create a positive momentum for the new season. 3. Real investment ie good quality replacements for those players we replace. Then of course it will be time for the start of the season and the real acid test. We will only really know by Christmas.
-
That is a very pessemistic scenario. I think we bumble on next season, scrapping int he bottom third like we always have done in the past. We are not about to implode.
-
It is hard at the moment, but I don't think the board can show their true hand until we have a manager in place. Therefore I predict selling some key players before we act strongly to bring in some class players. We will be OK for August and the optimism will be there for the start of the season !
-
It is disappointing at the moment that we are selling. But what are we to do ? We cannot buy until we get in our new manager. Then, we can move strongly to strengthen the squad, maybe picking up some gems from the WC.
-
Well, as Bill Shankly said, you build a great team starting with the GK. That's probably our plan. Hoddle for Manager.
-
Hoddle would be a great manager for Saints, with something to prove.
-
Without a manager, clubs will take the opportunity to try and sign our players. We need to get Hoddle in sooner rather than later.
-
People need to show a bit of nerve. The club is under attack from the press and rumours abound. We will soon have a new excellent manager. We may sell a few of our top players, they want to go and it is almost impossible to stop them. However, I am confident we will buy in some outstanding top quality replacements once we have our new manager in place. Next season will be about consolidating our premier status and keeping clear of the bottom three, then we can begin rebuilding again.
-
Here we go, must be a Moyes - Hoddle team.
