Reading this thread, apart from CBFRY who has a different agenda and whose opinions can be dismissed with a pinch of salt, the consensus is that unless we get some quality signings in soon we are going to struggle. I would add 'struggle' as in a 'relegation fight' from August through to May. So, despite the swipes made against my predictions from the usual suspects, many people agree with my point assertion.

Which proves my point that we sign too late if you look at how some of those late signings have turned out. The thing is, sometimes you have to pay good money for good players and griping about things is a false economy if it disrupts planning and stops playeers having time to 'gel' together pre-season.

Depends on what is 'over the odds' ? Quality players cost good money and you have to look at that compared with the cost of not having quality players for the season and the distinct possibility of relegation. I think your snipe at Alpine is just an ill thought out out comment.

Its prediction time soon and I am happy to make a bold and brave prediction instead of 'hiding behind my mothers apron' or changing my mind according to which way the wind blows. I am telling you now, we need to act fast or we are going to be in big trouble.

In past close seasons we have been very slow to get in new players where needed. We have been lucky that some players have been better than we could have dreamt of. We are losing players at the moment, but lets wait and see what happens in July, hopefully we will see some quality coming into the club. If we do nothing then I reckon we will end up getting relegated.

I've always said that we have one objective; staying in the Premier League. We will probably sign players with a a view of just doing that. If we finish 17th, then job done however ugly we do it is an irrelevance. People who saw us as a regular top half team were always delusional. We are and will be closer to a 'yoyo' team and that's fine.

Look on the bright side, if we go down we might have a lot of money to spend to 'yoyo' back up !
