Good solid supporters, like many clubs in the Burnley ilk. -
I am very cautious and fear for us. We could 'sleepwalk' into a relegation fight. That's all.
-
Every league match is exciting. First the push for 40 points and safety, then the push for mid table, then if lucky a top 10 finish !
-
Doesn't excuse Osvaldo getting involved. We could really do with him right now and his stupid actions might cost the club points. Not bothered about the Cup.

Last game of season - excitement or disappointment?

and how the 'dream season' turned sour on the last day as well lost our Premier status. An outside chance, but possible. Lets concentrate on staying in the league hey. A lot of arrogance is creeping in and we should guard against complaceny. -

I will settle for a nice relaxed end of season game, as long as we are not facing a relegation scenario -
Osvaldo should show more self control. Inexcusable for a player that cost us so much to act in an unprofessional manner.

As I have said before it is all about money. Premier clubs worried about relegation (Wigan excepted), will be keen to sneak out of the Cup. Top Clubs only get interested in the later stages, and give the second team a run out. Middle teams are aware that even two places higher in the league is probably more financially rewarding than a good Cup run. I don't like it, but that is the reality.
-
I disagree. I think Pochettino would be unwise to risk our best players. To me the Premier League matters, the FA CUP is a sideshow. Looks like the fan base is split into two camps on this one.
-
So what is wrong with 14th ? What position did we finish last season ? 14th. In my books that is consolidation and consistency. Nope, I'd be happy with that. I think some people have got unrealistic expectations.
-
Your entitled to your opinion, but I think you accused me of being a troll because it is an easy option instead of engaging in a debate that you were afraid of losing.
-
I agree with your sentiments about the FA Cup. It is the grandest of old competitions. But, we need to be hard nosed about things. At this moment in history the Premier League is what will decide Saints future. Slip out of it at your peril. BTW you can hurl as much abuse at me as you like. My opinion stands regarding league over cup at this point in our history. Can't see that has anything to do with trolling, I am surprised you include such a lazy point in an otherwise very valid opinion, albeit opposite to my own.
-
Will mean the Skates can sneak in
-
Who's the troll ? Sounds like you are defending yourself !
-
Nothing like a bit of complacency is there CBFRY ?
-
Which is why they still need to go down a league or more.
-
I would rather stay in the league than be like them down the road !
-
I could say the same about people who put the Cup before the League, but I believe in free speech and a diversity of opinions.

Come back to this post after the next 8 and we might be able to answer the question.
-
Well, you'd bee better off supporting a 'plastic' club. 9th would be a tremendous achievement for Saints. Rome wasn't built in a day. People need to be patient. For my part I think we will finish around 14th with a brief flirtation with relegation, which is not impossible.
-
Post of the week. I think '74 should be a timely reminder to the complacent clappers. IMO we will finish about 14th with a brief flirtation with relegation, which is not impossible.
-
If you can say this after the next 8 games then I don't think anyone will disagree. Lets see how it pans out. The next 8 will define our season, not the last 8.
