Couldn't agree more. If we set our sites realistically then we can only be overyoyed by anything better.

We are likely to get walloped but I doubt we will sign any players of significance as we are going for the 'yoyo' strategy.

As the start of the season gets closer I look forward to a few games where we can grab points off our fellow strugglers. What worries me are the bed wetters and drama queens that will call for the managers head just because we are firmly anchored in the bottom three. We need to remember, that we are building the club for the future and that the possibility of relegation is part of the 'yoyo' strategy that we are adopting. WBA fans took a very pragmatic view after adopting the same strategy but it did work.

I think much of what we are saying is the same. I to will not be disappointed BASED ON THE LACK OF AMBITION IN THE TRANSFER MARKET. I will not be disappointed because despite all the fine words, the evidence would suggest this club will not spend to keep us in the Premier League, but by good players with potential and at a sensible price. I take my hat off to such a move and if we do go down, with money still in the bank, we can go up again but building in a sustainable way. In this sense, the evidence points to the club adopting the 'yoyo' strategy, but I don't expect them to admit this and more likely it will be dressed and in disguise.

Why worry ? Maybe your expectations are too high. I am going to enjoy this season and if we get relegated then am confident it is part of our yoyo strategy.

I disagree. I believe we are happy to grab the Premier money and accept relegation before building again in the NPC. I have been convinced for a long time that we will employ the yoyo strategy !

I have said it for the last two seasons, we are not decisive enough when it comes to summer transfer activity. This complacency will do for us, I am sure !

As I said 3 or 4 months ago, I will self destruct if we sign Hooper. At the time people got so excited and looked forward to my demise but there was no danger of me having to self destruct then and even less now !

I see Reading lost 2-0 to Sheffield wednesady ! Reading have seriously strengthened their squad and will have to re-double their efforts. Considering our modest outlay we would probably have lost by 4, hope we learn the lesson !!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting that so many people are coming round to my way of thinking. I was the first to say that we lacked ambition and would make just modest signingings. I was derided for saying that we were obviously following the yo yo strategy. But, now people are agreeing although they daren't admit it. My league prediction comes soon, and it aint going to be good !

A very astute post. I will make my official prediction in August based on our signings. Unless we strengthen in key positions, 17th will look like the most we can hope for.

Sacking Adkins would only be justified if NC had supported Adkins by getting in the right people during the tranfer windows. I happen to believe that the season will be one based on getting the premier money and staying up being a bonus.

We will just have to be true to ourselves. If we go down at the end of the season, it is not a disaster. However, the usual wrist slitters will no doubt talk about doom and gloom. IMO, we will be happy to be a 'yo yo' club !

I always follow these golden rules, yet suffer a great amount of prejudice.
