  1. As long as we win our home games and pick up the odd point away from home we should be ok for a lower mid table finish. That would probably fit our target and would be a good return for our modest investment over the summer. I think next year will be the year we really push on.
  2. Well, we are still top of the league and have made a good start. We look like we will consolidate our league status. Still optimistic that we will achieve our ambition of staying in this league !
  3. I did indeed, not only do agree with the prediction of our league position but also your sentiments old chap.
  4. As for ex players and managers, isn't there a saying; 'when the curtain comes down it is best to get off the stage'
  5. We haven't won yet.
  6. Yes, not to bring Hoddle back, but to remind people who and when our near oblivion was brought about.
  7. Some people have a personal agenda and that is more important than anything else. People had a personal agenda in 2004 and it resulted in us failing to appoint Hoddle, who would have probably kept our premiership status. Make no mistake, some people would be happy to lead us into oblivion again just to satisfy their own selfish whim.
  8. One idea was to turn it round ?
  9. We should have got some players in during June and July, still on course to finish about 17th.
  10. What deluded claptrap from the OP, he has obviously escaped from a secure institution with white soft walls !
  11. I bet Docker shouted and screamed at the board in 2004 and was delighted at the decision not to appoint Hoddle. It was his type that brought the club to its knees and his type will do it again whilst refusing to accept any responsibility for the carnage !
  12. It's me, the official voice of SFC !
  13. Claridge is a very good commentator and always gives a fair assessment of Saints. Some people get on their high horse and are totally blinkered. Probably the same ones that made all the noise in 2004 over the appointment of Hoddle, and thus condemning us to relegation.
  14. Not sure we will get anything from this game.
  15. Fair enough, but people shouldn't really be disappointed with a point away from home.
  16. Ooh, difficult one that.
  17. Well, you would be disappointed if the Saints were top in February and Burnley were 17th. However, at this early stage of the season the league position is not such a reliable indicator of a teams ability. This is why I am satisfied with a point away from home. We have had a great start and our home form is good. We are on target for at least consolidation in the league which would be a great achievement and probably was our target for the season. So, yes, very happy with an away point against a good team.
  18. Wise words, I said this morning and have said before people are getting carried away.
  19. All you people saying this was a bad result are mad ! This was a point won away from home ffs ! We have had a brilliant start and provided our home form remains strong we should have more than enough to see us through the season. We are shaping up to be a good solid NPC team capable of holding our own in this league. Some people are never satisfied.
  20. A draw would be fine.
  21. Can we get the winner ? How long to go ?
  22. Well, as long as we win our home games we should be ok.
  23. Aye, kicking us with their clogs, hitting us over the head with their black puddings and throwing their flat caps in the air. Game stopped whippet on the pitch !
  24. Who is in charge of the Nuns ?
