As long as we win our home games and pick up the odd point away from home we should be ok for a lower mid table finish. That would probably fit our target and would be a good return for our modest investment over the summer. I think next year will be the year we really push on.

Claridge is a very good commentator and always gives a fair assessment of Saints. Some people get on their high horse and are totally blinkered. Probably the same ones that made all the noise in 2004 over the appointment of Hoddle, and thus condemning us to relegation.

Well, you would be disappointed if the Saints were top in February and Burnley were 17th. However, at this early stage of the season the league position is not such a reliable indicator of a teams ability. This is why I am satisfied with a point away from home. We have had a great start and our home form is good. We are on target for at least consolidation in the league which would be a great achievement and probably was our target for the season. So, yes, very happy with an away point against a good team.

All you people saying this was a bad result are mad ! This was a point won away from home ffs ! We have had a brilliant start and provided our home form remains strong we should have more than enough to see us through the season.
