Around 40 points as always. Teams below us have strengthened and addressed weaknesses. Looking to be a bun fight.

Excellent post by the OP. However, there has been complacency setting in for about three years now, despite our good form in previous seasons. Koeman could see this and I am sure that is why he left.

Fair enough. But, the Board have been complacent for more than a year now. I suppose, a club like SFC finds success and failure in cycles. Maybe, the Board have always planned for the worst case scenario, by being financially bouyant should we get relegated. Clear the deadwood. Get young fresh players in and rebuild. Get promoted. Sell our best young players. Decline gradually. Get relegated but in good financial shape. Start cycle again. Avoiding QPR and P@@@@@y model

Yes but did Puel have the strength of character to force Reed's arm ? If, as i suspect, he does not then Reed pulls the wool over everyone's eyes and hopes we have enough to stay up with a healthy bank balance.

The trouble for Reed is that Pelligrini would have challenged him over the squad and the need for quality key players. Reed is obviously the darling of the board because until now he has succeeded on gaining success on the cheap.

I am more worried about this season. 17th I would take right now. Over the summer we need to have a clear out and invest in some top class players. Still, I am not convinced there is the will to spend money that we have. I don't know why, but it seems like a lack of commitment which surely means the club is for sale.
