And who are these good players turned average!?
-
Pardew signed Jaidi
-
A first option buy back clause would be good
-
just can't see this happening. we don't have a settled squad at the mo and recent form doesn't sugget that we will only lose twice plus making sure we don't draw too many. hopefully I am proved wrong
-
i think it would be the fastest growing station in the region. what a bench mark for success that would be

Only on a couple of occasions I'll admit. However, the feedback from the Cov fans suggest that the overwhelming majority think he is solid and should start for them. Seaborne on the other hand has recieved mixed reviews and had a shaky game on Sat. Plus I saw him against us in December and he did not stand out Personally, given the choice, I'd prefer Ward but I hope that Seaborne does turn out to be class....just questioning why he was seen as a better option.
-
And then be left with another squad player we don't want and desperatly need to get rid of? I'm not saying that this will be the case but we had an opportunity to get a player who we know will perform well for us now and inthe CC at least....why then gamble on Seaborne?
-
I can't work out why Seaborne was seen as a better option than Ward either. As you say Ward is still approaching his prime and is proven at a higher level and most importantly, he was willing to drop a division to play for us.
-
I agree. You should always see out a game after scoring so late on. The reaction to the performance and result today from some people has been very over the top though
-
I agree. We played away at a very difficult place to get a result. Why do people expect for us to go to these places and play every team off the park? We are by no means that good so I don't understand why the expectations are so high. As long as we can start to dominate at home I will mostly always be happy with a point away from home and would have taken that result before hand. Just because we have chucked some money at the team doesn't mean that it will bring instant success and anyone who is now calling for AP to go now after 6 months, after starting at -10 points and after getting us far in JPT and FA cup need to get a grip on reality
-
Would be amazing!
-
Lots of noise about both Ward and Fonte but who would you prefer? I havn't seen much of either player but the Coventry fans seem to rave about Ward so I'd love to see him sign. I wouldn't be upset by either though!
-
If Bart can't handle it then he shouldn't be our back up keeper....otherwise whats the point? Next run of games could make or break his career here. I hope he does well though as he deserves a chance. I can't remember exactly when Bart first broke into the first team but I'm pretty sure he had a few very eye catching performances in the prem?

.........Saints memorabilia? I basically have an original painting of Eyal Berkovic scoring against Utd in the 6-3 win 1996. It's signed by the entire squad involved that day including such greats as Neil Maddison and Richard Dryden! If anyone has any idea how much it might be worth please let me know Cheers

A lot has been mentioned on this thread about the strengths of a holding midfield player but one of the key attributes needed is the ability to pass the ball to a team mate to allow play to build again.......for me Wottons passing is awful and he has that terrible habit of blind kicking the ball over his shoulder....something I often see at Sunday league football We need a holding midfielder no doubt but it shouldn't be Wotton and many can see that, hence he's the whipping boy!
-
He has been linked to Brum recently, prob go there in Jan. If he doesn't do something soon though it will be back to the championship for him.
-
I think he more than made up for that once he actually banged one in for them. He has had an excellent games to goals ratio for every club since saints (including England). Seeing that he has a real chance of playing in the world cup next year I doubt a day goes by where he regrets leaving us
-
Just about to say the same thing! I would be amazed if the club sanctioned anyone leaving who Pards wants to keep. Its fair to say that everyone has a price but at last we are in a position to dictate the terms of players leaving. I'm sure that everyone of the perm signings which Pards has made are here for the long term, the only player to be tempted away is Lallana as he knows he has the talent but I think he will go next summer not in Jan. As a final note.....pards has said that whoever leaves, we have the ability to bring in players of a similar or better standard, not something we have been used to!
-
I particularly like his tendancy to have a go at the ball boys when he dosent get the ball quick enough, shows his passion and commitment to the game, and if he wants to take a throw quickly and dosen't get another ball fast enough the ball boys get told to give it to him quicker. so you have chosen your favorite player on the basis of how well he shouts at little kids?
-
Lambert! The player we have been missing since Beattie
-
ffs

To all those that want change now, who are you suggesting should come in? And what if whoever came in didn't pick up a win within 6 games say..........would you be calling for their head again!!!??? To change the manager now with only a handful of games with hisplayers would be ridiculous and we would be a laughing stock. What manager would come near us knowing that they have a handful of games to get results?
