  1. Who knows really. If Utd have already made contact, they might have been given an indication that this would be the case. They've sacked the Pedro deal off for a good reason you would presume.
  2. SSN saying that Utd interest is genuine. They feel he would be cheaper than Pedro and offer pace, skill and goals to the side. Offer to follow the interest apparently.
  3. The Muller deal looks almost impossible to do. Utd were clearly in the hunt for Pedro so are looking for forward options. Mane wouldn't be the main striker but would be a flexible option across their forward line. Wouldn't be quick to rule out that they are interested is the main point.
  4. Impossible to answer that when a) it's already been reported that we don't want Austin and we wouldn't have to sell Mane to get him and b) what does £10m AMC actually mean and how could anyone say if that's better without any clue as to who the player could be?
  5. At this point though, I'd just rather we didn't sell him whatever the price.
  6. How are they clearly in the market for an out and out striker? They haven't really been linked with anyone other than Pedro who isn't that. If they have moved on from Pedro, Mane wouldn't be an unrealistic alternative. He's younger and better anyway and has shown that he can cut it in the premier league.
  7. Just posted the link on the summer transfer thread, but probably. Would be terrible if Mane left or got distracted ahead of the upcoming season. Hopefully this is nipped in the bud sharpish.

  9. No we should, and then get someone for about £7M (or even better on loan) who was promising in 2011 and could be an upgrade.
  10. He is as much as anyone else. Indicated to the club that he was happy to stay whilst intending to wait for a better offer.
  11. Or you can understand the strengths the weaknesses of your players in comparison to the opposition and pick and choose a system which supports this, something which collectively we didn't do on Saturday until it was too late.
  12. I think the less we have of your opinions on noises and speculation, the better
  13. Go on Arsenal, sign him
  14. The agent wouldn't be doing stuff to unsettle Fonte independent of him. The fact that he has a new high profile agent says something in itself, he clearly isn't going to just be sitting on his hands doing nothing for his client and would have some kind of plan/strategy with the player.
  15. We should all know to keep an open mind about these reports going by the last couple of summers. For those citing his age and max value as reasons to consider selling him......utter nonsense. He's still at a good age to be with us for 2-3 seasons + and his transfer market value wouldn't be anything in comparison to his real value to us.
  16. Fonte replacement?
  17. Can't wait for him to grow out of this phase tbh.
  18. It's more about how we can continue to play in a successful system with key changes to personnel or whether the changes would lead to a different system all together. A big part of what football forums are for, surely?
  19. I was assuming that we would still have the 2 DM's (Wanyama and Romeu) with Davis/Clasie or JWP being the more advanced CM as part of the 3 behind Pelle. Based on where Clasie is at the moment, I would suggest that he could spend some time at least behind Davis as he is far fitter and more mobile at the moment and can slot into one of the 2 DM positions much easier. JWP, I still don't really have a clue about position wise.
  20. Given that Clasie has a 5 year deal and of all the signings we've made, he's the most likely to need a season to adjust and spend time doing what he needs to do to face up to the physicality of the league. I wouldn't be surprised to see him below Romeu, Wanyama and Davis for the season ahead.

    JWP

Wouldn't read too much into Cork starting from the bench on Sat. Could be any number of reasons for it. It's certainly not indicative of his squad status. V. good player, wish we had him for this season.

    JWP

He gets lots of recognition as our academy poster boy and is regularly wheeled out by the FA due to his persona and maturity. This is turn means he gets quite a lot of media attention. Whether or not his actual playing ability or achievements to date actually merit all of that is another thing all together.
  23. It's the new £1M signing from Scandinavia.

    JWP

He does OK in spells, obviously he does have good technical attributes otherwise we wouldn't have made it as far as he has. The most frustrating element of his game is his lack of pace, power and aggression. Off the ball, players just waltz past him and he looks a child trying in vainly to catch up with an adult.
