  1. It takes a fairly special Saints player to be able to both gut me out completely yet fully maintain my respect for them as a man and a professional were they to head down the road. Niemi's one of them -but it would hurt.
  2. I do watch it if theres absolutely nothing else on the telly and im incredibly bored - heck i'd watch dogs and cats football if there was nothing else on telly, but (shock shock horror horror aren't I sexist) the quality and athleticism IS very poor. The beef i've always had with it is that its a classic example of the BBC and mainstream media shoving something down our throats and telling us to like it, despite the incredibly low audience (men don't want to watch it as its downright poor, and pretty much the same with female footy fans - who in my experience watch football for the same reasons we men do - for good quality and entertainment rather than buff men running round in shorts). This is why Youtube has been an absolute revolution - the audience is now dictating what they want to watch rather than making do with what channel4/bbc/itv/sky sees fit to provide us with like we're schoolchildren. Hence the success of channels like Dave and whatnot. But nevertheless, they gave womens football a good go - absurdly showing it on terrestrial TV (i remember the euro's and FA cup final etc.) - they really did try and MAKE us like it for the sake of political correctness/equality targets etc.etc. Fortunately they totally failed - by all means - women should play football and enjoy it as much as they like - have a good game and have fun, but don't expect us to bull**** that its even close to men's non-league level and that its in any way worth watching.
  3. We Saints fans never seem to rate our strikers - McGoldrick runs back to recieve the ball to feet and get things going and when he's not the furthest forward when we do attack we slate him Rasiak keeps his position always giving us a target to aim at and some hold-up play and when we don't have the ball and can't get it past the midfield or the other team is in posession and he doesn't run around - we slate him If you wanna play for Saints - don't play up front.
  4. He's also a ball-hogger and just one of those players that hates giving the ball to a teammate without having done something crowd-pleasing and showboating with it first. In short, he'll slow Barca the **** down big time
  5. We need a bag of pace up front and have done for a while Anyone thought about getting Blacktrick Agyemang on loan from QPR? I don't remember him playing much in their first team or having much fun last season at all so maybe we could nab him on loan?
  6. Rasiak was the one striker in a 4-5-1 against a vastly superior team that had at least 60% possession - he did his best and made a pest of himself when they had the ball, and when he did get a bit of service managed to make something of it and bring others into play. Going forward we actually looked half decent in the first half
  7. Why is everyone here slating Rasiak? He was brilliant yesterday - held the ball up, gave a few good touches and even has got a bit of pace now that he's lost weight. With him up front a 4-5-1 actually works
  8. I agree, the goalkeeper can marshall his back four kinda but can never really give a proper captain's influence on the game. We really do need an outfield skipper, preferably a central-midfielder. I would suggest Wotton but yno, what with him being totally **** n all...
  9. Very, very hit and miss it seems. For every time he spunks money up the wall on appalling players like Diawara and Traore he seems to find a great player for free like Iwelumo. On the plus side however, money really isn't an issue right now and an active manager is really what we need. A shakeup of things is just the ticket and knowing him he'll be on the phone all week looking for players.
  10. Klose Podolski Borowski and Trochowski all are Polish and Klose and Podolski even speak to each other in Polish whilst playing for ze Germans. and no, Ballack, Metzelder and Podolski aren't rubbish but they certainly aren't that good either. Most people had the Germans down to go out in the round of 16 against whoever they wound up against, England or Sweden. Truth is there were several vastly superior teams in that world cup to them and on paper German certainly weren't the 3rd best. However, as they finished third, they overachieved = success on Klinsmann's part
  11. Considering he got one of the worst German teams i've seen in a while in terms of talent to the semi-finals of the world cup through sheer enthusiasm, passion and making the most of fan support I think we could do a helluva lot worse
  12. Put simply, no it wouldn't The fricking wind'll blow them away Besides which - can't we just play a sodding 4-4-2?
  13. Odds on some Muslim nutters protesting against the march and heckling 'em?
  14. Ironically I hope the cameras are accurate! Short and stocky with a low centre of gravity is exactly the build for a full-back we need. Mills/James/Surmans trouble playing that position was that often their opposing wingers would be stronger than them and charge past them far too easily
  15. wtf is that supposed to mean? attention-seeking ****wit
  16. got money - lil wayne
  17. I honestly don't care, I genuinely think he's the most overrated player we've had at Saints certainly since relegation from the premiership Think about it He's a devoted attacking-midfielder who creates nothing can't shoot can't even beat a man it seems and really isn't actually that fast He's a passenger in every game and the best he can usually come up with is laying it off to a full-back or another midfielder
  18. god i know! does my head in! I mean it really is simple **** One guy on the front post to flick it on if the cross is underhit and another past the far post to head it back into the mix if its overhit - yet we never had either!
  19. Don't hate me because you wish you were me. That is all.
  20. seconded - besides the pompey connection his record when managing them proved that he is quite simply a clueless, inept, poor manager
  21. Seriously - suck his **** - w/e it takes just keep him
  22. sorry i meant to quote the delldays ^
  23. meh that applies to basically every single club that has a sugar-daddy take it over I mean by that rationale you may as well **** on the signing of a great new player by simply saying that he might not play all that well in the end. The £30 million debt is gone - and whilst this guys in charge we're highly unlikely to fall into financial problems again and have money to burn on players.
  24. Rasiak quite simply wont stay and as for John I can't see him wanting to stay/not being wanted by another club.
