 Mate he's fallen over almost every chance to cross the ball he gets and if by some minor miricle his foot makes contact with the ball when he's within 10 yards of a corner flag it always ends up going behind the goal - he can't cross for **** and i've had a ST last year so believe me i know
-
...surely sarcasm?

guys can someone just clarify this for me: If no takeover is completed by Friday what actually happens? I mean is that really the day that everything from the computers to the picture of the train is sold off at auction and Southampton FC basically ends?
-
Don't use it as a trigger or reason but as an earlier poster suggested just have the demise of the club running in the background as a sort of mirror.
-
Well he'll naturally want to leave and we're in no position to be too fussy. 1.5 millions about right I think and he certainly wouldn't be particularly useful in League 1 - good player don't get me wrong but he needs better players around him to be of any great effect.

Keegan, definately. People talk about the fact that he'd "bring us all together" and that in his own "symbolic" way as if those things are merely feel-good factors and would make no actual tangible difference. but in short - i think they would -bigger crowds -more money -a man with a genuine care for the club -more media attention -an ambitious and active manager who the new owners would take pride in -also world reknowned so players who might otherwise leave may stay -and players who otherwise might not want a transfer to southampton might -louder crowds and increased passion from supporters (last season goes to show that a half-empty stadium with many fans at a point of total apathy doesn't exactly do wonders for the home record) and those are all factors regardless of keegans ability as a manager - which i think is good enough at least, but essentially keegan for the "symbolic" sake of keegan isn't as meaningless as it sounds at first - and he should definately be our number 1 target.

Bloody beat me to it! - if not the funniest then definately head and shoulders the most outrageous -
Make sure you bring your binoculars - aren't you like 500 yards from the pitch or something ridiculous there
-
So long as we don't risk further points deductions then i'd be cool with battling on
-
4-4-2 where'd you 4-4-2 get that idea? ...4-4-2
-
Put it this way - can you imagine Barcelona playing 4-3-3 using Henry as their central "target man" striker? McGoldrick may be no Henry but he's not a target man and is clearly built to play in a 4-4-2. All our players are built to play in a 4-4-2. As an English player you ****ing grow up with 4-4-2. We played better today with 4-4-2. I'm well behind Jan and I honestly do like his mentality and how he's built the team but he just needs to bite the ****ing bullet on this one and go 4-4-2

I mean don't get me wrong, we WILL lose this game but meh - corner goal - good stuff
-
US?! from a CORNER!?
-
Another total fudge-'em-together mish-mash of a back four.
-
My own take on it was that in the final 3 minutes we looked a bit chaotic, panicky and disorganised and Coventry could have probably nicked it so JP just went for a substitution to give us 20/30 seconds rest to get our heads together and get our shape back. Make sure we didn't concede a silly late goal.
-
Not by definition it isn't. If you saw the 4-1 against QPR and the 3-0 against Watford we weren't outplayed. As for the 4-1 against Coventry and the 3-0 against Swansea then yes we were.
-
Coventry - at best 1 point, probably 0 Preston - at best 1 point, probably 0 Bristol - at best 3 points, probably 1 Wolves - at best 1 point, probably 0 Reading - at best only 2 or 3-0, probably 5 or 6-0

will the designated penalty taker please stand up...

Wotton shouldn't take them, no professional football should have to resort to bashing it down the middle, any old talentless tosser can do that especially if they don't even disguise where the shot is going. FACT: LE TISSIER DIDN'T EVER PUT A PENALTY DOWN THE MIDDLE - NOT ONCE IN HIS CAREER Any professional footballer with the responsibility of taking a penalty should have no trouble hitting it with power at one of the corners, if the keeper makes a save from a penalty like this, then fair enough, the trouble with the pens yesterday was just how pitiful they both were. -
Davis James - Perry - Lancashire - Mills Lallana - Cork - Wotton - Surman DMG - Pekhart

But yeah in all seriousness the fact that we're rock bottom of that list is kinda depressing
-
I'm not hitting the panic button just yet, if you had offered me 6 points from our past 3 matches i'd have jumped for joy, but all we can really do is hope that today was a one-off and thank our lucky stars we've got an international break before one of the "easier" games in the league. Still, that doesn't take away from the fact that today genuinely was our worst performance of the season and improvements will have to be made, regardless of what our target for the season is. Today was indeed terrible but in the grand scheme of things, we're doing ok. I don't think anyone realistically thinks we're going to be challenging for the play-offs at the end of the season but the targets i feel we need to achieve for this one are 1) an improvement on last seasons position and 2) an improvement in the general style of football, effort and work from the players, both of which are on course to be achieved. Was today's game a shambles and our worst game this season? - yes. Should we be hugely worried about the way things are going at the moment? - at least not yet, we are on a slow, but upward, curve. My point is simply to lets try and be level headed about things.
-
3-1 is hugely flattering
-
BUT 1) Nothing gives you more confidence from 12 yards like having just scored one in the game already. 2) The one who takes the first is quite simply going to be the better pen taker. Swings and roundabouts dude.

the dude you were talking about even
