Same failings from where I'm sitting - Moussa not knowing what to do with his feet, McCarthy kicking the ball into touch like it's rugby, Lyanco celebrating nonsense and still giving up goals for fun. Adams totally isolated up top and fluffing the few chances he gets. Same players, same failings. Hell of a lot of work needed. Need some takers for Moussa, Lyanco and McCarthy ASAP.

Honestly, the bloke is an absolute tool. I'd give him to Bestikas for free.
-
This is absolutely diabolic from us, being given a dicking by Bournemouth. Keep it respectable, they look on a different planet to us.
-
If I'm honest, I'll be staggered if we get our money back on him. £15m tops imo. That January transfer window was an absolute cluster fuck.
-
Can't find what I saw now, but it was regarding Lilie - he was travelling over there this week, ''things will now move quickly'' was the tone of the bit I read, as he has decided to leave. No chance he stays.

Sulemana is off back to Liege 1 - should be done this week.
-
Not sure where you saw that, all that's on his twitter feed is a reply to a question from a fan where he states Burnley are 'trying' as we need money. Feel like taking whatever he says with a pinch of salt tbh.

Agreed, I'm desperate to see movement at CB as none of the ones we have are either good enough or committed - I guess for the start of the season we'll be going Stephens and Bednarek, but I hope we can shift on Lyanco, ABK and Salisu sharpish so we can get some more progressive CB options (Ronnie Edwards etc)
-
I think it's fair to say we're in a bit of a holding pattern at the moment, without these moves we simply cannot evolve the squad - not financially, just because of the sheer size of it. I'm sure we'd love Ronnie Edwards for e.g, but unless Lyanco, ABK and Salisu piss off then we will not be getting a CB in the door. It's a frustrating situation because in respect of ABK and Salisu we can't even count on them as players, they simply won't play - they'll down tools - so we really need to get them gone by hook or by crook. Similar is true of our full back positions really, it's a massive luxury to be here with Bree, Livramento, KWP, Manning and Larios - there will undoubtably be one of KWP or Livramento out of the door before the end of the window in my opinion, it's all too unbalanced atm. I'm sure we'd have expected to have shifted much more than we have by now, especially our 'star players' - but the bids coming in are derisory really. It makes no sense to sell Lavia for any less than £45m (straight cash, no add on nonsense), otherwise we might as well keep him for a year and sell him back to City for the pre-agreed £40m next summer. It's very frustrating how clubs are happy to offer £70m for Cacedio or £45m for Paulina, yet subject us to sub-£30m bids for our equivalents.

There will be a breaking point at some point in August, the players are quite calm at the moment but if it comes to August and they still don't have anything lined up I can imagine the attitudes will change. What we don't want to do is paint ourselves into a corner by playing hard ball now, then having to give in during late August and having zero time to actually replace, or having to ridiculously overpay ourselves with panicked deals. It's a really difficult one and I guess only the club know truthfully how certain individuals will react as the weeks tick on.

I've learnt to take anything Charlie says with a pinch of salt.

Latest transfer - Henderson to Gerrard's new club over there, he's getting £750,000 per week!!! This is where average folk are just going to fall out of love with football, how is that justifiable in any way what so ever? It's very similar to what China tried a few years ago, but I don't think the money is going to dry up this time. I can think of plenty of better uses for 750k p/w than Jordan flaming Henderson though.
-
I'm so pleased for him that he's been able to go full-circle, you don't often get strong affiliations with players but he is one from the recent years I'd have back here at a shot - love the guy. I hope he does well there and fills a pretty big Busquets hole. It's a shame he won't get to play at the Camp Nou though.
-
Pretty much got our money back for a player who ultimately failed. Can't complain about that.
-
Gave 100%, cannot deny that, but so limited and prone to disasters most games. Glad we've managed to shift him on if i'm honest. If that's him, and potentially Diallo out of the door.....that's massively debloating the squad of the crap we came down with, will be a good start.
-
He's the relegation specialist.
-
I don't think he's ever been a particularly consistent ball player, he can do a random trick once in a blue moon but the most consistent attribute is him underhitting, overhitting or misplacing a pass and playing everyone into trouble. You've described him perfectly there, and that's how he's always been. Too emotional, plays with his heart and not his head. And he's very limited ability wise. I really hope he goes as I think he will be a disaster in the Championship.
-
Of course he was going to do that, he's Mr Celebrity.
-
I love Alcaraz's instinct to get into the box, his finishing is so accurate 90% of the time as well. He'd get more goals than Adams if he was played up top. I think it's going to be ridiculous having a player of Charly's ability in the Championship, we need to make sure we make the most out of it!

Romeo Lavia - Official: Signs for Not Liverpool
S-Clarke replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
I think clubs need to just pay the going rate for this kid and stop trying to cheap out, it's not just his ability but he's such a good character. That's one of the main reasons he will go right to the top. There is no risk associated with signing him. Bristol City want £25-30m for Alex Scott, I don't think £50m is a ridiculous ask at all - he's probably worth more if we're honest, but relegation has harmed his peak value. -
Hasn't this always been a thing though, people not happy with their job on a Sunday evening/Monday morning? Is there a generation now making more out of this than need be? (as with everything else). Or does it translate to them being out of their depth and not able to do the job they're in?? A career is a means to an end really, but like others on here looking back I'd have probably done something different. I think it's important not to focus on the chase the most dollar, don't rush it thinking you need to earn x by year 2026 or whatever. First and foremost is to find a career you know you'll fit into and grow in, the money will usually follow after that - and at the end of the day, what's more important? Having tons of money, hating your job, and not having any time to do anything or see your family? Or somewhat enjoying your job and earning enough to live a comfortable lifestyle? I know what I'd choose tbh. No one has ever loved 'jobs' or loved working though, only a tiny, tiny select few ever get that dream job. In the main it is a means to an end - you just need to find the right fit for you so you can make the best out of it for yourself.
-
Then he stays imo - think we're in a position to play this one on our terms given the contract situ. Salisu and Adams are slightly different, as I think we'd accept any 'reasonable' offers for those guys.

Please help support Oxford United’s new stadium proposal
S-Clarke replied to Oxford fan in peace's topic in The Saints
Completed, good luck. -
If he had 1 year left, yeah - 15m. But his contract is up in 2025, so we should be aiming for the 20-25 mark in my eyes.

You can't underestimate how critical an attribute it is to have been in the Swan Centre, or spent your lunch breaks sat on the bandstand in Eastleigh. You haven't lived.
