Pleased for Best, always felt he had ''something'' but our management under him was utter ****e, so we'd have never found it. Did well at Cov and has developed into a pretty handy CF at premiership level. Good to credit the quality of the coaches for that to be honest...
-
We'd have never stood a chance to be honest. Wouldn't have been worth wasting time over.
-
That's brummies for you!
-
according to brum fans it's his best position for them, as he doesn't have the pace or strength to play CB.
-
Agreed with that, he was diabolical for them and a liability that day.
-
Oh stop speaking such crap.
-
lol good luck with that.

He didn't look great, but we did defend well against him. He clearly has pace and a bit of power, but struggled to impose himself in the game in all honesty. He'll have better games, that's for sure. Still wouldn't put him in the £4m category.
-
Possibly a little today, but he'll get games like that though, he was different class against Wes Morgan at Forest who's rated as one of the best at this level, and he outpaced Ipswich's defense at Portman road. He's shown to be very effective at this level so far, I just found that comment bizarre.

err yes, I think we're all having doubts over the championships top scorer.

I think there is something afoot by the sounds of it.

Chaplow is a great sub because he's full of energy, against knackered players who have been chasing us for 70 odd mins it's a great tool to have. He's looking like the player from his Burnley days in an attacking sense, gets into great positions and his timing of runs into the box is terrific. I liked him at the tip of the diamond today, thought it worked well.

A pretty faultless start to the season really, it's given us such a great platform to build on. I didn't expect us to be where we are...

Bit of a sloppy start from us, Watford came at us a bit for the first 15 mins, but after we got to grips with it and started to pass the ball around, it was an incredibly straight forward win. The 2nd half was the best half from us though, we caused them so many problems with our movement off the ball and there was always a player in space to receive the ball, and we have players with the agility to play themselves out of tight areas. Some of our football 2nd half was sublime, the back to front total football move was outstanding - and I'm gutted the goalie saved Chappers shot, that would have been such an amazing goal to drool over. For me, Richardson was MOTM, closely followed by Lambo who as well as scoring goals is always aware of what's around him and reads the game superbly - as well as a goal scorer he is a terrific supply line too. Nice to see us a couple of points clear at the top and we have a real cushion in the top 6 now going into a group of very tricky games. The start is beyond anyone's expectations and I'm just enjoying every moment of it.

He has been outstanding all season, best RB in the league on this form.

I think the funniest post in this thread is from the person who said No.

Great interview, got to love his enthusiasm - it's infections, and that's got to pass onto the team and how they play.

The Championship was awful on ITV, for one it was poorly put together and rushed. They ****ed around with fancy arty shots which missed most of the action and annoyingly it was on bright and early on a Sunday morning..... The BBC have a great slot with the football league show, you can enjoy MOTD...and then more football follows. It's in a time when most blokes will be up and about to watch it, and the coverage is better - and we get decent analysis from the guys. Glad they've scrapped the text messaging segment this year as that was cringe worthy - I hope they keep the show on the BBC though, it's far more professional than anything ITV could ever produce.
-
I expect it to be honest, give it a year or so and Alex will be known as one of their own home-grown players. ''Hasn't Wenger done an amazing job developing this young kid?" etc.
-
Still pretty **** though isn't it? For the so called best supporters in the world
-
Would agree in part, but I'd give Conners a break. Put Guly up top with Lambo, he's been pretty useful as a striker in the past. (that shows how stretched we are up front....we need a loan)
-
first goal was a socking punt down the field, we didn't deal with the bounce and Davis was caught too far out. Not pretty defending. The 2nd was just a give away from Jos, sloppy passing and their player played in Miller who finished very well.
-
Defensively we've not been as assured as last year, but that was always going to be the case as we step up. Some of the strikers we came up against in L1 were truly shocking and didn't really pose any threat. We're now coming up against international level players and it's a totally different ball game. Alot of our problems this year have been caused from full back though, because we attack and score goals as we do...we do seem to get caught down the flanks on the break. Get De Ridder in the team and get a bit of recovery pace on the right and I think that'll help us.
-
Yep, agree, that's true - but I don't think it's anything to really worry about yet.....when we stop creating those chances we can start to worry.
-
...i still think it's amazingly unrealistic, but we'll see.
