  1. Yeah, this is causing serious concern for the MetO. On current viewing it's similar to what hit scotland last week (possibly higher gusts) but it will be more widespread affecting the entire country in some way. We also have a pretty big weather system to get past tomorrow night first.
  2. We need to improve our away form if we want to be promoted. If we carry on doing as we're doing away from home, it will start to hang over on our home form and we'll slide down the league pretty quickly. If we can add a bit of pace to the team in January then I think we have different options to use in games, especially away on the break etc. We never really replaced Chambo's pace, and If he was here this year I'm pretty confident we'd have won a few more games. Overall though, the fact we're even talking about this in december is pretty impressive. 2011 has been a year to remember for SFC - let's hope 2012 can take us up another notch.
  3. Yeah, that's what frustrates me about him - and many others I'm sure. We all saw his insane ability in that game, yet he's shown none of that when it really matters and has flattered to deceive in most games he's played. I mean when he starts games he's seriously ineffective, he's only useful coming on as a sub. I think it's quite telling that Adkins doesn't see him as a wide player anymore.
  4. Here we go.
  5. Agree with Phillips, have been a big fan since his Wycombe days and was frustrated we didn't sign him then (we tabled a couple of bids for him). Not sure Jay Rod is the type of player we need, we need a forward with pace who can play on the shoulder.
  6. I don't think Bart was ever in danger of being voted our best player though, even forgetting today.
  7. I remember a few years ago he went out on loan when we were in L1, to Barnsley I think? Their fans raved about him and he pulled out some amazing performances. I just think he feels too much pressure playing for us, like he has to make sure everything is perfect and take this chance etc - and he doesn't react properly to that. He's been dodgy in every game he's played this season for us. It doesn't help when fans get on his back after 3 mins though. That was a nasty bit of handling, but he didn't deserve the abuse he was getting from people around me at that point. I don't think that sort of heckling is going to help an obviously nervous person.
  8. We have lots of good players and a good team. Lallana is our best player in terms of technique, agility, ability to do things no one else can. Lambert is the figurehead, the guy our attack is built around and the sort of rugged striker that can pull you out of the mire.
  9. Have thought for a while we need another RM, and the striker position is a no brainer. Totally agree with you on the need for pace. We need to have that to change it around every now and then, and having someone playing on the shoulder feeding off Lambo could be a stunning partnership. Holmes will probably leave once we get in our new wide player, Jaidi is out injured and retiring at the end of the season. He'll stay here and become a coach IMO. Forecast - no comment, bored with him. I think Dicko is injured, but he won't get near this team anymore.
  10. Fox has the better technique and agility, but apart from that there isn't a great deal between them. A good tussle between those 2.
  11. Flatters to deceive is how I'd describe him.
  12. Makes total sense, the 2 positions that we most needed to strengthen. SDR just hasn't done it for me, or NA by the sounds of it. Blow the bank and get Adomah and Maynard
  13. Good read that, thanks.
  14. Agree with every word of that. Exactly how I see the situation.
  15. Just think, this time a year ago we'd been beaten at home by Brentford 2-0. We didn't look anything like a promotion team and quite a few had already written the season off. A year on, and we're top of the league above. Staggering progress in 2011.
  16. A fantastic set of results for us today really. Frustrating we couldn't win to regain our 5pt lead.
  17. Yes, you're right.
  18. a young academy kid......or.................................................forecast.
  19. I heard he was injured again, didn't know how long though. We need a striker full stop. Spend big bucks and bring in the leagues best striker...(ok, 2nd best as we've already got the best!!!). and then get another on loan. Feel sorry for Barnard, cause he's not been able to make an impact at this level for us.

    Calf injury IIRC.
  21. It's a great run, so pleased we managed to keep at least that intact!!
  22. What a truly bizarre thread, containing the predictably bizarre posters.
  23. I remember in our play off season, he refused to play in the 2nd leg and was a bundle or nerves - which is why Davis replaced him. That came from Malcolm Webster.
  24. He will be a good keeper at a club where he's playing regular. That will not be here, and his time is now up for me. His opportunities have been few and far between, but when he's given a chance he makes horrendous errors. Remember the goal he concerned earlier in this season in the carling cup...? Move him on and get an experienced backup. I wouldn't trust him at all after today.
  25. Disappointing to lose the winning record, but it was going to come eventually. I thought we should have been a couple up in the first half, we created some brilliant chances and when Rickie was through I thought 2 for sure....good save though to be fair. After the break we didn't look the same team, and that mistake by bart was just horrendous. I'm frustrated for him, he waits so long for his chances yet he's always dodgy. He's an incredibly nervous keeper and I think his time is up with us. He'll be a cracking keeper at a club where he's playing regular, but he's used too few and far between here to gain any sort of confidence. He looked like he was made of jelly all match, and you felt that if they hit a shot like that he'd do something like that. We didn't work their keeper enough in the 2nd half, alot of possession but very little punch or energy in the final third - that's where we miss Chappers drive. The 3 midfielders we had in there are all pretty much the same type of player, safe, sideways, backwards....no real penetration from the middle, and that's where we struggled. SDR just flatters to deceive for me, never really does anything other than turn around in circles and make the wrong decisions. We never gave up though, and that's what a run we've been on gives you....great cross to Lambo and he's scored so many from that position this season - you knew it was in as soon as the ball came to his head. Our performances have been dipping slowly, as to be expected, but with our performances away from home being as they are it was eventually going to hang over on our home form. Next week is the perfect opportunity to put that right...
