I saw that, it was a really nice read. I hope he can now look down and see how many people he did make happy, I'm sure that's all he really wanted to do.

The Official Summer Transfers and HCDAJFU Thread
S-Clarke replied to supersonic's topic in The Saints
Exactly the case. It's not so much us not wanting to buy players, the market is just not there at the moment. -
ahhhh, sad. he loved his little adventure with us didn't he? he was always beaming with that really genuine, heartwarming smile.

Fantastic idea alps, let's make it the slogan to our season. WIFM!

have a word with yourself.

I am a bit suprised by this, but it is a fantastic gesture by all concerned

seriously isn't the time for this.

Maybe his family wish to keep it private? haven't got a problem with it.

I would imagine officials in the club were aware of his condition as it seems he has been ill for a while.

Every picture i see of him is bringing a tear to my eye too, as he's smiling in every single one of them. He loved it, and i'm so happy he got to see us win at Wembley. Just a shame we couldn't get prompted for him, but we'll do that this season in his memory. ''win it for markus'' The world has lost a great man today, it's not just about the club.

What a truly great man he was.

Bolton it is, decent test.

Don't think this thread is a good idea. Let them talk to themselves, Markus doesn't deserve any of that. Let's just focus on saints.

they're skates, so yes.

THAT's the picture - fantastic, love it.

they are despicable human beings based on some of their comments i've read this evening.

I’m still in shock at the news, but I would like to take the time to thank him for all he did in the short time he was here and add a little more to my original post, I’m sure it will be echoed by all Saints fans. When it was speculated that Markus was in the running to take us over, I believe we all wanted this one to happen – it seemed to stand out as the one deal that would really take us in the right direction. When it was announced that he was taking over the sense of relief in the city was so clear to see, he’d just saved our club with his hard earned money and personal wealth, that needs to be applauded, not many people would do that. We’d just got ourselves an honest and genuine owner. His pride in his purchase was clear to see, he only recently updated his mali-group website with a picture of him wearing a Saints scarf and I’ll never forget his face at Wembley when the cup was being lifted in front of him, there he was snapping away with his camera with the biggest grin you will ever see – that spoke volumes for me. But thanks Markus, thanks for saving the club, thanks for giving us hope and turning us in the right direction. You’ll always be a saint and you’ll never be forgotten in Southampton history, no matter how short your tenure was the difference you made was so clear to see and is appreciated by us all. R.I.P.

His stated ambition was Premier League football and, although ownership of the club’s holding company is now expected to move to the family, they have already reassured staff that they do not intend to make any changes.

I'm not sure they will. With Adam Stansfield at Exeter, the players knew him, the coaches and management worked with him every day. The players and management didn't know Markus like that, they may have met him once or twice but he wasn't part of their team every day. I think Markus would like us to get on and play the game, win it for him and kick start this season for him. I think that's the best option.

Totally agree CB - great post.
-
yeh that was saeijs, can't actually remember Liptak playing for us...he was on the bench once or twice
-
I don't think we will be tbh. Markus would want his interest to be continued by someone he trusts, he wouldn't want to see it sold off to the highest bidder, i'm sure of that.

Our pre-season friendly's in Switzerland, i noticed he wasn't at Plymouth and did wonder why.
