Sounds good, i quite like the views coming from these italian based media people - they'll know exactly what he's about. Looking forward to seeing him, seems like he's exactly what we wanted. Just fingers crossed on the injury front.
-
I'm completley baffled at how he's questioning that signing.
-
Pards confirmed on Saints player that it will be his strongest avaliable team, as the likes of Lambo, Punch and Adam need the games. If clearance is received, Gully will play a part.
-
I've just listened to Pard's interview on saints player and he knows pretty much everything about the player, down to his height and weight! He knows how he plays, his strengths and what he'll bring to us. It's probably a cortese instigated deal due to his contacts, but i'm pretty sure Pardew had a good look at this guy before giving it the ok - and he seems genuinely chuffed that he's got him.

Quite an interesting line in Pard's pre-match interview on saints player. Something along the lines of - ''Punch, Adam and Lambert aren't quite there yet - and we're suffering because of that. They need 3 of 4 games to get to speed, but we may need to bring in someone of a similar level that will push them for their place - and hopefully we'll do that before Saturday'' -
we will sign more alps, don't panic.
-
It might be a ''gamble'' but he's a safe gamble, becuase he's not tied to us until we decide to get him signed. He's on ''trial'' until january and it will be interesting to see how he settles. This isn't the last signing either, we'll have another one in before saturday according to Pard's. Watch the window get interesting now.
-
why? think about it alps. He's a brazilan that's been playing in the slow paced world of italian football for 8 years, if he comes here and struggles to adapt to the pace he can go back in January with no harm done to us. If we had signed him for 800k on a 3 year deal we could be lumbered with a player that isn't right for this league. The deal protects us.

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_6331374,00.html are we one of the clubs, possibly? we were linked a few weeks ago and Pardew signed him for Charlton. -
i think it's just bad lighting, you can see the shadow on pard's top.
-
that's confirmation for me
-
i think that's what we've done. according to some reports reading wanted over £1m for Antonio which is complete and utter madness this other guy (Prado) is more experienced, probably isn't as quick, but is around 300k cheaper.
-
that wasn't my opinion btw! i was quoting it from 606 and agree with your post. i'm actually looking forward to seeing him play if he signs.
-
''Serie B????? That league is more micke mouse than league two. More proof that AP doesn't know what he is doing. Spending £1m on tosh from the lower leagues of Italy is poor. We could sign two good league one players for that money. Pardew out'' nice one.
-
but he's been in Italy for 8 years...so surley he'll apply for a dual citizenship?
-
click on forum in the top right. there's a 2 page thread on him leaving.

When punch plays well we destroy teams. Bristol rovers, Huddersfield, Wallsall - he was unplayable during those games. He's a good player but he has struggled with an injury during pre-season so probably isn't as sharp as he'd like to be.
-
He will frustrate and delight, you just have to stick with him through the frustrating times as he is still a potential match winner.
-
They do seem a bit gutted. How are we managing to get a potential first choice Serie A player to League 1? madness. I was suprised with Papa Waigo - but he wasn't involved at his club, by the stats this guy played a key role in getting them to Serie A.

I think that's exactly what Pardew has been alluding to in the past few weeks.
-
Decent enough, but i find him slow and against real pace i think he could really struggle. Otsemebor wasn't great, but he offered us that pace to recover on the break. Our defence is very very slow now, in fact the team is. We've lost all the pace we had last year.
-
Probably true. I reckon a draw may keep him in place for another week, but he is really hanging by a thread. I don't agree with him being hung out this early though, but it seems as if Cortese had his mind made up last year.
