God I remember that game, their game plan revolved around stopping us playing football, time wasting and showing no ambition to win the game themselves. In fact I thought they were one of the worst teams we've played at home this year.
-
Nope....we conceded just before HT, came out in the 2nd half much the better team tbh.

That's a very good point you raise there. Brightons game plan is revolved around them having time on the ball, lots of possession, passing it around, exploiting space etc. They don't really play another way. As you said the league above us a step up, players are fitter and stronger and Brighton will not have as much time or free space with the ball. I don't think we play 'hoofball'' all the time either, I think we intelligently mix it up and play to our strengths. Some of our goals this year have been fantastic footballing goals, yet some of them have been punts down the field, flick on and a goal. I honestly think you get more success in the championship by having a mixture of both - I thought this when we were in there with Burley, we played some great stuff but then Derby mixed it up a bit more and got the success from that.

That's really good to hear. Totally puts to bed the **** about players not wanting to play for Adkins. I'd imagine alot of his emotion was driven from the brighton fans constant abuse at him too.

Ref with a bit of common sense for a change!
-
They've made flags directed at us, changed their pre-match music montage for us and also had their programme printed with a sentence to get at us. All that effort and they still lost - good going. Why are they so bothered anyway? I couldn't care two hoots about them and I've never seen them as a rivalry and never will (Same with Bournemouth). Poyet's comments pre-match about this being a Derby game were nonsense - it's just another noddy club trying to find a rival. We have similar when we play Reading too, really sad.
-
Cheers Baj - great celebration from Fonte! loved it.
-
@ loydjames26 Well done saints big result think that was the win to take them up well done!!
-
Quality Saint_Jonny - great find. That along with their ''special'' pre-match music montage is brilliant. They have just confirmed their noddy club status really, and I thought them bringing out a DVD of their win at St Mary's was sad enough.

Well that's been clear to see for weeks tbh!

I can see a huge walk up for Monday's game, nice weather and a bank holiday. Walsall should be a complete sell out, I'd be surprised if there are still tickets available on the week leading up to it. Wouldn't it be nice to celebrate a final day with a Trophy and a promotion? Rather than relegation or just avoiding relegation....that's all I've ever experienced!

Apparently as well, according to bright lights on here, he's not had a good season we're performing below expectations and Cortese is getting the P45 ready.
-
Who the hell can blame him after all the personal abuse that was directed at him from that side all game.
-
There is! if you keep clicking for a while.. ''The wheels are in motion and everyone wants to be on the bus.''
-
Connolly on there now, I don't think I've ever heard him speak since he's been with us.

TBF they're a gracious bunch. Don't mind them as fans and a decent club too. This result could shatter their players psychologically though - they know they need to win every single game now, no margin for error now - Is that too much...?
-
Greer should be back, who was missing today due to suspension - he's arguably their best CB.
-
If only it was that simple! If you apply that logic to it we should have beaten Walsall and Tranmere too! Very tricky and pressured games coming up - no doubt about it, but this result means we continue to lead the race.
-
lol. That's brilliant.

I can't see any how professional football player or a football club could set out to lose a game. This will be their final home game at the Withdean and a ''party'' for them as they get the Trophy and the lap at the end of the game. It will be very very tricky for Huddersfield.
-
He doesn't just have a plan B, he has a plan c as well! 3 tactical changes today influenced this result. The one criticism i had for Pardew is we'd keep playing the same way even if it wasn't working, now we have a manger that's not scared to make a change or even 2.
-
Win the two home games, pick up a point from one of the away games and that'll give us 87. That will be enough even if Hudders win 2 and draw 1 of their remaining 3 (meaning they extend their unbeaten record). They should get 86 points from their two home games, but I reckon they'll drop them at Brighton. I can't see Brighton losing their last ever game at the Withdean. I still think that'll do it, but these home games still make me nervous, they should be wins....but who knows!! still a lot of work to be done
-
I just knew we'd win this one, we always manage to raise it for the bigger games which makes the Rochdale and Walsall results even more frustrating! Hartlepool at home will be the killer test though - comes very quickly after this one and we've put so much into this. We should win it...but let's not count our chickens just yet, still a long way to go in order to secure this! This team is terrific though, the complete mentalist that said before the game ''we don't have the mental strength as other teams'' - care to come and retract that comment? This is the sort of win that could psychologically kill Huddersfield.

Sounded a bit of a dodgy start there!
