good point, but i still don't think that would stop them looking for ''special dispensation'' !
-
he was last season, but they couldn't afford to make it permanent
-
No chance of getting him at this level, I'd imagine he's pretty likely to go to the skates.
-
I know what you mean, but his interview seemed a lot more honest and he speaking from his mind rather than a pre-contrived club statement. It's impossible not to notice his passion for it.
-
He comes across really well, i love his enthusiasm, not just for football, but for managing us - you can see how much he wants to succeed in his eyes. That sort of passion and enthusiasm will transfer to the players and we're only going one way when that happens. ''We're going to be the best team in the league, simple as that'' - love it.

Training gallery- is the last picture on the OS Adam Lallana?
S-Clarke replied to Ashley Grute's topic in The Saints
according to the OS - lallana end of oct, richardson expected back in october - so i'd assume towards the start/mid of october. -
Where's this coming from? has it been said he could feature or something? He hasn't played for s****horpe this season and has pretty much become just a coach - although in an emergency he's registered as a player.
-
What's the point of this thread?
-
Matthew Le God mentioned it in another thread, not sure where he got it from though. But it seems likely he'll stay on as he mentioned as much in his first press-conf. something along the lines of ''The chairman has asked me to take control of the team for the foreseeable future, he's assured me that i'll have a future here no matter what''
-
I think you look at all the great players that we've had over the years, the great nights in the dell, the 27 years consecutive in the top flight. We do have a great history for a club at this level.
-
Crosby was player/coach at S****horpe, but was only used in emergencies - he hasn't featured much in the last year.
-
RIP - i'm sorry to hear. All the best.
-
I like the way he talks. I know the proof is in the pudding, but i have confidence that given time (it won't happen straight away) that we could be great to watch. We certainly have the players and i felt a few of our lads were being isolated at times due to our long ball tactics (i.e lallana)
-
Apparently he's the first team coach, so he'll just carry on his current role and work alongside Adkins and Crosby. I'm glad he's staying on because he's a good coach, our success last year was as a team - and he was part of that team.
-
Adkins press call is tomorrow, i see no problem with them telling the press to wait until then.
-
It really is showing what a waste the pre-season really was.

...+1

That's quite a lazy post art. He's got all his coaching badges, he was once a physio but he's been a manager for almost 5 years now.
-
So Fonte isn't championship quality then? you can apply the same logic to that. He's dropped down a division because he see's the challenge, i doubt he'd join another club at this level if asked - maybe Wednesday but that's all. He's dropped down because he's taken scunny as far as he can - we're lucky he's chosen us IMO.
-
They are a better team than us at the moment, they're very together as a unit and that's credit to the work Adkins has done there. But i wouldn't say they've got any one that's individually better than anyone in our team. I don't think that's being arrogant, but i think a lot of our players could potentially walk into their team and improve it. One player i do like though is Rob Jones. He's a CB...not sure if we really need him though.

the Bournemouth chairman is a bit of an idiot, all things considered.
-
I hope people can now forget about Pardew, it's time to move on and i hope our fan base is intelligent enough to give this bloke a good enough chance.
-
On the surface i can see why many people are underwhelmed, but i think people need to take a step back and assess the situation in its entirety without giving quick knee-jerked views. (Which i have been guilty of in the past few weeks, i will hold my hands up to that now) It seems clear to me now that the Pardew sacking was not planned; i think we all assumed it was at the time and that's why there was a lot of anger and frustration vented. I think it's fair to say that Nicola was probably put in an extremely difficult situation, a situation he didn't really want to find himself in so soon after the death of such a close friend and colleague in Markus. It seems to me that the appointment of Adkins is well thought out and a lot of time has been taken into ensuring that the right man takes this club forward, and sometimes the experienced names aren't always the best option. WGS was a ''big name'' appointment at Middlesbrough, but it's not really worked out for him for one reason or another - so appointing an experienced name doesn’t' always guarantee success. I think Adkins has proven he's competent, intelligent and forward-thinking in his approach to management and I feel that approach could work really well here. Looking at Scvnthorpe’s squad, how he’s managed to keep them in the championship - and competitive - is a downright miracle and he's got to have something about him to have achieved that. I'm quite excited by his appointment, he seems enthusiastic and very passionate for the job here and people say the managers thoughts often transfer to the way the team play - i hope we can see the results of this soon. All in all, it's a good, solid appointment. Some people will see it as a gamble, but i largely don't see it in that way. All of the current ''big'' managers got their big break somewhere - let's hope this is Adkins chance as i believe he has a big future.
