Pre match Manager interview on Saints player
S-Clarke replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
no one...just thought I'd clarify it, as there's more chance of him being available as he's just a little ill - no nasty injuries. -
Pre match Manager interview on Saints player

Harding hasn't got an injury, he's sick -
They are trying to find a short-term loan as we speak.

A skates response to Sulivan and Gold saying they expect a prem club to go into admin: (now i don't know if this was said in jest, or if he's just a plain pillock) ''We dont have any debt...it cant be us Sulivan and Gold are talking about One player sell of 12million and we are sorted.''
-
It's nothing to do with the fact that he's local, it's that he is a good player, who is better than L1. You do realise that doncaster are actually above us in the leagues don't you? He was also interesting WBA, Cardiff and Birmingham in the summer - so he is very highly thought of. Oh and the fact that he's donny's captain and their player of the season goes someway to adding to our ''excitement'' levels.
-
I've lost count at the number of times i've seen our OS publish something like that, only for the player to be sold a week later. Football is dictated by money, if we give them what they want (which i'm sure we will) they'll accept it and he'll come. It was also him on facebook.
-
It's not a rumour david....
-
I'd be gobsmacked if Ward ever came here now, after we screwed him about.
-
don't think it is, southend's local rag came out saying they'd set a price of 200k a few months back.
-
seriously glasgow, how the hell is it an ''excuse''? we're not near the playoffs because of the -10 deduction. Saying that the -10 is an excuse is a bit misguided, don't you think? I'd love to get promoted this year, so would every saints fan - but don't go saying that the -10 and our non-preseason are excuses as to why we won't be. They are very valid reasons, how AP was expected to hit the ground running with the paper thin structure he had to work with is beyond me.
-
He was referring to a ''big'' premiership team, i.e top 4. i'd say liverpool...
-
The minus 10 put us there, the management/form/players we have has us in the top 10. whats the argument?
-
We had about 3/4 bids rejected by Exeter for seaborne, before we finally agreed a fee. If pard's really wants him, he'll be in a saints shirt before feb 1st.
-
Sounds like those 2 articles are rehashed versions of what AP said after the game. He mentioned valuations, he likes the player and that the 2 clubs have ''differing valuations''
-
''He's a player i like alot, he would be a fantastic addition for us. But at the moment our valuation does not meet doncasters valuation''
-
There is no way Fonte or Lambert will leave this window, or the next window. If we come to next jan and we're not near the promotion picture, then i'd expect them to get restless (and we'd probably say goodbye to AP too) - but they've signed up here for a project, not for a 6 month stint. they signed knowing that promotion this year would be a bonus, and not something that is 100% possible - so they won't sulk and demand a move if we don't go up.
-
Good thread, totally agree. anything achieved this season would have always been a bonus, why people are getting het up saying it's a failure if we don't get promoted this year is bizarre. It's great having ambition, i have no problem with that - but you have to be realistic with it.
-
you're exaggerating it to make a point. we have spent just under £2m, (add on's permitting etc) and without the -10 i would fully expect us to be promoted. why are people ignoring the -10 issue and our season preprations, thinking it's some sort of ''excuse''? it's a valid point and it's why we're 10 points off the flaming playoffs.
-
There's being ambitious, and then there's being realsitc. i'd like to think the majority of our fans are being realstic and looking at the situation with prespectiive, based on the start we had and our current distance from the playoffs. (which i think has given us a little too much to do)
-
i'd have expected them to be demanding upwards of £1m, which IMO, is fair. i guess we're arguing that Gillett will be part of the deal, so that will bring the price down.....but then again, wern't we prepared to let him go for 50k or something silly? tbf i expect this to go to the wire, if pard's really wants him, he'll get him.
-
tbf i don't think he's a ''defensive'' midfielder as such, he takes alot of long range shots at goal and drives forward - but from reading donny fans views he's primarily the sort of player to get a team passing. (sort of player i think we're crying out for imo)
-
don't think he's particularly quick - more of a ''get it, give it'' type player, gets teams passing - one of the reasons teams like WBA were looking at him.
-
nope, we're still on. we're on Sky sports 3, liverpool game is on 1.
