Connolly hasn't played for 2 years, how could he start a game at the moment? And Mellis is on international duty...
-
And we still have Connolly and Saganoswki (an international!!) on the bench. It will click soon.....

I don't think anyone is really asking for AP out - we all appreciate that time is needed and to a point, contituitity. He has a point to proove, as he had a bad time at Charlton - before that he was a well respected manager and coach and was even touted for the england managers job at one point. He hasn't lost those abilities over night and i hope that he's learnt from the mistakes he made at Charlton. What you can say though is he has identified our weaknesses quicker than any manager we have had for a long time - and has also corrected them by signing top class players. Not many managers can claim to make lots of good signings - but all of Pard's additions so far have been logical, well thought out and have improved us massively. I truly believe that we will be the team to beat next year - and possibly as soon as the 2nd half of this season. He's been given the tools, he's bought well - it's his team - and it's now up to him to get us winning consistently..... ...and i think all fans would love that and all hold the believe that this will work - no one wants him out.

It was only a matter of time with Barnes at Tranmere - although their poor form wasn't just down to his inability as manager - tranmere lost 6 players from the starting 11 from last season, so of course they were going to struggle. Still didn't get the logic of them parting company with Roonie Moore at end of last season though - they only finished 1 pt. outside the playoffs... Wycombe is an odd one - Taylor did a great job in bringing them up last season, but obviously they were always going to struggle as they weren't able to add to the squad. Maybe taylor knew there was no way to keep them up, and jumped ship?

http://www.southendunited.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10444~1821806,00.html you were right about Barnard - he's now fit. But Mvoto isn't as he's gone back to sunderland for treatment - and according to their fans, they're screwed without him...
-
He's got a knee injury, i think it's quite a bad one - he did it in training. It's a shame - because he was starting to play in a few matches, i saw him as a sub against wigan (i think) on MOTD and he didn't look out of place/off the pace at all.
-
Eng. U19 duty i think shame we have to split the attack up after the gills game
-
They love us - i remember they bought spongebob (i think?) to the game in the champ. also remember that Southend love-in after our last game in the playoff season? That was slightly cringe-worthy though tbf.
-
http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=446337 sunderland fans seem very fond of him

Groin and Hip according to some old articles, had to have some opp's.

Might as well start it early... Tough game this will be...one of those cramped intimidating grounds that we have struggled at so much in recent seasons. Listening to Pard's preview on Saints player, he's got an almost full squad to choose from. Morgan, Thomas and Lallana are back in the squad and ready to play and i assume Connolly will be involved in some capacity too. On southend's front...their main man (Lee Barnard) who has 10 goals this year is fighting to be fit and looks v doubtfull, along with their best defender Mvoto who's on loan from Sunderland. Pard's preview... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1821270,00.html

Every single one of his signings have improved us. Even Mellis has now started to prove his quality, and he was the only one the jury was still out on. I think it's a stark realisation of how bad we were last year, when our better players from last season (Gillet/Perry) cannot get into the team now...
