  1. We will get something there, simply because Charlton will leave space and let us play (Brentford had space through the middle yesterday and should have had at least 1 goal...) It's not going to be a ''hoof'' game - they're going to get it down and pass, so it should bring the best out in us (as long as we play the right players)
  2. Personally, for the short time he played there, i liked the look of him playing off lambert. He's the sort of player who can pick up the lose balls around the defenders and with his fleet-footedness, he can create something from it. for me....(at home anyway).. Davis James - Trotman - Jaidi - Harding Hammond - Morgan Papa Mills Lallana Lambert
  3. Jake's an odd one...he has the ability, but his issue is that he has no idea what to do with it. I saw a couple of times yesterday, he ran at a defender, beat him...great....but then the cross deflected off the first defender and went for a throw (i don't even think he got any height on it). Not good enough. for a RW one of his strongest attributes has to be crossing....if he works hard, goes out on loan for a season (which is desperately needs - not just 1 or 2 months away) then he'll come back stronger and hopefully with confidence after discovering an end product! i think it's too early to be writing off any of the young players tbh.
  4. What a stupid post. He's a young lad learning his trade, but just isn't ready for first-team football just yet. He played well against Millwall IMO - so has shown he has something about him, but he can't do it week in - week out for us yet. I agree with the comments above, that he should be loaned out. He just had a woeful game yesterday, i admit that - but this thread is what you call OTT, to say the least.
  5. I believe he should be given time (anyone talking of him being judged in the next 3-4 games is stupid IMO) But im not of the opinion that he should be kept on if we get relegated, IMO that will just be promoting failure. FWIW i don't believe we will get relegated and i hope to finish in mid-table so we can push next season. Pard's is a good manager....i've seen enough at west ham to convince me of that, we just need that flaming win under our belts!!
  6. +1 i fully expect this. Charlton are on a high, could get 7 out of 7 - so will obviously be pushing and attacking...but in tern i expect them to leave space. If they do that...we could do very well, we've struggled this season against teams who stop us playing....i don't think charlton will.
  7. I only have the fear that this complete unknown is being made into this ''season saving'' savior - the unveiling on the pitch was a bit OTT - not being negative, but i just think he should be blended into the team like the other new lads have. He could turn out to be excellent...but im not sure they should be building this unknown entity up this much. Let's wait and see!
  8. He should play alongside Hammond - but only if we have proper width, otherwise he's pointless. - as we'll just hoof it up top and he'll be completely lost. If we play with Papa on the right and Mills on the left next weekend, he should start - his range of passing and switching of play will be crucial. I expect charlton, as they're full of confidence, to take the game to us - thus leaving space on the break. Could be the perfect game for him.
  9. We didn't lose! i know it feels like that sometimes.....but we drew!! happy days!
  10. Great assessment Um. The attack was abysmal today and probably led to the constant hoofing as there was no other option. There was no movement at all....
  11. He's was ok today, nothing more. Col U. fans commented after the game that he doesn't look the same player he did for them. Today he just hoofed it too much IMO, although i guess in a way he was dictated to do that by having no one to pass to. He'll get better - once he gets to grips with our team (and we get width). I'd start him alongside morgan...and stick Lloydy back at RB.
  12. He's got ability - but he's not the right player for us now, not quite ready IMO. Would do well for him to have a loan away at a Conf. side, just so he can get some professional goals under his belt.
  13. Pards time at Charlton was completely different - he was pretty much strangled in what he could do, everyone was being ''laid'' off around him as they were cost cutting and his best players being sold (A. Reid). He's shown enough for me at West Ham to convince me he's good enough for us. It just isn't working at the moment though, but once we get a fully fit/available side out there it should... but we can't keep going through weeks just saying ''don't worry, we're close to a win'' though - before you know it, we could be 15/16 points adrift.
  14. ok maybe i overdid it with ''class'' but i still think he's a very talented defensive player - hope we can keep him for the season.
  15. Class player, wins everything and reads the game so well. Def. the high point for me today, alongside harding who i thought played well again! I think defensively today we were completely spot on - no issues there, it's just what happened further up the pitch...! i.e nothing. Jaidi and Trotman at the back should mean we don't concede too many goals. now we need to learn how to create chances for lambo...
  16. i know what you're saying, but our league position is getting more and more frightening. 11 off - possibly even more next weekend if we don't win at Charlton. I honestly don't believe time is on our side...results need to start now otherwise we are in serious ****.
  17. He was going to be on the bench, but apparently picked up another injury in training (according to the talk in the ground). No idea what sort of injury though.
  18. I didn't think he was that bad, but i was just a bit downhearted by that comment from a Col U fan...i know he can play better than that too (saw him for brighton a few years back) I felt he was one of the players way too guilty at hoofing it too much, he's good on the deck...so bloody pass it!
  19. One thing i will say though, i thought Mills really improved us once he came on (wouldn't have been hard tbf) but he ran at players, beat players kept wide and put a few dangerous deliveries into the box. Next game he HAS to start. No question. I'd have no qualms about sending Mellis back to Chelsea either tbf - not for this league, sooooooo lightweight it's untrue!
  20. Patto isn't even that sort of player though, he wins **** all in the air - way too lightweight. To sum this club up at the moment, a comment from a Colchester fan after the game to me... ''WTF have you done to Hammond?'' excellent, well done saints.
  21. Woeful. we didn't have a clue, other than ''HOOF''. - by doing that we completely isolate the likes of Adam etc. Rubbish...didn't deserve to win IMO, draw was a fair result. Our lack of any agility and pace up front was frightening. Worst i've ever seen Patto play - he's not first choice for me. If that's the level of ''football'' we're going to see this year then our attendances could well drop into single figures. It was dross.
  22. Doesn't look like it. he was on the squad list for tomorrow on the OS earlier, but has now been removed.....so has Holmes.
  23. ffs...if holmes is injured again....(he was in the squad list earlier too...) good to see fish back though!
  24. can't help but laugh at that! bleedin' genius. Love that site.
  25. Not sure he'll be playing tbh (esp. if he's signing in the megastore pre-match!) Raidi Jaidi's work permit looks set to take a little longer to process, with a wait of approximately seven to ten days currently being anticipated.
