He was going to be on the bench, but apparently picked up another injury in training (according to the talk in the ground). No idea what sort of injury though.
 -
I didn't think he was that bad, but i was just a bit downhearted by that comment from a Col U fan...i know he can play better than that too (saw him for brighton a few years back) I felt he was one of the players way too guilty at hoofing it too much, he's good on the deck...so bloody pass it!
 -
One thing i will say though, i thought Mills really improved us once he came on (wouldn't have been hard tbf) but he ran at players, beat players kept wide and put a few dangerous deliveries into the box. Next game he HAS to start. No question. I'd have no qualms about sending Mellis back to Chelsea either tbf - not for this league, sooooooo lightweight it's untrue!
 -
Patto isn't even that sort of player though, he wins **** all in the air - way too lightweight. To sum this club up at the moment, a comment from a Colchester fan after the game to me... ''WTF have you done to Hammond?'' excellent, well done saints.
 -
Woeful. we didn't have a clue, other than ''HOOF''. - by doing that we completely isolate the likes of Adam etc. Rubbish...didn't deserve to win IMO, draw was a fair result. Our lack of any agility and pace up front was frightening. Worst i've ever seen Patto play - he's not first choice for me. If that's the level of ''football'' we're going to see this year then our attendances could well drop into single figures. It was dross.
 -
Doesn't look like it. he was on the squad list for tomorrow on the OS earlier, but has now been removed.....so has Holmes.
 -
ffs...if holmes is injured again....(he was in the squad list earlier too...) good to see fish back though!
 -
can't help but laugh at that! bleedin' genius. Love that site.
 -
Not sure he'll be playing tbh (esp. if he's signing in the megastore pre-match!) Raidi Jaidi's work permit looks set to take a little longer to process, with a wait of approximately seven to ten days currently being anticipated.
 -
i still believe he was worth more than that TBH. If you look at Chopra...he went for £5m, but IMO Jones was twice the player in terms of natrual atributes and ability to improve - and he also had the potential to play in the prem(which he has proven)
 -
+1 i remember our half arsed attempts at rejecting Kenwyne's bids, only to accept an offer ''as it was too good to turn down'' a week or so later.

Just listened to Pard's on Saints player.... 'pretty much confirmed the OP's post. Papa should be available for sat. and Holmes and Mills are both fully fit and pushing for a place. also made me laugh that Pard's commented that he's sure saints fans had been checking out Papa's dancing on youtubue doesn't sound like he personally knows Papa or how he plays - but he did say that one thing he knows is that he offers genuine pace - and we've lacked that. Said he's come highly recommended and has been told that he could be an unexpected bonus for us.
 -
Club have just updated twitter...they're not so sure on Papa yet. (Although may have changed in the last hour) Jaidi's work permit is probably 7 - 10 days away. Papa Waigo is a possibility for Saturday but touch and go. #saintsfc
 -
Wow - we may be able to play with width! if that's the case....Mills on the left, Papa on the right - Adam behind lambo (as saga is away) AP...do it!
 -
http://www.thefishy.co.uk/cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl?m-1251934987/ oh dear. - check out their views on him. 5 years though FFS, what on earth were we doing last year? Beggars belief.
 -
From the OS: New signings Papa Waigo N'diaye and Radhi Jaidi must await clearance before they can be considered for selection in Saturday's squad. guess there is a chance then
 -
not sure that's something you can blame him for. he had the biggest win % as a manager for us in a long time.
 -
80 i expect that to grow now they've got a new manager in. I bought 3 tickets earlier, got a feeling you'll get the usual bounce response from 2 solid signings (people hoping to see their debuts).
 -
I reckon we just turned the table upside down when we showed him. harsh tbf, but has to be done.
 -
Agree re: harding too. Again - i was surprised we got him, seeing as he did well for Reading at the back end of last year and was part of their play off games. Not as good as bale technically, but arguably the best we have had since him - and IMO much more solid defensively.
 -
I really hope he does stay and we don't end up sending him out on emergency loan - what's the point of that? if he wanted to go so much, just clear him out on deadline day. Now is the time to forget about moves and just focus on southampton.
 -
It is he's still very good on it too. worth £3m on my current version, 19 for acceleration and 19 for pace!
 -
I'm absolutely delighted if im honest. Everywhere we needed to strengthen, we have - but with proven quality Midfield - signed the captain and one of the best midfielders in L1 - hammond Striker - signed the best striker in L1. Lambert Defence - signed Jaidi, top championship defender, signed harding - top championship left back - Murty - solid championship right back. ...then trotman, very highly rated - did v v v well for colehster and Oldham at this level and has started well. ...and lets not forget the surprise...Papa...we needed pace, he's got it, we needed a right winger - he is that. We needed cover up front, he gives us that. Jury is still out on Mellis for me though, hopefully he'll settle in and show his quality eventually. ..but all in all, can't complain! Also we've still got Adam, Morgan, Davis and Saga (i hope he's now committed) When we gel, we will win and score with regular ease.
 -
Think it was him - he was in Serie B with Cesena a couple of years ago, scored lots of goals too. Not sure how Serie B compares with our championship/L1 though.
 -
If you go through the other squads in L1 - which other teams can boast as many current internationals as we have? Saganowski - Poland Papa - Senagal Jaidi - Tunisa Morgan - French U19/U21 Bit of a worry though TBF - as we'll be at the disadvantage on these international weekends.
