Lowe did want to move Davis on, as he was on a big wage... but well played Davis for sticking here....he'll end his career here IMO.
-
Good point if you look down the spine of the team, Lambo - Hammond - Trotter...all way over 6ft..good stuf
-
It totally make sense! By playing in that position he isn't ''directly'' affecting the teams balance, as we still have Mills out on the left. (ok he is injured atm..but you get my point) Also you'd think lambert will hold it up, move it on, flick it on etc...adam could kind of play as a 2nd forward - i think he'd be great there...i just wish it would be tried!
-
Davis Murty - Thomo - Trotman - Harding Mellis - Hammond - Gillett - Mills Lallana Lambert Subs - Bart - Greg - Morgan - Olly - Perry - Gobern - White Saying that..i still think Adam could do with a break from the team, but i'd like to see how he does in this sort of position and shape first.

Oldham fans like him tbh... ''Quality signing. On Loan until January?. Colchester fans were raving about him when he was with them last season. Never put a foot wrong for us. Better than any current centre half in league 1 in my opinion.''
-
Sour grapes....colchester fans loved him, you don't get player of the season for being ****e. and the comments i've seen from colchester fans have all been very very positive.
-
Time to adjust expectations, they're a division above us now - and he cost them 500k a couple of years back. We need to get used to signing reserve championship players for the next couple of seasons...
-
I'm ITK PNE supporting friend got an SMS from their official site saying it was a done deal - loan till jan 3rd.
-
He's ours (well until the new year anyway) - will be announced this afternoon
-
exactly....!!! why can't people see this? When we're in a better position to attract players - we'll buy them. At the moment it's tough, and i don't think our start has made us an even more attractive proposition! If we can get to Jan/summer, out of hte bottom 3 and towards mid-table then it's been a success - we can then go and get the players we really wanted (or better players, who have since become avaliable)
-
Key issue here - we haven't had any for years. The scouting is utterly awful, as stated by Pards Going back to the first point on the first page....have you thought about these loan signings in this way? Pard's has found it very hard to attract who he really wants - so we're bringing in these good quality loans to tide us over untill we're in a better position. - i.e january. It's good that he's not just going out and paying for ''average'' players - but he's biding his time untill we are able to get in the best. That may be next summer, or january.
-
If he's the player i think he is....then he is extremely highly rated. I remember there being a feature before one of Colchesters live games last year, where either Peter Beagre or Kamara previewed this player and raved about him... Millwall were v keen to sign him too. from the preview of him i remember them describing him as a ''technically gifted, extremely quick, but an amazingly strong CB for his age''. Preston fans aren't happy he's gone - they think he should be in their first team! Forget all that though, we should have signed him for £5m to signal our intent
-
There is a huge shake up in the scouting system taking place at the moment, the new scouting setup should be ready after Saturday. I'd expect (From how AP is speaking) that alot of time and possibly even finances have been put into it.
-
The west ham fans really didn't rate him at the start of his reign - took him a little while to get grip of it all. but then at the end of the season, there he is with the players on an open top bus holding a trophy. He's making sensible signings that equate to what we all believe we are lacking - so give it time...
-
Think he's a bit out of our range atm. Cov wanted him, but Hearts were looking at a fee of £2-3m ish
-
lol@portsmouth. it was a 91st min pen for brum too. Nice

Message to club - Any DANGER of signing a CB or two
S-Clarke replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
If you listen to the radio interview he says it towards the end. ''We are hopeful of having a new defender in by Saturday...'' -
Thompson has pace his problem is that he doesn't know how the **** to use it.
-
Lee holmes is going - well he is subject of enquires from clubs and we're considering them.... but McLaggon is a great option when fit
-
I'm still waiting for his big announcement....from last friday. Apparently we would all be shocked and surprised at what (should have) happened. Nope...sorry....
-
Well he's better than Wotton. In our playoff season he was truly an unfair scapegoat - he did the simple things well and alot of our wins were built around how he kept it solid in the middle. Wotton doesn't keep it simple, he just hooof's it about 2 years in front and then fowls the player. Wotton isn't a scapegoat...he's just ****.
-
what's that got to do with anything? are you saying that Lambert helped them lose games? despite scoring 29 goals last year?
-
All the players we have signed so far are players who have been promoted in recent years. They have all played at this level before and are ''proven''. So they are quite shrewed signings...and it's being odne in the right way. Murty with reading, Hammond with Brighton, Harding with Brighton, Lambert with Bristol Rovers...all good news for next season IMO when i have a feeling we could storm it. (please...!)
-
He wouldn't go out on loan, his problem is he thinks she's too big for that now and after his supposded ''attitude'' in the summer - he belives he's too big for us. Putitng him in the reserves would probably prompt him to leave - but tbh, we will not see results with him in the team atm.
