Not going to read too much into his performance, he was against a Wolves team who offered nothing - although he did stand up on the few occasions he was needed. Was it just me or was Steve Mcwankerman hoping he'd make an error?
-
Much better second half. Much quicker, much sharper, more purpose in our play. Wolves didn't touch us to be honest, so once we upped our own tempo it was our game to lose. Quarter Finals it is!
-
Well, that was suitably dreadful.
-
Always love watching a debut. At last, we get to see him! Hopefully we've unearthed a superstar! He's already gone one better than Forren, which is a relief! Wolves team is a bit odd. Let's see what happens.

Great game. 5-4 Everton ET. Still got 20mins or so to play.

PEH having an absolute nightmare tonight.

Thankfully I'm too young to remember those days!

Thanks for that, good website. Although your opening line about 'working with the greatest minds' is a bit dubious when you have a piece with Mauricio Pellegrino. Arguably the worst manager I've ever seen.

You do realise that post is almost 18 months old...?

Wow, really looking forward to seeing him play after all this time! If he's our 'future' as so many people are alluding to, then I imagine he'll be a starter every week before long. If he stays fit!

Appreciate your opinion, but I just cannot get into that mindset. Why are people worried about the league and not getting points etc? We are as safe as houses, not even within a sniff of being in a 'battle', so to me...this seems like the perfect opportunity to put all eggs in the cup basket. Put the strongest 11 out in the FA Cup as opposed to the league. Finishing 11th or 10th, or winning the cup....not really a tough call!

He can't defend either.

Leeds play that high press game much better than us (at the moment). It helps when you have someone like Raphinia who is happy to run and take players on. Will be an interesting game when we play them in a few weeks, they certainly give you chances, so the score is anyone's guess. Palace are a true reflection of dross though. Nowhere team.

Mike Dean: Referee notifies police over death threats to family - BBC Sport Personally I think this is even more proof that he needs to be taken out of the spotlight for a little while, but let's be honest...he loves the spotlight, so he's not going anywhere.
-
Money talks I guess. One last shot at the top level if he feels he can do it, but the reality is that he'd barely play and would be even more susceptible to injury's if and when he did. He really would be dicing with his entire career and I'd fully expect him to be back out on loan within a year. Leicester or Everton are much better shouts.

Ings to City stinks of 'English quota' stuff. Let's hope he's not silly enough to throw his career away like that.
-
Which is why it's even more ludicrous that we have no backup to KWP. We needed better than Valery, but now we don't even have him.

Personally I'm all for winning a trophy. Any 'jaunts' into Europe on league placing for clubs of our size are fleeting and not long-term. A trophy is long-term, it's always there. It's in history. We need to win more silverware, our cupboard is embarrassingly bare really. I think we should have won something during the Koeman or Poch years tbh, we were well placed for something - but what happened? We started putting weak teams out in the cup because we felt we had a chance of 'Top 4' and wanted to concentrate on the league - and yes, we got into Europe under Koeman, but were knocked out in the early rounds which put a mockery on 'resting players' for the league so we could finish 7th. Silverware over league placings every single time for me. I wouldn't have swapped those Arsenal results around by the way, if we were going to win one of them I was hoping it was the FA Cup game.
-
Hopefully most clubs operate a long-term scouting strategy rathe than just deciding to make a move based on a run of games, that would seem a little foolish. He's clearly a top level player, struggling with form after quite an in and out season.
-
I'm sure we'd love either of them, but individually they are both likely to cost in the region of £30-40m. We will not be spending that much on an individual player. Our replacements for Ings etc will be in the normal 10-15m bracket.

It doesn't happen that often because most defenders can sort their feet out. He had an absolute nightmare there, personal disaster of a match/week. When Bednarek is bad....christ he is beyond bad! When he's good he's decent though.
-
Chris Sutton is about as irrelevant as Robbie Savage. They're just looking for reactions, they're just WUM's in pundit form.
-
Maybe the tiniest bit of good news from today. I thought he looked decent in the first half, he was making good runs into space and his goal was excellent - again, a good run into space, a great touch and an even better finish. Second half he lost his way a little, he hasn't played a great deal for Liverpool so fitness may have come into it, but I also don't understand how we were trying to use him when we were against 9 men? He seemed to play as one of the last men - maybe hoping he could pick a through ball? (Although that would have been tricky with two banks of 4 so condensed to each other - the width and stretching of the play was the way through in that game) But overall a goal on his debut isn't bad at all, looks a tidy little player and certainly a much needed lift for our attacking third.

Violent conduct, seriously? According to Sky, the VAR crew have justified the decision because of Souceks 'clenched' fist. I'm struggling to see any clenched fist.

You referring to the likes of Hoedt/Lemina/Elyounoussi etc? They needed to go to be honest, they weren't offering us anything. Plus letting them go enabled us to bring in the likes of Diallo and Theo, without those departures we wouldn't have had the room in the wage budget.
